Alfred Kralik (James Stewart) and Klara Novak (Margaret Sullavan) are employees at Matuschek and Company, a general store in Budapest. Klara and Alfred are constantly at odds with each other, butting heads and disagreeing on almost everything. Both are enamored of their respective pen pals, who serve as welcome distractions in their lives. Little do they know, they are each the other's pen pal and, despite outward differences, have unwittingly fallen in love through their letters.
Directed By Ernst Lubitsch
Starring Margaret Sullavan, James Stewart, Frank Morgan

Calling someone a dictator in 1940 must have been especially harsh.
Young James Stewart!! How dare you Mr. Kralik
A most delightful soul pleasing innocent love that sadly doesn't exist anymore.
what makes you think it ever did?
@@muddeer5383That kind of chemistry implies something else. They were wonderful together.
"we hate it when we're wrong, that's why we're so feminine" lmao she plays him like a fiddle here but still can't help falling in love with him by the end.
in my opinion this movie is better then even its a wonderfull life stewart is masterly aided by great performances by the whole cast ,its a masterpiece of movie making. it instills a glow inside me every time I view it.
James Stewart was the best hollywood actor ever I believe when you consider all his dozens of great performances. He had this *intensity* he really pulled out some very deep emotions. Even in this movie, when he reads so sadly so softly the dismissal letter, when he speaks to Klara in the bedroom and then in the locker room, and the way he looks at her so intently & gently . . . its all so intense. He & Margaret Sullavan did four films together and both played such different characters in all of them, and all four were really good. This one is definitely the most fun of the four films, and you're right you feel a such a glow when Kralik & Klara have their scenes together.
I agree Its a Wonderful Life is not such a cheery movie, it gets dark and James Stewart gives a complete powerful performance as this unhappy frustrated man. His G.Bailey and his Mr.Smith are two of the best ever hollywood performances, if not the two very best all things considered.
De una, esta es mejor
so funny classic
Nice suit
Glad movie 😁
Watching Margaret Sullivan reminds me that girls used to attend finishing school- you would swear today's actresses attend unfinishing school.
I love her pock a dot blouse..
She's awful. lol.
she treated him like a dog lol, but Margaret Sullavan was so talented. They did four films together and both played such different characters in all of them, and all four were really good
Sunny Zeddy Cy for me I can feel the great chemistry between the actors. It’s so powerful. I couldn’t help laughing to so many of their lines
@@sunny_zeddy_cy it means she likes him she explain it at the end
