I so agree with you - if my heart could take it - his voice is so eloquent and strong and sensual - wish he would read more poems like this one - what a perfect combination of looks, intellect and sultry voice.
The music suits this reading so well, it lifts in just the right place and carries the words along with it. RA's emotive skill brings the poetry to life but it's the music that makes it fly.
RA could read my grocery list and make it sound like Hamlet. Truly a gifted and gorgeous actor. Oh, that voice, those eyes, and well, the rest of him as well. Thanks for posting.

Some of us have copies of Ted Hughes Poetry. This reading is a voice of passion not unlike Ted Hughes readings of his own work. Richard Armitage is a brilliant actor of many moods and emotions and is able to read poems with conviction.
Richard Armitage is simply too much for any woman´s heart to take. What a voice, what man. When I saw North and South I tought I was going to die with the scene of the movie. Dear me who can sleep after being introduced to someone line this Apollo?
My thoughts exactly. Richard's reading is so beautiful and together with the music, the words just soar. I only wish that the music didn't drown out his voice at the end of the poem. But gosh, this is sublime. Everytime I listen to this, I am transported to another place and time. :)
