  • Atar Arad plays the Hoffmeister Viola Concerto with his own Cadenzas. This is the First Mvt., Allegro.

    thanks Atar, I am passing on all the little 'alterations' you have made in this concerto, to my students, letting them know where those ideas have come from.
    I have learned from you more than from any other teacher.

    My favorite recording of this piece. Love the cadenza! Not only does the whole performance feel soulfull but I am blown away by his cadenza sounding like 2 separate instruments playing in tandem

    a very interesting, in my opinion in certain regard bit an "old fashioned" interpretation, however, I like it so much, beacuse it's very convincing, performed with a natural musicality and maturity. Like very much those alterations... The Cadenza feels to me too "contemporary", but this is so wonderfull, that everyone can played according to his own taste...for all interpretation big BRAVO!!!

    @Ariber1 they'd be alterations if Hoffmeister hadn't intended for them. I bet you he really did write those passages like Maestro Arad plays them but the publishers made some huge typographical mistakes!
