When i was a kid, my Dad knotted the reins and I think? I let the knot rest on the horse's neck. Just rode to gather and work cattle, no benefit of knowing why things were done, li I enjoy moving their feet before mounting. Thanks Tim. I hope I get to ride again some day! Just had a total knee replacement. It's been 30 years since I've been on a horse...I am hopeful I will be able to ride once in awhile again. In the meantime, I enjoy your videos!
Another wonderful lesson!
Your place is crawling with horses! If I was seriously training mine, I would send him down to you for the winter months for sure.❤
Wauw this was an eye opener for me! 🎉 Explains a lot why the horses always slow down and fall on their front end. Thanks Tim!!
Thank you so interesting all the sounds, different horses just excellent thankbyou so much for sharing 😊❤
Great video. I am glad that you brought this subject up because so many people ended up with iron hands glued to the horses neck which caused problems. Glad that it is now considered passé. Hope that you had a lovely Thanksgiving.
Glad I came up before the crest days. Only time I learned to put hands on neck was the bridge used galloping at the track b
Hello Tim Happy Late Thanksgiving. I hope you enjoyed the holiday.
The sounds are good. They remind me of the best part of my life. Are you getting the help you need with your missuus?❤
Lovely and very educational, thanks a lot ❤
Could your go over working with spurs, what type of spurs and what leg/ spur applied with what rein for moving shoulders, ribs , and hind quarters thank you for your time.
Tim has a bunch of videos on the channel covering these things ❤
@tracyjohnson5023 which videos tracy?
If that horse pops up with your 130/150 kg on it I would be surprised! You call your self s horse trainer you must know a horse is not supposed to carry more than 20% of its own body weight including tack? At least that the rule since 1960 in the US right?well I come from Europe so i use international measurements in meters and kg ect,the reason for it to be international is because its a correct way of measuring! And not just everything in large and x large sizes including the people i guess you way about 130/150 kg, But the horse you are riding doesn't even look like it weighs 500kg even if it does...plus cowboy tack that weighs another at least 50kg that is already 10 % so you and your clothes and the rest should be 50kg but you are 3 times heavier
...should be a shame! Not proud!
I have heard that too. I think you need to look past parroting what someone has told you is a rule that applies to all situations. This trainer is an amazing rider and uses his weight perfectly on the horse, and otherwise is not over working the horse
@C-Rocks that rule is a law in most competitions ,it's an international rule,no one told me you can look it up! And it makes sense! And I don't know where you come from but a thoroughbred weight anything between 450 kg to 500kg ,don't know why you said 700kg??? My horse is 1,61 cm or 15,3 1/2 hands and weighs
540 kg now I am 1,70cm I weigh 62 kg plus gear and clothes it won't pass 80kg and I could be 20 kg over weight and still be ok on my horse!
and if he would care?he still uses a western saddle from almost 30 kg on the poor horse, instead of using a normal saddle from 12 kg! Riding horses should all have to do with the welfare of the horse it's not a toy!
@@zoerolandevanrumt7745 rules for competitions don't apply to all situations; use your own judgement there is no animal welfare concerns here!
@@C-Rocks its a general rule so that people don't abuse horses! I know there is no concerns about animal welfare there! This is the same guy that abuses a foul from 6months old hitting her with a whip while she try's to jump the high stable wall, she got ripped of her mother and put behind 4 giant walls in a small stable and she want to jump out and get to the other horse she is scared and wants out and this so called horse trainer stands in there hitting her continually with a whip untill she stopped moving, and then he calls that training a horse? Hitting a baby with a whip and over and over again, that's floating a horse untill they give up or they have to suicide them self against a wall! All he taught her was how to hate humans she didn't understand anything of his so called training!
@@zoerolandevanrumt7745 sorry I do not know to what you are now referring; we were discussing weight ratio of horse and rider where I said you need to evaluate individual situations to determineif there is a welfare concern, and there is none here...
