Great reaction to one of the most fun and certainly my favorite song they do live. Freddie just has such a spin to the song in concert, that it makes you feel like you have never heard it before. The normal band line-up since the 60's was always rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass and drums. Only when I see Freddie with his white guitar in this song, I think about that nobody ever misses a second guitar in Queen. Brian does it all on his own. And that song was one reason for their need of an additional piano player on their tours from 1981 on. We even saw Spike Edney hitting the keys in this song. Also, Freddie wanted to move around more on stage, and didn't wanted to be nailed on the piano seat that often. Freddie admired Jimi Hendrix in his youth, and was practising a lot on his guitar, according to his mother, so I think he could play quite well.
You didn't catch the part in the book where tells the story that Freddie was in the bath when he got the inspiration for the song. He called out to Ratty (or maybe it was Mac?) to bring him his guitar and he worked out the music (and lyrics?) right there in 10 min. Thanks for reaction! Great reaction!

My heart aches for him a bit this night as I see the exhaustion early on as he knows the rock he's climbing. Three quarters in, there's a bit more fun creeping in, relaxing a tad. He's giving all he can - there's a feeling when the wheels are spinning yet you are not getting there, so you have to detour down and go where that takes you. Every performance is special - all about the energy of the moment and being present. It was different for him that night. But every audience member is on his side.

Great reaction as always, Hap! I always forget how awesome this song was at Wembley. Also, your guitar comment made me remember - you should check out Roger's solo song "The Unblinking Eye!" Roger is a good guitar player and he can play piano - write a lot of his songs using piano. . Brian said he’s an extremely good bass guitarist too. Not really fair having so much talent in a band of only four people . Great reaction Hap, loved it.
Always love the ''READY FREDDIE?'' by Roger, so iconic. It's pretty cool how for Crazy Little Thing Called Love Brian switches the guitar mid song just for the Sound and style. 5:35 well actually its pretty normal. Especially with Metallica you have Lead Singer James Hetfield, Singing but at the same time he is playing Rhythm Guitar, then the Lead guitarist Kirk Hammett plays together with James but Kirk is the one doing the shredding guitar solos. Same with Queen here, Freddie is on Rhythm Guitar while Singing and Brian is the lead guitarist supporting Freddie and the one doing Solos ;D. Great Reaction as always. Would be cool if you react to Metallica's Master Of Puppets.
Oh, come on, how did you know I wanted to hear this song today? Having wizard classes in Hogwarts?🧙🏻🧙🏻🧙🏻 Wembley is so much funnnnnnnn... Thanks, Hap, you're the best ❤️🤠❤️🤠

Back in the 70s they done a gig in Glasgow and had some equipment stolen from their lorry and Brian almost lost his RS. In '77 his RS was close to being destroyed after Brian crashed his car on black ice on his way home from recording We Will Rock You
The high end of a few of the notes is because Freddy is emulating Elvis’ ‘vocal hiccup’ that Elvis would do on some of his 1950s rockabilly recordings. At 9:10 Freddie pointed at the Brian, John and the guy at the piano, after he did a sing to Roger for them to improvise over the piano structure. They were doing a few thing after the last chord, when Brian "improvised" (although always at a kown base, like in Impromptu). At this time, Freddie ask them to "repeat" the impromptu between John, Brian and the guy at the piano (whose name scape me at this time). Thats why you see Brian and John beside the piano, to see in what key they will do it. They know the time, they know the rythm, but they need the key. With that set, a second round of "playing" started. What a great era. Now you need to say to the person running the tape of the playback to repeat a section hahaha.
He was pointing to Brian, to end it with the riff, but brian shook his head saying no..... so freddie on the mike said... "OK A LITTLE BIT MORE" thats how in que they were

they did a lot after live aid.. unfortunatly not Queen finished their world tour for the works in may 85,live aid in july they then recorded magic album september 85 to april 86 after a six months brake 86 Freddie did a single hold on with joe Dare And two tracks for Dave Clarke musical the magic album was mainly the soundtrack for the film Highlander they then only did this europe tour I can't find any information on why they had planned a short tour, there's no info saying anything was cancelled but had it been longer I'm not sure if Freddie could have coped you wouldn't know it by his performance, but this was their last tour, when they finished Freddie didn't say but according to Mary and Jim he realised something was seriously wrong he just said to the band I'm racked in pain I'm fking done with touring,at the time they just thought he was in a bad mood and tired 87 Freddie did a single, cover of the great pretender he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer and aids in April he was supposed to be doing his second solo album which he started with mike moran but they then did an album with montsarat, first opera cross over,so pleased he got to do this, wish they had more credit for it,Barcalona album was finished june 88 Queen then started to record the miracle album which was released may 89,despite not touring it still reached no 1 uk Roger had started his own band the cross in 87 and did three albums with them, when that came to an end he did some more solo albums I don't know if it was just down to Freddies illness but Innuendo on wiki states they recorded march 89 to nov 90 but this seems odd But roger recorded mad bad and dangerous album end of 89 Not clear when Brian recorded his solo back to the light it just says 88 to 92 It was released sept 92 Edit I wish Freddie had gone back to doing his solo album between miracle and innuendo

really liked vince but he wasn't willing to tour with him incase it didn't work out then ended up with Bill who was bad news

I was wondering the same thing....and thought maybe it was just me!! He looked unusually serious in this one for sure.... was there a reason!?!???
It wasn't the last song. They came back and did 4 more. You should do a full concert. And please do more with commentary from Montreal. They're fun 🥰
Brian plays 3 different guitars during this song alone. If you watch Live Aid again you’ll notice the 3 different guitars for sure lol
I think this is inspired by Elvys and rock and roll era. The way he sings and even the silly lyrics.
You should react to Roger’s solo song The Unblinking Eye (Everything is Broken) you will see Roger playing all the instruments x
the book didn't say this was their first no 1 in the us?
off their 1980 album the Game but the single was released oct 79
in 1980 John ABTD was released off the same album and got their second Us no 1
perhaps - but I will not read all three pages. :)

Fair enough but I would expect it to be at the top!
Pretty big deal
Long time no sée !! Hope all is well with you... Great reaction !!
Brian plays 2 guitars in this video the Red Special and ... ?
If you haven't done it yet please! Do Roger Taylor's Say it not so . I believe it is about getting the news of Freddie's passing. His voice makes this song really impactful. 🎧🎤
John was probably drunk lol
they did a lot after live aid..
unfortunatly not
Queen finished their world tour for the works in may 85,live aid in july
they then recorded magic album september 85 to april 86 after a six months brake
86 Freddie did a single hold on with joe Dare
And two tracks for Dave Clarke musical
the magic album was mainly the soundtrack for the film Highlander
they then only did this europe tour
I can't find any information on why they had planned a short tour, there's no info saying anything was cancelled
but had it been longer I'm not sure if Freddie could have coped
you wouldn't know it by his performance, but this was their last tour, when they finished Freddie didn't say but according to Mary and Jim he realised something was seriously wrong
he just said to the band I'm racked in pain I'm fking done with touring,at the time they just thought he was in a bad mood and tired
87
Freddie did a single, cover of the great pretender
he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer and aids in April
he was supposed to be doing his second solo album which he started with mike moran but they then did an album with montsarat, first opera cross over,so pleased he got to do this, wish they had more credit for it,Barcalona album was finished june 88
Queen then started to record the miracle album which was released may 89,despite not touring it still reached no 1 uk
Roger had started his own band the cross in 87 and did three albums with them, when that came to an end he did some more solo albums
I don't know if it was just down to Freddies illness but Innuendo on wiki states they recorded march 89 to nov 90
but this seems odd
But roger recorded mad bad and dangerous album end of 89
Not clear when Brian recorded his solo back to the light it just says 88 to 92
It was released sept 92
Edit I wish Freddie had gone back to doing his solo album between miracle and innuendo
❤️❤️ you got it!! 😎
❤️
Enjoyed the reaction. Do you ever do reactions to the band Heart? Their better known songs are Barracuda, Crazy on You, Alone, If Looks Could Kill, Heartless, Magic Man.
Queen is always better live!!
Tongue in cheek Freddie. Have you done any beatles ?
Please react to "another one bites the dust" live at Wembley
good
you should react to disco deaky moments
That'd be fun!!!! :)
Question for some music critics: why can't people just accept that they were made the way they were. 3+10+2024
