    Our Stryker II will cut the time it takes to generate a point cloud terrain in Civil 3D by orders of magnitude. Civil3D likes to go fast too. :)

    Thank you for the inspiration, I was able to get my point cloud created using Agisoft Metashape into Recap and then into AutoCAD and Revit

      Awesome! Yes, there are a few mapping programs and services out there... I just happened to be introduced to DroneDeploy and really enjoy it's ease of use and quality...

    Hi, have you made a video on how to change a point cloud LiDAR scan that was taken from Polycam and inserted into Revit and change it into a floor plan

    FYI I have seen that the Parrot Drone which starts at $700 works with some of the drone control programs. The cheapest DJI one to work is that is current is the Mavic Pro which is quite a bit more and their old Phantom.

      Yes, but for only 20$ you can use Litchi to automate flights with the "cheaper" DJI drones and still use DroneDeploy to process your maps, etc...

    Is it possible to cut out a hole in the mesh? Say you want to add in a pool to your yard?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  Рік тому +1

      Yes, you will have to use a mesh editing tool (like blender) to cut a hole...

    Thanks! Also you can pop that point cloud into AutoCad Civil 3D and create contour lines.

      You can also download terrain files instead of pointclouds for that!!

    Hey Jeff, just found this video and its absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing! I am trying to figure out the point cloud data for a new building project and I can't seem to figure out the site model in revit. I just had a question about any other software that may be on the less expensive side, 375$ a month for somthing that is only used once a year in my case? Wanted to see if you have a suggestion for someone just starting out and wanting to get a grasp on this type of technology? Thanks!
    James

      I have poly cam on the iPad and it's bad ass. I just got a drone and wanted to ask what you recommend for drone software to do what you did. I would be willing to pay for the one you demoed for a month it's amazing! If you know of another software let me know! Also just thought it would be crazy to hook up your iPhone to a drone with polycam and try that way 🎉

    Very cool video! But in Recap pro with the Recap Photo extension is maybe a better way to go from Photo to pointcloud. Also easier for students because of student licenses.

    I have been trying to do this with my DJI Mavic Air 2 in the last few months after I got the drone in September. I realized after I got it that I really needed to shell out for the Mavic Pro to use it with a lot of the programs out there. But like you, for personal stuff I was not looking to shell out that much. When you say you set the drone to take a picture every 2-3seconds are you talking about the Hyperlapse feature on a DJI drone?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  3 роки тому +1

      Currently, I am just using the camera setting for automatically taking a picture every 2 seconds... I don't think its called hyperlapse. But, I also think you are using a newer DJI App than me... Not sure...

    LOL. Just looked at BimBox PCs. Their PCs are 3X-5X the price of the parts to build them. I mean, a 64GB with a threadripper and a 3060ti for $10K?!?!
    Plus, Revit doesn't need a threadripper, it (mostly) works on one core.

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  2 роки тому

      I don't work for BIMBOX but I can attest that they are great PCs... I don't know about the AMD model but I think that one is designed for processing and using laser scans. The other desktop is the one optimized for Revit... I believe that is why they overclocked the CPU so high,.... to overcome Revit's limitations in that are. Just my guess.
