Really Nice collages of Jon modeling and speaking about how his good looks can be a detriment to his career. He certainly was leading man material. Interviewer is Tawny Little.
What is worth keeping in mind is that 26 years after his death, Jon Erik Hexum is still remembered & admired. He never had the chance to prove what his full potential would be. People who worked with him and saw him face to face remarked on his stunning looks. He would stop people dead in their tracks just while walking down a street. His looks, though, were not all he had. Talented, intelligent & kind. Also totally without the arrogance one might expect from such a man. One of a kind. xxxxx
he could have played any superhero, he could have played james bond etc. he had the charisma and leading man qualities to play anything. such a shame what happened. R.I.P
My heart breaks hearing him say, 'I am nervous because I don't know what's next.' Beautiful, talented man. Fame will always be his, because we won't forget him. :)
With that haircut alone this could easily pass for the 90's or even early 2000's...I don't get an 80's vibe at all. He reminds me a lot of Stephen Amell facially but also in build
I never saw him act, but I remember when he was just getting noticed. He remains absolutely unforgettable. He was just a really, truly terrific guy who was bound for greatness.
Very sleek haircut. Just goes to show, less is more with sleek haircuts for men. He looks so modern with that haircut. It's like he's a time traveler. He would not look out of place today.
As a fellow female fan that just adores Jon-Erik, I concur. I was just making a few comparisons below. All humans share similar features. So I do see the similarities in other actors. But Jon is cream of the crop out of all these guys forever!
I remember when he passed away, and such a tragic accident! He would have super successful and was so totally handsome, that we don't get to see many of his type, even now. And, he just had it all! So sad. And sorry this happened to him.
if he would have lived just a few more years the cover up would have build up to him being busyCaptain American he had the look and the right build to be a marvel action hero I promise you that.
omg! I remember when I first saw him back in 83. I was very young, but I remember thinking wooow! I think that was my first crush. I also remember when he died. My Uncle showed me the paper and I was sad. What a looker he was.
Gone way to soon. He not only had the great looks, but great voice. I read that he also could sing. Not to mention a great speaking voice. He is missed for sure.
I was 14 when he died. I had been a fan from the beginning, from voyagers to cover-up series. I saw The making of a male model, and I was extremely jealous of that old cougar Joan Collins!(At least she knew a gorgeous catch when she saw one!) I remember just before he died, Madonna had just released "Like A Virgin". It was used in Cover-Up in a scene where he was modeling with lots of women hovering over him. God, he was beautiful. I cried for months after he died, it's been 31 years this month, time has flown! October 15 or 18 1984? Too bad he didn't have kids, we could still be looking at his beautiful face and body through a gorgeous Son or maybe two or three! lol Love this MAN!
Just a female fan's view here ... one who carried Jon-Erik's pic in her wallet lang after he had died, for years after --- neither Paul Walker nor Stephen Amell come anywhere NEAR looking or sounding like Jon Erik. Chris Evans? Not even remotely. Yeah, I think I get the Michael Weatherly thing a bit though. There just never has been anyone out there that combined all the qualities that Jon Erik had. He was also a pianist, and very very intelligent. That voice, that face, those eyes!!
Era hermoso ,yo tenía 6 años cuando murió y llore tanto tanto que aún recuerdo como si fuese hace poco . Que tristeza y más todavía porq nadie pero nadie lo recuerda
@seasidecharles I totally agree with you there. Thanks for your nice comments. Jon-Erik was I guess what you call the 'rare' breed in Hollywood. Not many like him now and not many before. Well, he definitely would have been had he gotten his big chance.
I also believe this is a KABC (ABC) Los Angeles mini feature for a program that I think was called, "Eye On LA" and this segments host name is -Tawny Little.
BlytheWorld1972 To some extent he was a pin-up. He did appear and give interviews to a number of the popular teen magazines then. He did do some modeling before getting the lead role on Voyagers too. I have a lot of scans of those images on my website.
yes i know but his superstardom was just around the corner he even looked like a star i feel so sad we never got to see him shine only 26 tragic for him and us
+Voyagersguidebook I so remember Voyagers! when I was in grade school. Loved that show! His character was kind of kooky. The man had a body though! I was shocked when he died.
+Eckingtonwashdc Washington DC Yeah, Phineas Bogg was played off as kind of dumb in the first half of the series, so the kid could shine with all the facts.
Not many men have a voice like Jon-Erik. It was very unique. Paul Walker looks like him. I was also thinking of Stephen Amell from the new 'Arrow' series. He really resembles him especially with the crew cut in this video. Google his name and you'll see.
My younger brother could be Jon-Erik our neighbour used to remark it all the time he's 26 this year and he could be Jon in Male Model (movie) before he gets the makeover! I miss him!
Paul Walker looks nothing like him lol u have to be blinded to even think that jon looks like mix of Henry cavill and John Travolta so please don't ever compare jon with Paul Walker and jon is way way way better looking than Paul Walker it's not even a contest Paul Walker was just an average looking guy with pretty eyes
@@supermandiamondwavyhair8860 I never said they were twins. I never thought Paul was “average.” And i think Jon-Erik tops all of them. At the time i was also wondering who could play a new Phineas Bogg if they ever brought Voyagers! Back. Now, I would rather they just make new Voyagers characters and leave the originals alone.
@@Voyagersguidebook well I think Paul Walker is average he's nowhere near Jon hexum,Brad pitt,Henry cavill,Chris hemsworth,Chris Evans I just thought it was offensive when u said he looks like jon because he doesn't look anything like him but I guess everyone is allowed to have their own opinion
Yeah. :( He had a lot of talent and promise and an understanding of the business with clear goals to save his earnings and Produce movies. But they never seemed to care to ask him about that in his televised interviews, they only cared about the "Hunk" factor.
@evanlydecolunga2 Please do not insult the memory of J-EH by comparing him to anyone else. No resemblance to anyone living or dead whatsoever. He was one of a kind.
How on Earth does an actor NOT get professional instructions and warnings from the props manager about the use of a real gun with blanks? Nobody told him such a gun will make a dangerous explosion? How is this possible?? I hope his mother won a lot of money from the studio. 20th Century Fox failed him.
He'd worked with guns before. Voyagers used Prop guns too. But his character didn't use them, except for one rifle shot in the air scene. I think he must've known the dangers. But according to studio procedure the gun was NOT supposed to be loaded because they weren't filming at that time on Cover Up. Even if it were still loaded, the Prop gun was supposed to be locked up. :/ I really don't believe he thought it was loaded, he was tired, just woken from a nap and the studio was STILL behind on filming. So he was fooling around (NOT playing Russian Roulette) more like, "ugh this filming's taking forever, just shoot me now" type of playfulness. Like when people put a finger to the temple. Unfortunately he really the prop gun and pulled that trigger. It must've been a complete shock. :( That studio couldn't even spell his name right in the tribute to him.
if they make a movie about jon erik hexum , i think they should use paul walker the guy from the fast and furious movies , the guy looks like him some and it be awesome if he even made the cover up tv series , the only thing that paul walker is the voice that jon erik had u know
He was a little full of himself. With those looks, he would have been more appealing if he was a little less intense. Anyway, by dying young, he will always be remembered. If he were still alive, he'd be doing 5th tier Dolph Lungren kinds of movies -- and he'd be old.

Totally agree. He was probably one of the best ever looking guys to grace the silver screen

He was intelligent sensitive intelligent. Sense of humor so much good . Long hours on set 15 hour days I hear they had can affect decisions .

You still have the same views?
smart guy, cool calm assertive, shame it all ended so early
If he were alive today, he most likely would've been doing alot of voice over work in documentaries, like Morgan Freeman.
He would have been excellent for something like the Twilight Zone. Something of that nature.
PSL 8 Demigod, I'm fuarking mirin, insane voice halo

Jon had a great voice as well as being too handsome
Que hermoso le queda ese corte de pelo!!! Es un bombón!! LO AMOOOO!!!
He was beyond his years!.....very smart man
he accomplished a lot in just two years in show business, two TV series, movie of the week and a feature film (1982-1984)
I like him with the short hair. It brings out more of his nice facial features.
Compared to Brad Pitt? I think Jon-Erik had it all!!
