HiddenXperia, In your opinion could the Genesis Device as seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan be used to reliably sterilize/restore a flood infected planet?
I know you don't really do theories but I'd love to hear what someone who knows the lore like you do thinks would happen if someone developed the Spartan project in the star wars universe to counter the clones just in case. Or vice versa let's say the humans have a jedi council pre insurgency war, do they find diplomatic solutions before the Spartan program could get the green light? If so how would having only jedi and no Spartans affect the war
This just reminds me of how I picked my armor early in Halo games. I ALWAYS wanted an all-purpose suit, with EOD and Hazard protection, it's why I loved Jorge's armor and using the filter attachment on my Reach Spartan.

You missed out on a visor from halo 5, the Gallows visor. The description says "Made for special forward observation teams operating in quarantine zones, failsafe charges in the Gallows VISR will destroy the helmet (and everything in it) in case of compromise."
North I was just about to comment this:)
>CORRUPTER...
I would never wear a helmet with a visor that would kill me. Seems like I’d always be scared of malfunction.
Glad I wasnt the only one who noticed this
North see this is what I was saying, the suits need to be able to destroy themselves or at least damage themselves beyond repair to prevent the flood from using the armour against other spartans

Contain the flood and get out of there. CORRUPTER gives unlimited REQ points and access to HAVOKs but means friendlies move to a safe distance, as per UPSILON protocol

@@madclone84 While, yes, the military uses the CBRNE acronym, the Halo franchise excludes the E portion in its acronym, most likely due to the fact that EOD armor exists or the fact that the CBRN armor doesn't usually include any up-armored segments to protect against Explosions.
Why both radiological *and* nuclear?
@@erindonnelly8283 I would guess one is for radiation in general while the other is for fallout from nukes
A katana would be a horrible idea for a spartan to use. They are so brittle that an enhanced human, especially with Mjolinir would break a katana easily. It wouldn't be on purpose, the sheer force of their swing, combined with hitting something that presents a bit of resistance, the blade would shatter. A longsword or broadsword would be a much better sword for a spartan. The brute force and resiliency of the blade would ensure less breaks
Ikr, katanas are overrated as hell. Give me a long sword anyday.
Thank, you. I don't see why people think the Katana is better than other swords, It's fucking annoying, they weren't sharper or tougher than European and other cultures blades and yet.
It would depend on the material it was made of.
A katana-style blade made from the same ultrahardened material a Spartan combat knife is might work wonders.
@@KillerOrca or the metal prometheans are made of. The same metal that Mantle's Approach is made out of when it was shrugging off direct hits from ODPs
yes, but it wouldn't work better than other types of bladed weapons, for instance, an arming sword and buckler which would 1.) take up less space allowing for use in more cramped close quarters situations and 2.) would allow for defensive use of the buckler to keep flood from getting onto the Mjolnir in the first place. also, Katana sword styles have very wide swings not allowing the Spartan to deal with large numbers as efficiently as other weapons. It's not the material I'm annoyed by, it's the over saturation and god-tier status taht people give the katana that makes me annoyed.
It just feels weird. The forerunners couldn’t stop them with their suits being apparently 14 levels of power higher, but in the lore humans can create suits that have a chance? I know the flood were far more powerful when fighting the forerunners but still...
Well the reasoning for that is because during the Forerunner-Flood War, the Flood had already taken over many worlds, and as such had both forerunner, advanced human, and other tech to use. In Halo CE-5, they had to start over, with the dame tech Humans and the Covenant have. As such, they're much weaker.
To be fair. For an advance alien race, the Forerunners weren't that smart.
In Halo 1 343 guilty spark says the out dated armor is more effective and a good choice. Keep in mind he was confusing Spartan armor for forerunner
@@architech8107 precisely, the Flood uses the strengths of the faction it's trying to consume against them, by infecting and taking over individuals and tech. Plus, the Silentium-era Flood had numerous entire worlds whose entire ecosystems were wholly-converted into flood Gravemind, forming what are known as Keyminds. With this hivemind power, they were able to control the indestructible Precursor artifacts such as star Roads, Unbending filaments, citadels and planetary Fortresses (this is all said in Silentium) with abandon and strike where and when they please, wheras the Forerunners in this era were neck-deep in crippling political corruption, initial negligence to recognize the Flood for what it was, previous near-demilitarization after their victory against Ancient Humanity, and clogged Slipspace travel due to reconciliation time-debt. The Flood we're a lot more powerful back then.
You have to remember, this video is basically bullshit in terms of Canon and their use fighting the flood.
I really enjoy Hellcat, didn't realize it was taken form ancient human tech but I can definitely see it.
First time I saw Hellcat armor, I thought of the Vex from Destiny.
This just made me think of how cool a COD Zombies style flood mode would be and these suits be gotten through a mystery box. *God the flood has so much potential in Infinite*
The flood hasINFINITE potential macho
Notice me senpai.
I litetaly had the same exact idea (-getting armor in mysterybox) of a halo flood mode similar to cod zombies.
Like a powerup?
That sounds dumb. Halo needs to take a better approach with their undead. Not another COD zombies. Flood waves is something we all want but they better not copy COD. Waiting for the waves to start, mystery boxes for good weapons, and a game that revolves around grouping and running around the enemy. The flood are like a hive mind. The flood mode in Halo should feel like the ultimate enemy. Employing incredibly effective strategies and tactics on the battlefield. As they are a collective mind increasing in wisdom and knowledge with every victim it consumes Adapting to every situation it confronts. Playing against the flood in a flood mode should feel like you're facing death itself. Trying to outwit it and buy enough time to escape. A problem I see with COD is you have to run around the map until you either get bored or eventually mess up. Halo flood mode should be a huge map working as a maze. Running into dead ends or failed attempts to escape. Maybe see how the flood outbreak unfolds. Holding the flood back while you run for the exit. Or locking yourself uo with the flood to prevent the flood from escaping or getting past the door to your teammates. This game can be REALLY badass. Just needs some thought and time to be done right.
Ah yes another video from the lore master
^
Perhaps he works for the Sanheilli version of ONI, intending to expose their crimes to the Human population.
A good cross section of Armor systems here, but what bothers me about the Lore is that all MJOLNIR platforms are seemingly very capable of dealing with Flood outbreaks and most other scenarios, with very little actual substance differences from suit model to suit model. Personally, I'd like to see actual costs and benefits to each individual armor system in game. Like a CQC makes you more likely to win a close engagement, but makes you weaker to long range. EOD improves survival from explosives at the cost of vulnerabilities to energy weapons.
In truth, all MJOLNIR suits have the same base systems within them. Especially the Gen2 suits. They all have air filtration systems for removal of 100 percent of pathogens from the local atmosphere. They contain a HEPA class 20 filter, a HEGA filter and an ULPA filter for removal of everything but breathable air from the suits internal environment.
Energy shields are good for killing infection forms due to the multilayer electromagnetic fields and enveloped high energy plasma medium. An infection form effectively short circuits the shield at point of contact, discharging the intense energy from the shields into the infection form causing it to "pop".
All MJOLNIR systems cope remarkably well with Flood infections. Air filtration, armor plating, energy shielding, superior reaction times, force multiplying circuits, sealed environment systems, motion detectors, all play to Spartan situational awareness and survivability in hazardous environments.
It's hard to say what features would particularly benefit MJOLNIR over its already comprehensive protective systems, but I imagine superior energy shields, active camo, stronger armor, point defense systems, more energy based weapons, hardlight shielding, larger rebreather capacity, maybe even forerunner slipspace systems allowing the suit to translocate like Prometheans and Soldiers, or even effectively exist outside of normal spacetime but that's pretty far out considering not even the Forerunners implemented this kind of innovation. But I digress.
Plenty of detailed breakdowns of MJOLNIR armor available on my channel including a video on in game armor specs I'd like to see in Halo 6. Have a look if you want! I'd be honoured.
*Halo: Infinity
Halo: Infinite will be the 6th Halo. 343i, I suppose, decided against going with the numbers. (Please don't be one of those people that argues and says it isn't. The tagline for the game literally states; "The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite - the next Chapter of the legendary franchise." www.xbox.com/en-US/games/halo-infinite)
As to your idea, while it'd prove interesting, I could only see it's effects being accepted in story. In multiplayer, I believe such a system would push out the remains of the older Halo community. It would be too large of a jump in gameplay to implement an entire system of such a magnitude without working up to it first.
For instance, sprint, likely a staple feature now, wasn't just added, it went through a progression of sorts. It went from an ability, to a limited sprint, to then an unlimited sprint over the course of three games. And some people still can't wrap their head around such a feature; let alone when it was first a thing, some people outraged.
But curious thoughts. I do like your breaking down of the armor, and how it's kinda lost on how there's all these variants, yet they all basically do the same things from the get go. Seems like there was a plot hole there someone missed when they first designed the lore of the games.

What If a ship was in slip space when the halo array went off, would the occupants survive?
Technically, no. Slipspace travel is like taking a sheet of paper and balling it up. Normal space travel is like having 2 separate points on a sheet of paper and drawing a line from point A to point B. Slipspace travel is the same points on the sheet of paper, but balling it up. It's HIGHLY inaccurate though. But they don't travel fast enough to "outrun" the Halo pulse. They also don't travel to a different dimensional plane. So to answer your question, no. Enjoy!

If standard Mark 5/6 is equivalent as class TWO forerunner combat skins, I want to see what the Class 12 combat skin that Spark mentioned looks like
Jedi Spartan i mean spark had to take 4 spartan laser shots so i guess is like trying shoot bbs at a wraith
@@Chinfu-gb8sk well Spark is a monitor made of an unknown forerunner metal and possibly with a shield, the only reason I mentioned him is because class 12 combat skin is one of the million things he mentions while dragging chief through 4 floors of the library (of which the forerunners were able to build lifts the size of a small room that can only go between 2 floors each)
Jedi Spartan Halsey from book way able to use forerunner texh and repurpose then so she could be able to do the same with metal platings almost making spartans invincible
By Halo's power-scaling, a Class 12 wouldn't even *look* like high-tech armor, it would just *BE* the fucking Martian Manhunter.
Yet you have to wonder, if Chief only has what is basically Tier 2 Combat Skin, and the Forerunners still lost to the Flood with Tier 12, and likely higher? The Chief must be a God.

I love your Flood marathon!!! Now I need those damn Armors!!!
Can you please consider a video discussing the Flood supercell vs The Thing Supercell. Would be very interesting to see which one would be most dominant.
The Thing's supercell would most likely be more dominant since it assimilates *everything* it touches that's organic, even just skin-to-skin contact. The Flood Supercell has to be in the host body, which is accompolished by a Pod infector/infection form latching into the host and then taking control of the nervous system.
Revolver Ocelot Don't forget that the flood spore is airborne and can be breathed in by hosts which converts the body at a slower pace. I'm interested to see an example of how a flood form might react to having been infected by the thing supercell and vice versa.
Let's just remember that none of this would be needed if they left the "weapons" cache alone.

Sorry to be that guy but there's no way in hell a katana is canon
Yeah i believe the rest of the armor
But the katana? I don't see a spartan wearing it for decorative use, and most definitely not for practical use
To be fair, in this same universe, the Reach Grenade Launcher is 400 years old and the cars run on gasoline. The fact that the UNSC weapons are even still ballistic in nature is impressive.
Yeah, seriously.
It's really not a good start to a lore video to insert your cringy weeb fanfiction of Spartans having katanas.
Yet the UNSC is still using mostly ballistic weapons excluding only the Spartan laser and post H3 Gauss cannon.
Closest thing I'd see is some sort of Machete, purpose-made to withstand the strength of a Spartan.
If it *has* to be a sword, a Gladius or Falcata of sorts, which are about the same length as a Machete, with the same utility, just actually designed for combat.
If you want a purpose-made melee weapon for a Spartan, you can't go wrong with a Poleaxe or Bardiche. The shaft gives them reach (which you'll need against the Flood), while the heads can be used for thrusting as well as strikes. You also (unlike with Katanas or other swords of any kind) don't need any extensive training or martial arts skills to effectively use them.

CBRN doesn't say carbon its an acronym for Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear. Its a specialty in the military. They deal with all kinds of nasty things just in case. the helmet attachment is a one-size-fits-all attachment to make all variants of mjolnir more viable in non-conventionally hazardous areas.
Katana are no sharper than any other sword
Technically, the curve of a katana allows for a more effective slicing motion instead of a chopping motion you'd get from a straight sword
James P4G40 doesn't piece well tho like a longsword. Longsword is more viable because it can be use to pummel, cut on both sides and piece.

Tbh i feel like the Trauma Kit from Halo Reach might help too because if you got a slight bit of flood stuff inside of you after an encounter with an infection form or anything else flood like, the Trauma kit may help get rid of that stuff, preventing you from becoming a flood form
Remember, it's for when YOU get hit.
I don't think biofoam is going to do much to stop infections already in there...
There's also a visor in halo 5 called the "Gallows." In case the armor is breached by flood or other biological threat, everything inside the helmet will become destroyed immediately, as well as any data gathered.
spoopy
Imagine thinking a katana is better than a long sword or great sword lmao also a katana would bend and maybe even snap if a spartan used it and they aren't any sharper than just a regular long sword from Europe
I dont think a katana would be effective against the flood for a few reasons 1 its thin and fragile when swung by a spartan it would break.
2 its slow katanas have a small wooden handle and a long steel blade and a minimal hand guard so all the weight is in the tip
Honestly i think a falcion/messer or just any bearing sword would be more effective and fast
Edit also its realy long so against a group of enemy's moving fast
You'd need something short and fast

They really need some armor that shoots arc electricity at anything that approaches
Wonder if elites and any other covenant races made special armor to protect against the flood. Sound like come in handy as bots of flesh exposed could be infected by just a scratch or bite
This is one of my fav channels lol
Love your channel.
Thanks for more lore man reallly love my knowledge increase on Halo
'As sharp as a katana' I'm pretty sure any comparable european sword would do just as good of a job.
And unlike the energy sword the katana takes more than just 10 hits before breaking(unless it's a gold sword in Minecraft)
The "Carbon" Attatchment is actuallty CBRN "See-Burn" (thats how its said) which stands for Chemical, Biological, ,Radiological, and Nuclear. :) I have used CBRN gear before and it takes forever to put on lol.
Probably the HAYABUSA katana is made of more futuristic metals, like a titanium alloy or the same tungsten alloy brutes use on their blades. Probably the weapon can recieve some enhancements, like a heating system that makes the edge go red hot, to not just cut the flood but also burn/cauterize so its pieces don't spread more spores or infested ichor.
Yet thats just a theory, considering the HAYABUSA armor is a shoutout to the Ninja Gaiden main character, maybe as thanks to Konami for having a SPARTAN on Dead or Alive.
We all know that the best weapons against the flood is, Master Chief.
Nice video, love the Flood. Hope they return in some way soon.
Doom guy and master chef team up
doom guy and gordon ramsey would be unstoppable
The hellcat armor was built by Dodge and has a hemi powering it
3:13 CBRN means protective against Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear contaminants
One modification that might help a spartan to fight the flood (( body modifications not armor)) might be a breathing stoma with air hose it would extremely reduce the threat of being strangled when the flood attach to neck
