Toby's book is on it's way. I emailed Toby afer watching this pod cast and was honoured to recive a warm hearted response from him.
Listened to it on audible, it's a great book about a great man and his friends. It's a story about being unapologetically yourself and living life on your own terms.

This hero has been to hell and back literally. Makes you sick footballers are paid millions to roll around on the floor when you have a bloke who had been shot through his spine & couldn't even get the support he needed. What a man. Hat off to you Toby Sir. Thank u for your service to this country.

I am a stand up guy, I try my best in life, I look after friends and family, I do my best by people (strangers and associates alike) I will go out of my way to help someone if I can, I'm successful in business and live a good life, but like my friend Phil here I can only hope to be a percentage of what this guy is! I wish Toby all the best I really do.
I sometimes feel a bit miserable and down with some of the problems I've got in my life, I need to try and remind myself of this guy and others like him next time I'm feeling shit.

Nice name mate all East London legends especially ghetts and kano for me. I agree with you completely it's like during such a dark but inspirational story to hear something about his fiance is a beacon of light coming through. I love these discussions they represent nearly everything about us humans. The good, the bad, the ugly, warts and all.

Respect James for letting Toby share his story. I served with alot of Commonwealth lads especially South African and Fijian lads. An asset to Britain on Telic and Herrick and this blokes humility around what he's gone through is phenomenal
Blown away by Toby's story, extremely inspirational. Toby's made his stamp on me.
I trained to be a counsellor some years ago. I was a UK Samaritan for 10 years and, together with other voluntary work, I feel I have an innate ability to empathize with others. I was deeply moved by Toby`s high functioning empathy skills for others too and. more crucially, his very high degree of self awareness. In my humble opinion, Toby would also make a very effective counselor/therapist. He could build on his existing university education/1st class degree in business, and train professionally to degree level. He could also be very valuable to the MoD, serving military and veterans. I also feel Toby may have greatly benefited therapeutically from your other podcasts. I really enjoy your work, James, and Toby`s interview is, by far, your best. Much respect to both of you. Rarely I feel compelled to leave a second comment. Genuinely blown away by Toby’s strength of character and story. A true true inspiration to people. This is his calling. Inspiring everyone he meets, online and in person.
Your best one yet, by far, a real hero and a not TERRORIST killing British soldiers. The man is truly and inspiration beyond the meaning of the word. Gutted his SF career was cut short and at such a young age. He certainly would have done very well in 22. Respects.

He will always be a member of the most elite club of human being in the world. He has sacrificed an unfathomable amount for our freedom and to protect our way of life. Along with many of his friends who died doing the same. If it weren't for people like Toby, the world would be a frightening place. We can never pay you back for what you have done. Only heard about Toby Gutteridge via Mark Ormrod, (Man Down) another hero sharing a Facebook post. I feel overwhelmed by listening to this, 2 hours of pure honesty and inspiration from someone who literally had to rebuild himself and his life!!! James English literally asks the questions we are all thinking, but in such a way that he draws out Toby’s very deepest and sometimes darkest moments. I am disabled thanks to a chronic illness and sometimes wonder “what’s the point?” But we all have something to give, there is still purpose to being here. Thank you Tony for your Service, Sacrifice and bravery. Your Story is possibly the most inspiring I have ever heard. Everything you said makes total sense. Thank you for sharing it with us, keep on keeping on and I look forward to watching your business grow and hearing much more from you in the future.

Funniest part of this horrible tale of human endurance was when Toby spoke of someone playing Cheryl Cole on the radio over and over.
And James said that would of been enough to put you in a coma. It was just the right light hearted banter needed.
