I love lilac! A good affordable lilac fragrance is Pacifica's French Lilac -- a photorealistic lilac to me -- pretty much wears like a soliflore. cheers, Marisa
I have that too. Really nice scent and the price is right. "A blend of lilac, magnolia leaves, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, hyacinth and subtle notes of nectarine. "
A drop d'issey by Issey Miyake is an amazing lilac perfume if you just want the lilac flowers and it is very powerful and long lasting. So fresh it smells just like a lilac Bush in the spring.
You left out Highland Lilac of Rochester! It was worn by five first ladies of the US, and Rochester has the largest lilac festival in the world! It's divine!
To me, lilac is the most sensual fragrance. It-- not tuberose-- is the carnal flower. My favorite? Rochester Highland Lilac. NH is the Lilac State. They got this right. It smells like the boysenberry-colored lilacs in my front yard -- they smell different from white lilacs and blue or pink lilacs. This was the theme of my wedding. I had white lilacs in my bouquet. I wore Mary Chess White Lilac. Unfortunately, they no longer make Sung Sha, because that one was great, too. I am wearing Rochester Highland Lilac today. I put a tiny spritz in the hollow of my throat at 7:00 this morning and can still smell it at 5:30PM.
The Arnold Arboretum which is run by Harvard here in Boston has an amazing collection of lilacs. Over 400 plants and 179 types! The range of smells coming from them is something to behold, Sebastian.
THANKS GOD!!!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR "Issey Miyake a drop d'issey" FOR A YEAR AND I FINALLY FOUND IT!!!!! I loved that fragrance but totally forgot the name I have been looking for it ever since and never found it, until today when I saw the thumbnail of your video and recognized the bottle, you have saved me, I hope your side of the pillow is always cold, THANK YOUUU!!!! ❤
I just ordered the new Issy Miyake this morning! 💜 My lilac bush is blooming outside right now & it smells so good! I’m using the Fresh Cut Lilacs hand soap from Bath & Body Works too. Such a longstanding springtime memory!!
Roja Dove has a Lilac extrait, that smells like lilac, but lilac is not listed in the notes; apparently the accord was created with heliotrope, violet and oakmoss. That was the most photorealistic lilac perfume that I smelled to date. Beautiful!
Pacifica French Lilac....is surprising really nice !!! Lilacs are/were my favorite flower growing up. We had 4 huge lilac bushes in our backyard....heaven !!! I want to sample the Amouage Lilac Love and the Moderne Desarmant ....and the Fath one.
Ooooo , Frederic Malle En Passant sounds good to me. This year I want to buy just two parfumés, En Passant and Lilly of the valley from Cartier because it reminds me of Romanian (my country) springs where Lilly of the valley are the first flowers who bloom very early in the spring. Here in Ontario we do not have spring . I can’t wait to buy this two En Passant and Lilly of the valley from Cartier
I agree, so realistic. And the best gardenia fragrance from that line from Yves Rocher. Lucky to still have bottles of both. Sad that they’re discontinued.
I adore lilacs! Alas, I no longer live in a clime that supports them. If I had to pick only one bloom with which I could scent myself in perpetuity, it would be lilac. Lilacs and crabapple blossoms are the scent of my youth. Not all flowers have the moxie to succeed as a soliflore - but lilacs do. Eternal spring and melancholy youth, washed with dew and the most beautiful pastel colors. Lilacs.
My granmother wore a lilac from I think caron but can't remember the name. It always smelled gorgeous on her. But I don't have anything lilac for me. I will check the Amouage and the A Lilac A Day. Thank you for another excellent video.
😊 today i got my en passant decant and like it a lot. It instantly reminded me of that wonderful lilac tree in front of my grandmas house. a light floral that makes me feel like spring. Beautiful 🙂
Ooh lilac is oh so good. I have been buying up samples of Lilac scents and know 5 of the 10 here. I will buy or find a way to sample the rest. This is the king of flowers It's the best smelling flower to me I love it.
Thank you for your video. Lilac is my favorite scent, but it's so hard to find in a long lasting perfume, especially one that isn't overpowered by other notes. I'm now looking forward to trying some of your suggestions. 🙏
Lilacs remind me of spring at least the smell and the look of the flowers but never owned any lilac perfume. I will take your recommendations and order a few samples.
i love the smell of lilac flowers! You are right, there are not many perfumes that feature the note unfortunately. The only one i tested so far is trussardi-my name. it's really nice! it also has violets and vanilla, so it's also sweet and powdery. I am really eager to test lilac love, the drop d'issey and the lilas exquis, they really sound like my cuppa tea
Lilac Path by Aerin and En Passant are my absolute favorites! I have 2ml of Vilhelm Lilac a Day, 2ml Amouage Lilac Love, and small 15ml of Lila’s Exquis by Jacques Fath. Vilhelm is way too cut grass green for me, I hardly smell any lilac because the green attacks. Lilac Love is grandpa leaning for me, with the cacao, tonka & patchouli, I don’t like it at all (on me) but I wonder if I could get my husband to wear it, it is a great fragrance. And Lila’s Exquis by Fath is still too green and sharp for my taste, but I’m keeping that one for the adprable cute bottle! 😅 Honestly I was super super bummed by Lilac a Day because I wanted a Vilhem bottle really bad, but none of their fragrances make me crazy. Opus Kore almost made me buy it but it’s just pretty, it’s not intoxicatingly beautiful like I want. Love your channel so much and appreciate all your videos!
Ok I’m very late to this but I’ve been going down a lilac rabbit hole because I was remembering a scent called Crème Bouquet by Stilla from the early 2000s. It was a beautiful creamy lilac scent. I adored it at the time but it’s discontinued. I’ve heard that A Drop d’Issey is similar! 👀
Lilac is the first note that got me interested with scents when i was a kid. They existed in these soft rubber balls that you break to release fragrance.. i remember the lilac ones smelling the best. Im still using lilacs scents for my toilets lol
First video on lilacs I have seen on UA-cam. Been waiting for it but somehow I knew you would be the one to do it first. I'm going to check out your first three since those got you into enjoying lilac perfume. Thank you for a great video.
Give me lilacs and peonies for the rest of my life and I'd be a happy man forever. When there used to be road side stands selling gladiolas which were my grandmother's favorite we'd have to stop. In Michigan where I'm from there were huge lilac bushes. That was the time when you could buy great ripe berries and peaches especially. Now it's all for shelf life and you barely can pick up a scent and they're underipe, hard. Thanks Sebastian.
Thank you so much for this video, Lilacs are my all time favourite natural scent, I wait all year for those two weeks of them blooming! I have been wanting to buy myself a perfume for a long time now(buying a perfume is a big luxury for me), and I was hoping to find a nice lilac scent :) This video was exactly what I needed, hopefully I can find one to fit me!
I was so excited about the new Issey and loved the opening and part of the mid. BUT, I felt like the ambroxan took over in the dry down and irked me. I think the ambrox lends a masculine edge, too.
Have you ever smelled Love, Chloe by Chloe? It's "purple" flowe bomb, but unfortunately it's discontinued. I found a person who is selling it's 75ml bottle and I'm not sure if I should blind buy it
hello sir, i've been watching your clips for a few months now and I really like the way you present fragrances and respect your opinion. Currently I am looking for a fragrance for myself , but I just cant seem to find the one I am looking for. To be more on point I would like to find 1 or 2 woody fragrances. Problem is these days there is a lot of oud when they say "woody". I smelled a few fragrances with oud and not a big fan...I might get there in time. Anything alone those lines where the woody is actually the dominant note , not in the background. Thank you in advance.
I'm looking for a fragrance similar to Walmart's "Lilac Romance" body mist. It was sold probably about a decade ago but it's one of my favorite smells and I desperately want more of it. Do you have any suggestions?

Blue bottle 1.2 is an amazing Lilac fragrance. En Passant to me is the most realistic lilac. Sweet Morphine from Ex Nihilo is beautiful as well.
I love lilac! A good affordable lilac fragrance is Pacifica's French Lilac -- a photorealistic lilac to me -- pretty much wears like a soliflore. cheers, Marisa

Lilac is a flower of my childhood 💫🤩🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I love Aerin’s Lilac Path, so fresh, green, & dewy.
Lilac Path from the House of Aerin. I love lilacs as a note in fragrances.
Pacificas French Lilac is pretty spot on!
The Arnold Arboretum which is run by Harvard here in Boston has an amazing collection of lilacs. Over 400 plants and 179 types! The range of smells coming from them is something to behold, Sebastian.
Yes! I'm a medical ethnobotanist and I live in Plymouth. Such an amazing place to visit!
I absolutely adore lilacs... so comforting and nostalgic. Great video, thanks for posting!
I'm from Minnesota. My mother grew Lilac and had giant trees of it in our back yard. Amazing scent.

A nice perfume with lilac is Trussardi My name,it is perfect for spring.
I just ordered the new Issy Miyake this morning! 💜 My lilac bush is blooming outside right now & it smells so good! I’m using the Fresh Cut Lilacs hand soap from Bath & Body Works too. Such a longstanding springtime memory!!
Ooh I wish to have a lilac tree one day!! 🌸🌸🌸
I love Lilac! I have Amouage Lilac Love, Vilhelm A Lilac a Day and Issey Miyake A Drop D’Issey. They are my current favourites and I wear them a lot.
Lilac Love is gorgeous and what started my Amouage obsession actually. That cacao note in it blends so beautifully with the lilac 💜
I love it- so stoked I added it to my collection about a month ago!
Awesome! I just commented that I wish you would do a Lilac list - and here it is!! Next, please do Lily of the Valley!
I really enjoy Pacifica French Lilac. It is simple, sweet, powdery and just lovely.
@RobKY Most of the old line from Pacifica was the same. Shame they discontinued them.
Ooooo , Frederic Malle En Passant sounds good to me. Lilac is soo great! Just got a bottle of Drop d'Issey.
I am sampling Lilac Love right now, and I am loving Sebastian! Lisa
Lilacs , the first thing I planted in my garden. Love them :)
After my Own Heart is lovely. I've recommended it a few times already to some friends who love lilac just as much as I do. 💜
I absolutely love lilac fragrances. My favorite is Desir de Lilas by Yves Rocher. Probably discontinued now 😔
I agree, so realistic. And the best gardenia fragrance from that line from Yves Rocher. Lucky to still have bottles of both. Sad that they’re discontinued.

My favorite is White Shoulders. A marvelous lilac note that is so good in the heat! Men love it!
My Lilac Love decant arrived today 🤤 Great scent.
En Passant is beautiful too.
A lilac a day smells too oldskool for me.
I just discovered Aerin's Lilac Path. It is such a beautiful lilac fragrance.
Ooh love the smell of Lilacs.
This is a pure lilac fragrance like smelling the flower without a lot of other notes getting in the way or competing.
How is the longevity?
It is not a super long lasting fragrance but better than a lot of lighter florals.
Great video! I'm really eager to try Lilac Love! Another lilac-centric fragrance I love is Lilac Path by Aerin!
I love the Lilac Vegetal from Clubman in the summer as an out of the shower freshie.
Ever done a carnation-focused review? I adore carnations, but they are hard to find in perfume.
Among all the Ten Lilac Scents, uhmm.. which can you recommend that's good to wear in a tropical weather? Or good for All Day Wear?
My very favorite flower, i wish they bloomed year round too!
Same here!
😊 today i got my en passant decant and like it a lot. It instantly reminded me of that wonderful lilac tree in front of my grandmas house. a light floral that makes me feel like spring. Beautiful 🙂
I love lilac, and it always bloomed around my birthday (in Chicago), so I always have loved it
Question please. Can men wear floral scents ? Thanks.
Highland Lilac of Rochester is my favorite lilac perfume. That’s my favorite lilac.
Great offerings in this video. I want to check them out.

Guerlain Idylle is my favourite lilac with all its flankers. Beauty!
Thank you for your video. Lilac is my favorite scent, but it's so hard to find in a long lasting perfume, especially one that isn't overpowered by other notes. I'm now looking forward to trying some of your suggestions. 🙏
Did you find one that does not have a lot of other notes and really just smells like fresh lilacs?
@theperfumeguy what's the most masculine or unisex one out of the lot?
Great list and I enjoyed it and me and my wife are going to try these fragrances and have a blessed 🌙
I Love Lilac, one of my favorite flowers....En Passant is my favorite fragrance with Lilac.
I was just out with my dog and I was smelling every lilac blooming. My home scent. I want all of these perfumes now 💖

Oddly enough, En Passant reminds me a bit of Viper Green.
Big fan of Ex Nihilo's Sweet Morphine and Puredistance's Opardu
I wasn't able to get the Ex Nihilo but am aware of it. I didn't know about P Opardu. Will check though! :)
Great job! Great video!
I feel like Gucci Guilty has a lilac note. Anyone know for sure?

I personally agree re Ambroxan but so many people say MFK baccarat rouge 540 which is full of Ambroxan is very feminine leaning! Go figure!! 😀
Love lilac in fragrances and water Lilies 🥰
Weee! I’m excited to watch this video!
I wish I would find this video sooner, it took me soo many hours to find any good perfume with the lilac. Thank you 💜
Perfect spring 🌸🌸🌸
My favourite spring smell! ✌🏽❤️🇨🇦
Mine too!
I love lilac and lily fragrances, so will look into these.🙏💗
Ooh, I would try a lilac a day
What about Yves Rocher’s lilac - do you know that one?
I have heard but I don't know it to own it! :)
Here in Spain tbey stopped salinhg it some years ago, it was my absolutely favorite

Such a gorgeous flower.
Is the liquid in your Lilac Love perfume a reddish ambery orange or is it clear?
DARK RED. Has it changed? I need a new bottle.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Yep, it seems so. I have two bottles; one from a couple of years ago that’s dark red and a more recent one that’s clear that I’m selling (smells different to my nose, much greener than my red one). I contacted luckyscent and they showed me their sample selection that actually varied in colour from red to clear, so there seems to be a new formula!
I seem to recall that lilac is a note that is very hard to create /replicate since you can't get it from the flower, is that right?
I was thinking that maybe you could do a video about perfumers that have done niche perfumes but also name 1 designer fragrance that they did. Can you recognize the dna/signature?
I also don't like the bottle of ISSEY MIYAKE Drop D'Issey, the rubber top feels like cheap toy, although i do like the scent.
And Oh no! I didn't see Lanvin Eclat d'Arpège...
I know call the perfume police!
@@ThePerfumeGuy I know! But they are working on Donut Gourmet Fragrance now.
I know en passant and love it

I love Lilac 😋
