  • Really Nice collages of Jon modeling and speaking about how his good looks can be a detriment to his career. He certainly was leading man material. Interviewer is Tawny Little.

    What is worth keeping in mind is that 26 years after his death, Jon Erik Hexum is still remembered & admired. He never had the chance to prove what his full potential would be. People who worked with him and saw him face to face remarked on his stunning looks. He would stop people dead in their tracks just while walking down a street. His looks,though, were not all he had. Talented, intelligent & kind. Also totally without the arrogance one might expect from such a man. One of a kind. xxxxx

    I was 14 when he died. I had been a fan from the beginning, from voyagers to cover-up series. I saw The making of a male model, and I was extremely jealous of that old cougar Joan Collins!(At least she knew a gorgeous catch when she saw one!) I remember just before he died, Madonna had just released "Like A Virgin". It was used in Cover-Up in a scene where he was modeling with lots of women hovering over him. God, he was beautiful. I cried for months after he died, it's been 31 years this month, time has flown! October 15 or 18 1984? Too bad he didn't have kids, we could still be looking at his beautiful face and body through a gorgeous Son or maybe two or three! lol Love this MAN!

    Just a female fan's view here ... one who carried Jon-Erik's pic in her wallet lang after he had died, for years after --- neither Paul Walker nor Stephen Amell come anywhere NEAR looking or sounding like Jon Erik. Chris Evans? Not even remotely. Yeah, I think I get the Michael Weatherly thing a bit though. There just never has been anyone out there that combined all the qualities that Jon Erik had. He was also a pianist, and very very intelligent. That voice, that face, those eyes!!

    How on Earth does an actor NOT get professional instructions and warnings from the props manager about the use of a real gun with blanks? Nobody told him such a gun will make a dangerous explosion? How is this possible?? I hope his mother won a lot of money from the studio. 20th Century Fox failed him.

    • @Voyagersguidebook
      @Voyagersguidebook  5 років тому +2

      He'd worked with guns before. Voyagers used Prop guns too. But his character didn't use them, except for one rifle shot in the air scene. I think he must've known the dangers. But according to studio procedure the gun was NOT supposed to be loaded because they weren't filming at that time on Cover Up. Even if it were still loaded, the Prop gun was supposed to be locked up. :/
      I really don't believe he thought it was loaded, he was tired, just woken from a nap and the studio was STILL behind on filming. So he was fooling around (NOT playing Russian Roulette) more like, "ugh this filming's taking forever, just shoot me now" type of playfulness. Like when people put a finger to the temple. Unfortunately he really the prop gun and pulled that trigger. It must've been a complete shock. :( That studio couldn't even spell his name right in the tribute to him.
