Hi, the good-on-close orders simply mean that the order will be executed at the close of the trading. These orders are generally market orders, so they are also called market orders. Traders generally put up these on-close orders when they want to trade at the same price as that day's published closing price.

if your example at 7:45, there are 5000 shares at 88, does that mean 5000 shares will be sold?
