In a world of fakers, your honesty and integrity serve you well and we are here for it and you. I’m in my 60’s and have endured many oh sh1t moments. That’s when you learn, take a breath, walk away come back and fix it up. Ps I will admit I would have said much worse than oh sh1t 🤣🤣🤣
Angie, you were very brave to share this video. I especially liked the steps that you identified -- with great honesty. It was a pleasure to see how you saved your efforts and ended up with a beautiful clock. Good work, Girl!
Growing up in the 60's my parents had a clock very similar to this one, watching this brings back memories for me. As a retired woodworker I can tell you that sh*t happens to the best of us and there should be no embarrassment on your part. Your perseverance and determination has shown through and once again you've achieved a high quality restoration. Shine on!
Ok... I work nights, and am VERY late to comments, but: A) This is for YOU! Stop qualifying ANYTHING! It was destined for the dumpster B) You did a GREAT job at saving a piece... that was worth saving... and would have died in a landfill C) Anyone who would criticize you... um... did YOU save it from the dumpster? No? ... Then sit down. I find that "purists" tend to be those who have dropped the ball on projects that don't meet their "criteria". This is YOUR piece. Kudos. And... thank you for sharing. And do not ever be ashamed of frustration... that IS how we learn. And... it turned out lovely... and will be a treasured piece in your home. Thanks, Ang! You always brighten my day. 😉👍
Thank you very much for watching! It’s just very different when I’m sharing something with the world (vs just my own home). I’ve always been a perfectionist so sometimes it’s hard to just let go.
Reminds me of the famous Bob Ross quote, "There are no mistakes, only happy accidents." While , in the end, it may not look the same as your vision, it is well done and a testament to skill coupled with tenacity. And that is worth quite a bit!
I think the end result is simply gorgeous. Don’t sell yourself short. Give what you had to work with, and what you found along the way, it looks beautiful! And definitely goes well with the rest of your decor. Kudos to you!
I love this clock, Angie! It touched my heart. My grandmother had this exact clock in her Livingroom; and your video took me back many decades to my childhood. I am now 60 years old, and I was thrilled watching you restore the clock. When things go wrong in life, it is nothing more than an invitation to change course! You changed course and ended up with a beautiful results. I cannot wait to see what you tackle next. Love your channel and love watching your furniture transformations.
This is the very reason why I wanted to see this one. My grandmother also had a clock very much like this one! Angie did a fantastic job of cleaning this up and saving it. It brings back a lot of memories for me.
Oh my gosh! Angie replied to me! LOL -- I feel so honored...more than anything, I am honored to watch what you do on a regular basis. You are such an inspiration.
I love it! You show the human side of things. Nobody is perfect. Mistakes are made by all of us. I love it that you show the ups and the downs! Great job on the clock.
Thank you for sharing this video. There is no shame or embarrassment in making mistakes, in fact they are what help us improve and be better. I used to think that everything had to be perfect, but perfection is an illusion and in reality it does not exist. What I love about your videos and work is that you do your very best with each piece that you take on. I watch other flippers who are not nearly as thorough as you, and I appreciate how patient and meticulous you are with your creations. In the end your clock turned out fabulous and you saved it from the rust and yuck that would have eventually made it useless. Thank you for always being honest with us too!
Those criminal mittens! It looks perfectly at home, and i hope that in spite of the frustration, you'll be proud of it every time you look at it for years to come.
We’ve all made mistakes! It’s comforting to know that you make them, too, and you’re willing to share the journey! You really are a friend to your fans! 😊
Angie this is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this. Sometimes when my pieces don’t turn out like I want them to I feel like just quitting altogether. So seeing this makes me realize that others go through this process too and that keeps me motivated.

Angie my dear... first of all thank you for the life lesson.... nothing to be embarrassed about of course. What you have ended up with is truly beautiful and a terrific addition to your home. Thank you ❤
Yes, I finally had to take the hands off my clock as my two little devils would NOT leave them alone and I was afraid they would pull the clock off the wall. It is now sort of just a strange wall decoration. I really liked the video - and I love how it turned out - looks great in the dining room. I think it is great that you kept going to show that even a piece that looks like it's going to go south, can still be saved. You did a great job! Thanks for sharing.
It turned out just gorgeous! I think you made good choices. Sometimes age does destroy something worth keeping and the only way to give it more life is to give it new life. Repainting should keep the rust at bay for many more years. I love MCM and this clock gave me happies.
Great save imo! Crooked second hand reminds me of our cat growing up. It would sneak into the living + dining room and play with the noisy dial on the thermostat, often hiking up the temperature in the winter.
They aren't mistakes, they're learning opportunities! I pulled my MCM starburst clock out of a dumpster, reeking from a fire ten years before. Also had to replace the soot-clogged mechanism. I got it so clean it quit being smelly, but I think I want to give the wood points another look after this. I've learned so much watching this channel.
Thanks for sharing this video. You know, we all jump into something at some point that doesn't go as we had hoped or planned. Labeling the stages of awareness and forging forward with the remedy is a good lesson for all. And, as you always do, the end product is beautiful...even with your cat's addition (or subtraction)❤️😂💜🙌
While I work in a different medium (fabric), the "challenges" of this project SO reminds me of some of my mis-steps and misadventures. Congrats on a great result despite the bumps and bangs along the way!
Wow!! That turned out so nice. Sorry you had such a time with it but glad you didn’t give up. Beautiful. The only thing missing was a kitty cameo. But then I got one! Absolutely the best. Thank you.
They used to spray lacquer over brass and brass plating to keep it from tarnishing but once it gets tarnished to polish it, you have to remove the lacquer first
The Business man is upholding his reputation ! Hopefully he does not knock it off the wall. Well done on the clock. You did a great job bringing that back to life.
Angie, I always learn from you. This info on the paint coming off is priceless. Thanks for the video and sharing with us all about your beautiful clock. Susie
It's a beautiful clock, and you did such an amazing job restoring it - don't judge yourself for a second - if you hadn't saved it someone would likely have thrown it in the trash. Also, stinker kitties are very very lucky they have so many wonderful qualities that detract from destruction! 🤣
Oh wow!! I love it! It looks just the right amount of old, as if it was lovingly cared for- but we now know it was lovingly restored!!(In spite of the frustration, I think you learned from it!) 😍❤️🐈🐈😁
I have to be honest I appreciate these videos where you’re showing mistakes and able to laugh about it. There are very entertaining and educational. I really enjoy your content in this clock is beautiful.
Enjoyed seeing something slightly different this week. No shame in the mistake - we all make them and - hopefully - learn from them. The main thing is it turned out beautifully in the end and looks great in your dining room.
I actually found your honesty of human errors and your refusal to chuck the project all together quite refreshing. I think it turned out beautifully, and I love the idea of being able to make it 2-tone. Depending on an items upkeep or the lack thereof we're sometimes forced to accept that some older pieces just aren't salvageable. But in this case, I think you knocked it outta the park. 😍
Dang Angie, we had one when I was a little someone. I didn't like it back then, but helped me learn time. Now, I've wondered about the clock a lot. Thanks, so enjoyed this one! c
That which doesn’t totally destroy your sanity makes you stronger, or something like that. A most attractive timepiece and great addition to the dining room. Thanks for sharing Angie.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is stop and walk away! I love the finished product with the clock face restored and the walnut glowing. Nice job, Angie!
Love that you own up to the mistakes AND find a way to fix them. Thats how we learn. The clock turned out beautiful. No one would know unless they were experts in clocks. Great job and thank you for sharing your learning experiences.
I live in New Mexico, USA, in a 100 year old adobe home. I rent from a person who is not interested in the history of this treasure, just wants the money wrung out of it. You are a person who appreciates this clock and its age. Your dedication to doing the best to restore this piece so it lives on, is music to my heart. Anything I can do , I will do, for the history of this place. I want this piece of the southwest live on. I will do what I can, as you do. I could replace the roof, but don't have the means to do so, so I don't. I could replace the windows, NEVER the floors ( so rich, worn, and evocative...never the beams in the ceiling.)..so your refurbishing of some the pieces of this clock, not restoring, was understood and respected. We love these things and look to the future hoping someone will eventually love them as much as we do. Thank you for the effort you put into sharing your work with us. I am always inspired by your art and craft.
It's honestly so reassuring to see someone so capable and skilled also have the occasional 'oops' moment -- and then show how to get recover and move forward from it! I absolutely adore your honesty about the process in your videos. As someone who loves projects but can fall into anxiety spirals when I make a mistake, seeing you acknowledge and then triumph over a situation going sideways is really inspiring. Thank you for this!!!
Oh dear. Cats and movement - any movement. Nacho is soooooo cheeky, but cute and adorable. Can't stay mad with him, I'm sure. Great job on the clock. It looks fabulous - bent hand and all.
I love it!! It proves that no project is impossible. You just need to figure out another way to make your vision happen. That's why they call it Plan B, or C, or even D. It looks awesome in your room too!!
Again, Angie, the work you do is awesome again, Angie, the work you do is awesome! Please never think for one moment that you cannot share the ups and downs of the work you do it is important that you show us the entire process the good bad and the ugly. We’re here for it and we don’t judge keep going girl.
Pieces like this and others you have saved (several Art Deco pieces of furniture come to mind) have no intrinsic value.....they are basically junk. What value they do have is in their design or "look". They tell a story of another time and that, I think , is what you really restored. And you did it so very well. Bravo Angie
Nothing you do is boring Angie! You rescued this piece. I really like the different type of item on video. I think it's a nice change, and gave you a break from large pieces of furniture. Great job well done!!! Hell-o to the family and fur babies 🎉😂❤
WOW. I have such clock envy over this piece! And showing something that you thought you messed up entirely and then coming back from it is super inspirational. I've been through all the stages of bad fixes, and totally understand.
Angie, it's GORGEOUS! You always make the right decisions to benefit the wood. I love this clock and it's perfect in your dining room! And I love how well the two kitties get along, so cute!
Great job all around. First for defining the five steps of a flip gone wrong. And next for a great save. That clock just oozes mid-century modern. All the steps you took came out terrific. And the swap to a quarts movement was absolutely needed.
I think you have made a clock that was destined for scrap into a lovely working piece, still retaining as close as possible the original look. Great respect for your patience and perseverance Angie, as well as showing how things can go wrong. Always a pleasure watching your videos.
Wow Angie, absolutely gorgeous! Even though it was frustrating you made it beautiful again! Love the way it turned out. Looks stunning in the dining room 😊! ❤
Confession: I actually love when you share this kind of story even more than regular content. It's exciting to see how you overcome disaster. I too put out a video when one of my cross stitch projects went off the rails and I was glad I did in the end. I loved your 5 stages of oh sheet! 😅 ❤
This clock 😍 WOW! What a SCORE! Your dedication to restoring wonderful old pieces blows me away. You repainted all of those numbers by hand?!? Honey, you did a terrific job. What an amazing restoration!
Once again you brought a piece destined to be put into the trash bin to beautiful rebirth. By the way I love your honesty and charm. I loved this video you are an amazing artist.
I love this clock. When I was a kid, mid-century was furniture was what our house was filled with. It was rather new then. I had a floor lamp that had a spring mechanism that you used to make the lamp stand straight from floor to ceiling. Loved that lamp.
As a long time crafter I completely agreed with your 5 stages and have gone through those myself many times. I'm considering doing a cross stitch pattern featuring those stages if it's ok with you? Thanks for sharing your restorations! I love your channel!
Angie!!! What are you talking? The clock looks wonderful!!! I'm amazed at the results. Only you could have produced such a wonderful end product. Bravo!!!
The clock looks amazing Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and let the piece give you the direction it wants to go Again the clock looks amazing
As always we are our own worst critic. I know when its my own project every time I look at it sll i see are the flaws, no mstter what anyone else says. Our frustration blinds us to the amazing job we have done. This clock is beautiful and has a fascinating story to go with it. This isn't a store bought piece to just function, its a piece of timless art that you rescued and made beautiful again.
See this is why we love you. Being a real person goes a long way. The work that you do speaks for its self.! 👍🏼❤️ beautifully done.

As someone who loves projects but can fall into anxiety spirals when I make a mistake, seeing you acknowledge and then triumph over a situation going sideways is really inspiring. Thank you for this!!!
You're incredibly welcome! 😊
Oh dear. Cats and movement - any movement. Nacho is soooooo cheeky, but cute and adorable. Can't stay mad with him, I'm sure. Great job on the clock. It looks fabulous - bent hand and all.
Thank you very much! 🙂
Despite your troubles, you made over a mid century clock to be a modern functional piece of art and it looks amazing!
Thank you so much! 😊
I love it!! It proves that no project is impossible. You just need to figure out another way to make your vision happen. That's why they call it Plan B, or C, or even D. It looks awesome in your room too!!
Thanks so much Coleen! I'm so glad you like it!
Again, Angie, the work you do is awesome again, Angie, the work you do is awesome! Please never think for one moment that you cannot share the ups and downs of the work you do it is important that you show us the entire process the good bad and the ugly. We’re here for it and we don’t judge keep going girl.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this comment. ❤️
That turned out awesome! I actually laughed out loud several times during that video. The cat at the end was just icing on the cake!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Pieces like this and others you have saved (several Art Deco pieces of furniture come to mind) have no intrinsic value.....they are basically junk. What value they do have is in their design or "look". They tell a story of another time and that, I think , is what you really restored. And you did it so very well. Bravo Angie
Thanks for watching!
Nothing you do is boring Angie! You rescued this piece. I really like the different type of item on video. I think it's a nice change, and gave you a break from large pieces of furniture. Great job well done!!! Hell-o to the family and fur babies 🎉😂❤
Thank you very much! 😊
WOW. I have such clock envy over this piece! And showing something that you thought you messed up entirely and then coming back from it is super inspirational. I've been through all the stages of bad fixes, and totally understand.
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Thank you for showing us the realistic side of the process.
You're very welcome! 😊
Angie, it's GORGEOUS! You always make the right decisions to benefit the wood. I love this clock and it's perfect in your dining room! And I love how well the two kitties get along, so cute!
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you like it! 😊
Great job all around. First for defining the five steps of a flip gone wrong. And next for a great save. That clock just oozes mid-century modern. All the steps you took came out terrific. And the swap to a quarts movement was absolutely needed.
Thank you so much! 😊
Pleased to see that you never let it beat you. Good job ❤
Thanks so much! 🙂
I think you have made a clock that was destined for scrap into a lovely working piece, still retaining as close as possible the original look. Great respect for your patience and perseverance Angie, as well as showing how things can go wrong. Always a pleasure watching your videos.
I'm so glad you enjoy them Jim! Thanks so much! 😊
Wow Angie, absolutely gorgeous! Even though it was frustrating you made it beautiful again! Love the way it turned out. Looks stunning in the dining room 😊! ❤
Thank you very much! 😊
Confession: I actually love when you share this kind of story even more than regular content. It's exciting to see how you overcome disaster. I too put out a video when one of my cross stitch projects went off the rails and I was glad I did in the end. I loved your 5 stages of oh sheet! 😅 ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching! 😊
This clock 😍 WOW! What a SCORE! Your dedication to restoring wonderful old pieces blows me away. You repainted all of those numbers by hand?!? Honey, you did a terrific job. What an amazing restoration!
Thank you very much!! 😊
Once again you brought a piece destined to be put into the trash bin to beautiful rebirth. By the way I love your honesty and charm. I loved this video you are an amazing artist.
I really appreciate that, thank you! 😊
Those sweet innocents had to play with the new toy! Angie, it's beautiful. Im glad you worked through the frustration!
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Angie, I love this vid! The clock is gorgeous & looks completely at home in your home. It is also a testament to your skill & tenacity. ❤
Thank you very much!! 🙂
Angie you are awesome. I so enjoy your videos. You are very thoughtful and it reflects in your wonderful flips. I love the clock.
Thank you very much for watching! 😊
The kitty contribution at the end was so funny! Love your work, Angie!
Thank you kindly! 😊
It came out beautiful.
Memories!! My dads uncle had exact same clock on his wall in '75
I love this clock. When I was a kid, mid-century was furniture was what our house was filled with. It was rather new then. I had a floor lamp that had a spring mechanism that you used to make the lamp stand straight from floor to ceiling. Loved that lamp.
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
As a long time crafter I completely agreed with your 5 stages and have gone through those myself many times. I'm considering doing a cross stitch pattern featuring those stages if it's ok with you? Thanks for sharing your restorations! I love your channel!
That is absolutely fine with me! That sounds hilarious, by all means feel free!! 😀
So beautiful! Brings back so many memories. Love this
I'm so glad you like how it turned out! Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Angie!!! What are you talking? The clock looks wonderful!!! I'm amazed at the results. Only you could have produced such a wonderful end product. Bravo!!!
Thank you very much Teresa! 😊
The clock looks amazing
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and let the piece give you the direction it wants to go
Again the clock looks amazing
Thank you so much!
Wow, thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it! 😊
