I hope IFR has good coverage during the race. The official video feed for the Ascent today was basically horrible: no sound, just a camera set up near the finish line so you could see the last 10 seconds of the course.
Sorry I meant to type IRF, which is short for iRunFar. Maybe they'll have a drone or some other way to track the leaders. Even using the official site's timing page is tough, because they can't get real-time data from several of the timing mats because they don't have reliable cell coverage. During the Accent today, they had data from Barr Camp (half way) but not the A-Frame (3 miles to go) or the 1 Mile To Go marker. The official data page will have those splits only after they integrate the data after the race.
Shawn Brennan gotcha! I feel like Ultras won't be widely popular until this live update situation can get figured out. Probably need a mix of cameras on the course plus a helicopter/drone situation.
Pretty slim: - it will be quite hot - the trail state has changed a lot for worse since the record was set - the record holder is local so back in the day he probably rould have ran that trail blindfolded and knows the best line What could play into Kilians favor: The record was set a day after winning the ascent-only race on the same trail.
