Super great comparison vlog Mary! Very detailed and informative! I purchased my Celine Small 16 on August 30, 2023 from the Celine website (it was shipped from Italy) for $5200 CAD (before taxes). It’s shocking to see that just 3.5 months later, this exact same bag is now retailing at $5914 CAD (before taxes). That’s a $700 jump!💰How discouraging. If I had to choose just one bag between the two, it would definitely be the Celine 16. Maybe that’s because I own it so I’m a little bit biased. The quality and craftsmanship of this bag is exceptional and the smell of the leather is sublime! If our dollar was on par with the USD, let me tell ya, I’d be adding many more bags to my collection! I love Canada. I do not love our weak dollar. 😕
Great video Mary. Love both bags and both colours! As for the scratch marks, I have a very vintage 1968 Italian artisanal bag, very similar to these bags. (Mom gave it to me). The interior is exactly like The Sophia. That tells me that The Row is really making a bag that is in the old original way. Love it for that. In the end, they are handbags to be worn. ❤
Jessie’s Style made a video talking about The Row bags, she didn’t talk about the Sofia, but she mentioned most The Row bags look like they were inspired by “vintage Hermes bags” I think the Sofia bag has a lot of similarities to the Constance bag. I own a Constance in Black Epsom, the interior is their Swift leather or smooth lambskin like the Sofia. It seems like The Row is inspired by Hermes craftsmanship, or at least the vintage Hermes style. Which makes sense since the Olsen twins loved using vintage Hermes bags before they made their own brand
The row handbag reminds me of the bag Mia by the Michael Kors Collection 2019. I have it in calf hair made in Italy. From his high end range. Both bags are lovely

I bought the Sofia in the pebbled leather which came in crossbody. The clasp didn't stay closed when I walked. I ordered a second to see if it was an issue and also asked the rep to tighten the lock. Both bags didn't say closed when I walked. Huge deal breaker. Celine won in this case.

This was so helpful because I had to youtube search for this. I love both bags, but I don't like the bulkiness of the Celine 16, nor the padlock. Atm I don't want any faff so I'm drawn to the Sofia because of how simple it is, the structure...I do wish it had the top handle with an option for a shoulder strap (or at least space to put one in)...but that's something maybe for me to overlook.

Yes the Sofia is definitely slimmer and has a cleaner look. Going strictly top handle was a gradual thing for me. Thank you so much for watching❤️
