Both your videos & Wagners convinced me to pick up the ‘Addams Family’ premium table. Should be here any day & am super excited to check it out in person.
Thanks Ben! As I've said, it is expensive when compared to most 3/4 scale arcades, but considering the features and the much more expensive (and non-licensed) alternatives, it does offer a good bang-for-buck. Which is why I think it's important for a person to know what it is they are really looking for in a vpin (casual use vs fanatic love of pinball).
It would likely cost $2,000 to make this on your own (plus of course a huge amount of time/research/etc). A comparable unit at a place like Extreme is about twice as much and can take up to 6 months to arrive. In that context, this machine is a steal.
You hit the nail on the head. I am waiting for a killer skin / matching table. The Thing would check multible boxes for me, TNG would be awesome. I would be cool if their could be community voting on skins.
a THING model, replete with the art from the poster as a topper, would be incredible. Simply put the words "The Thing" on the side and you're done! Hopefully we'll know the full line-up sooner than later.
Great overview. I see alot of people have two now, Peanuts is the one I would get next if I got a second machine. SSF is must for sure, since the zen's have been rebuilt, I actually prefer playing Native vs my dedicated gaming pc hooked up to my ALP 4KP and its running a 12900k 3080ti at 4kp, its looks better on the gaming pc but the game play and audio is superior native.

@@evilgeniusentertainment Well, that’s why they introduced a starter model with no frills to see if that would move more units. Doubt it really moved the needle. I just recently bought a ALP HD and was hooked from the get go. I've loved real tables for most of my life and didn't know if I'd like Vpin, but now I know! I have a very low spec PC connected to it via OTG and I play all of my Pinball FX tables almost nightly. All of this to say that after the first of the year (or when a can't miss skin variant comes out) I plan on buying a 4k and doing the same but with a high end PC.
Always enjoy your videos but it’s ironic this video came out during ANOTHER outage from AtGames where people can’t sign in and play their games unless they set them for offline mode. This is the 3rd or 4th MAJOR outage for them in under a year.
Yeah, I found out about when I was uploading the video! In one way, I suppose it's a good thing as it (likely) means a lot of demand from the many owners. One way to deal with this is to be able to switch over to off-line mode without having to be on-line (a feature I highly advocate them adding).
Hey buddy, yes I’m trying to talk my wife into us getting the 4K pinball machine next year.I am not jonesing for these themes, I would enjoy a Twilight zone, or scooby doo,or a disco one would be cool, love your show,we watch all your work.
Disco! My God man! Er, I mean you could re-skin one and simply use a disco ball as a topper (which would actually be kinda sweet). I'd guess that we'll get a few more skins announced either for NOD in February, or at CES in April.
I like the size because the room I have real pins in, this fits just by the door and doesn't block the door entry, a real pin would. So this sits next to 3 real pins due to the door otherwise it would be an empty spot. I am waiting to see if Zen will get licensed for Star Wars on this pin and we get a Star Wars theme to put into my Star Wars collection room.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I dragged it into the middle of the room! The machine's basic size does it the sweet spot between a real-world pin and the smaller 24" playfield models.
@@evilgeniusentertainment Yeah, it's just slightly smaller than the real thing, and if you don't have real pins in the room sitting next to it to compare it to, you don't really think about it being smaller.
After I was done shooting the episode last night, I cued up TX SECTOR and played for about an hour (when I had no intention of doing so), just b/c it is so much fun. One of the things I should have mentioned is the sheer variety in the type of games - a little bit of everything.
As a owner of several real pinball machines and former owner of the AG HD Pinball, this machine has quite a lot to offer. But, I’d rather soak $2500 into a real pin. I also have to mention that I had several problems with firmware updates on my AG HD pin that made the game unplayable at times. Also, if their server goes down, the machine turns into a giant brick. So, just remember, the AG support is total crap, so be prepared. There are quite a lot of good deals out there for real pins. I just picked up a 1997 No Good Gofers in great condition and there is nothing like a real pinball machine. Yes, it’s only a single table, but the sound, mechanics, rattles and bangs are worth it. I’m currently restoring a 1984 Williams Space Shuttle that I picked up for only $650 and once it’s completed, I will have about the same amount invested in it as a AG 4K pinball. ($2500). So, to sum up, the AG machine is a pretty good virtual pin and if you want lots of different tables for less than $3k go for it. But, don’t be fooled to think it will be like a real pin in any way, because it absolutely is not. It’s not for me because I already have a A1Up pin with the Switch mod and I can play all the pinball tables available for the switch, including Star Wars, Marvel, Williams, Pinball M, Fx3 and Fx. Best part is, I picked up the A1Up pin for cheap and all in with the mods it only cost me $400 total. That being said, I think it would be quite nice to have one sitting next to my real pins, just wish they made it full size and fixed the online problems.
The problem with real pins is multiple - availability, price, reliability/maintenance, only one game per machine, size. I suspect people looking seriously at a 4KP (or any vpin) have already rejected real pinball b/c of the issues I listed. That's why there's been so much interest in the Wonderland pin, and in Ambassador Electronic putting out a 3/4 scale pin.
That IMO is the only true reason not to get the machine (other than affordability) as it's a bit wee if you want a vpin that's the same size a real pin.
@@evilgeniusentertainment I actually use mine as a 2 screen setup because I hate the small DMD. The tiny DMD bothered me more than anything. I would rather a 42" playfield, hopefully that's in their next model. I honestly don't think the 32" is that bad though. I debated buying a full fledged unit but I really don't want to spend like 8k. I wish there was an upgraded one a company sold for maybe 3-4k. One thing I do like about the 4kALP though is being able to just plug a PC into it. GPU's get outdated, I wouldn't want to have to open up a normal VPIN and upgrade it.
As the zen tables on the alp cost a 5er a table or sometimes more its all add ons that will never stop and in time youll end up spending the same or near to a higher end vpin cab.
Gotta disagree with you there - even assuming you bought every table there is, you'd still be nowhere near even a base level Xtreme pin. The key element is that you CAN buy these games a la carte. You don't have that option on any other pin - including the Xtreme tables. Conversely, you need not buy any more pins at all if you're happy with what you have.
Thanks for mentioning TNG! I would have been so excited to have gotten this earlier this year with a TNG skin, but now I'm kind of over it. They made it so confusing with all these different options, deals, shipping, kits, and styles. They should have made one model and let people choose the skins a year ago.
I love AtGames and what they're trying to do, but I agree about both the myriad of buying options and offering different skins for the same basic model (which is essentially what ends up happening anyway). There is one aspect that we don't know about though - whether or not they can get the licensing for the skins; whether or not they need to "prove" to the license holders that the units will sell. Put another way, I'm positive AG knows certain skins would be popular (ST:TNG, CREATURE) and would put them out sooner if they could.
They just delayed the remaining packs for 2024 till further notice because of their software issue. So no History packs, Zen 2 pack with Wild West and Sorcerers Lair or Sea of Thieves
Well, I guess we'll just have to limp along with the existing 200 tables! And not to put too fine a point on it, but I think AG learned a valuable lesson about putting out tables that weren't quite ready for prime-time when the lag issue bit them on the butt. I'd rather them get it right the first time vs simply putting out a table because of a previously announced release date.

Another great video as usual. The Legend Pinball 4KP is not pricey for what it offers in my opinion. Great video with many good points about why this is the home arcade product of the year for 2024. The opimization of the Zen tables makes this my favorite way to play. Simplicity wins! The SSF sound also was a game changer!
Thanks Brad! I'm about to do my top 5 products of the year, but I don't think it'll be any surprise what's number one on my list! SSF kit, the Zen games (and their optimization) do truly make this a great product. It is pricey, but it's also fair value for what you get.
Yes, I did receive a review unit, yet much of what I say is undeniably true - the lack of other vpin options, the expense of real world pins, the ability to download games, the excellent SSF kit, the build quality, etc etc. All objectively true. Now whether or not this is a product that appeals to you, or whether or not you trust is of course up to you.
Zen is already licensed for Star Wars and Marvel as they are on the Arcade1Up pinball machines. Why can't they just port them over to the 4klp? Love my ALP. Zen games could use the 3d treatment.
Could they technically? Of course. But A1up may have exclusive rights, and even if they don't the rights to STAR WATS and Marvel are probably too expensive for a relatively small company like AG.
Well, you're not to first to point this out! I'm advocating AG let us switch to off-line mode even when we're not on-line for reasons like this. Another reason is that plenty of us (including myself) have very spotty internet at the best of times. Hopefully we'll get this feature soon.
Thank you Peteg, you are correct sir. Went on after commenting and was not happy. Spent too much on these tables for them to be taken away by a connection problem. Thanks. 🖖🏼
Well you can - but only if you've already switched over to non-internet mode (but you need the servers to be working to do so). But tgenerally speaking you're right - this has become a huge, must be dealt with correctly & immediately, problem for AtGames. They must add the ability to play the machine even if their servers go down.
Well, they "overcame" it by spending a huge amount of money! A1up was probably as flush with cash as it ever would be when it bought those licenses. Another aspect is that A1up is selling those STAR WARS & Marvel tables new in box and may well still have exclusive rights to do so.
@@evilgeniusentertainment Another indicator of this expense is the Disney Titles being cut from the latest Sams Club Legends ultimate release. I am hopeful that we may get the tables, while I think machine artwork would be a long shot. It is a shame too because I love a good amount of the art that Arcade1up put on their machine.
@@petermacnab1871 The tables exist locally. but you have to be online to log in, in order to activate offline mode. That's something they should fix. You should be able to log in with your name and password locally, irrespective of Atgames having their servers functioning or not.
Peteg475 - I actually agree with this: you should be able to switch over to off-line mode regardless of being signed in or not (today's outage a prime example of why).
I have a VPin from Xtreme Gaming Cabinets Australia - and my machine fromXGC beats them hands down. XGC is without doubt the best in the whole for of VPin - I have this and I can prove it
I agree with you. That company makes the best vpins in the world. Problem is the cost and yes I know it's worth every penny. Just can't swing it though unfortunately. Maybe someday. Congrats on your machine. Been watching them for couple year's. That company's machines are legit epic!
Xtreme makes an amazing table, but it is completely apples and oranges. First - and most importantly - their tables are vastly more expensive; essentially double what the 4KP cost to get something similar. 2nd, it can take 6 months or more to receive it once ordered. The tables aren't licensed, and to add more requires a knowledge of VPX/Future Pinball. Essentially, you enter the realm of being a hobbyist with their (or other) similar tables. AtGames eliminates all that.
Well, that assumes of course that there will be a next gen! Obviously no guarantee of that. If there is, I'm guessing you're looking a 5 years minimum for that to happen. If you want something more powerful for the same price, I'm afraid you'll have to build it yourself.
A great, albeit pricey, machine that for many people could be the one and done vpin for years to come - but is it too expensive for your needs?

@@Tim_York You can't. You have to log in to switch to offline mode, and you can't log in with the servers being down. It's crazy.
Thank you Peteg, you are correct sir. Went on after commenting and was not happy. Spent too much on these tables for them to be taken away by a connection problem. Thanks. 🖖🏼
Tim, the good news/silver lining is that I think AG will be forced to rectify this issue moving forward... at least, let's hope so!
This is a great machine, but when the server is down, you can’t play the games
You paid for. That’s a big negative.
Well you can - but only if you've already switched over to non-internet mode (but you need the servers to be working to do so). But tgenerally speaking you're right - this has become a huge, must be dealt with correctly & immediately, problem for AtGames. They must add the ability to play the machine even if their servers go down.
Why don't you think Star Wars or Marvel will come anytime soon on the ALP 4K?
Licensing is very expensive, i think. Disney charges a lot
@@peteg475 Arcade1Up was able to overcome that on their tables.
And we can't use it as the servers are down. Ha. BS. Need to be able to put the tables to the machine like the alp hd.
You can put the tables offline . Check the settings
@@peteg475You SHOULD be able to do that but you currently can’t. There is a lot they can do to improve that experience but they haven’t.
@@evilgeniusentertainment so you can’t switch to offline mode unless you are logged in ?
I have a VPin from Xtreme Gaming Cabinets Australia - and my machine fromXGC beats them hands down.
XGC is without doubt the best in the whole for of VPin - I have this and I can prove it
I agree with you. That company makes the best vpins in the world. Problem is the cost and yes I know it's worth every penny. Just can't swing it though unfortunately. Maybe someday. Congrats on your machine. Been watching them for couple year's. That company's machines are legit epic!
Thanks yes It’s a shame you can’t afford their machine because I must say it is money well spent for me at least .
So much fun and worth it 😊
Xtreme makes an amazing table, but it is completely apples and oranges.
Shoot, I wish I could afford them too! Great machines... but a completely different sphere of vpin then AtGames.
Hopefully one day you can show there machine on the site 👌
the 4k is under powered wait till next gen
Well, that assumes of course that there will be a next gen! Obviously no guarantee of that. If there is, I'm guessing you're looking a 5 years minimum for that to happen. If you want something more powerful for the same price, I'm afraid you'll have to build it yourself.
uHD is 4k...so The machines not 4k
The machine/screen is 4K, as are all the non-Zen games. But besides that, you're 100% correct!
