@@DrSpotless get a f55 mini 5 door and you should be good. Older ones before 2014 were pretty unreliable.

I have a 3 door but my kids are getting bigger. Going for this one next time around.
We have three Mini's in our garage. A Mini cooper convertible, ALL4 Mini Cooper paceman, and a Mini Cooper S. Love them they put a smile on your face every time I drive them.
I just bought a 2003 Cooper S im in love with it 6 speed of course hope the new ones are reliable! want to get a new one!

If you are going to buy one, do what I did and buy the 2.0 Cooper s manual.
Beware of fuel consumption though, only 36-40 mpg.

I’ve driven two of these (courtesy cars); 2014 pre facelift and 2020. I hated the 2014, I couldn’t give this back quick enough to the showroom but the 2020 was a vast improvement...not sure if I’d own on though.

I agree with Jonny the 3 door is the better car. I have a GTI and when I replace it it will be with a 3 rather than a 5 door. Life goes on they say.

But just 145 horsepower? I mean, 0-60 MPH in 8.8 seconds isn't exactly fast.
Vivek Anand Car is about 12-13L OTR. Spend 2-3L on mods. For 15L you have a badass warm hatch which will give the Polo GTI (rumoured to cost 17L) a run for its money. Hot hatch (or warm hatch, in this case) is a niche market. The only one available was the GT TSI which was, let's be honest, a bit slow. If you get a way better car and a three pedal layout for a few lakhs more then I'd buy it in an instant. Moreover, I live in Mumbai so 145bhp and a 0-60 time of 8.8 isn't exactly too slow.
So, it'll do 0-60 MPH in about 6 sec. with mods? Not too bad.
The proportions look seriously odd, the wheelbase is way too long.
A 5 door mini with a JCW body kit and tinted rear windows, looks 10 times better!
It's a shame the new Mini only shares the handling and the looks with the original.
There is so much more that made the original so great...

I like when a team actually reviews the car, because each one has their own opinions, just because one of them likes the car doesn't make it good...
Mini hatch 5dr is model name then they get categorized into mini hatch 5 cooper mini hatch 5 cooper D MINI HATCH 5 ONE

The price they say at the start is incorrect because the 5dr hatch actually starts from £23,595 up to £33,000 depending on base spec and what optional extra are selected at time of purchase and what gear box auto or manual
And the young male presenter is talk out is bum because he said about the rear lights don’t look right and to bulky and stuck out the original first mini by John cooper has light that came out the rear like that hence why bmw did it again for iconic features and nostalgia and to be retro and British and because people moaned the first generation that mini bmw brought out the light where to flat and not characteristic of the mini design bmw can’t win and the rear doors being smaller and not a lot of space to get in is to do with the name mini it’s supposed to be mini but with practical features.
So, it's an updated Maxi then.

You can tell when this team are BSing you. 116HP on a test track ISN'T fun unless you're in something as light as a go-cart.
why in the world would you test a diesel? Why wouldn't you test the Mini S? That would be much more fun.

The problem with the later Minis is that there humongous, seen many on the road and there almost as big as a big volvo yet there very small on the inside.
So, why this over a (fwd) countryman again?

You are missing the point big time. The original Mini was originally called an Austin Seven and was MASSIVE compared to the original Austin 7.
Also the original classic Mini was actually a very similar size to many saloon cars of the era such as a Triumph Herald or Hillman Imp.
In relative terms todays MINI is still a small car. Try parking one next to a Mondeo or a BMW 4 Series if you are still unsure.

BMW 0.5 Series (even if its FWD which means it isnt a true BMW) I call them its not that they are bad its just that they are big for a Mini however the 5 Door one looks horrible compared to the 3 Door

A bad review by fifth gear because they did not show the rear passenger comfort and I could easily make out the rear passenger was seating tight, I think Fiat 500X is better.
Vishwas Reddy We have a Cooper s five door and I can say it's pretty roomy considering the size I sat comfortably in the rear btw I'm 5'9

Its never been a Mini, that famous car finished production in Longbridge in Birmingham back in October 2000.
The Mini was a British owned and designed car, designed by a Greek designer who worked for the BMC company.
The Mini of today, is a German owned and designed creation, using the name of the original car.
The BMW Mini has nothing in common with the true Mini.
The MINI prototype was at the factory when BMW brought it.
Nice car, but hate the way these clowns show off, in normal day driving you would not do it on a public road, do the review of the car, and not how fast you can go in a circle.

Cant see the point of this car. Its no longer small, cute and entertaining, so its pretty much rinsed clean of Mini DNA. So if you want 5 doors and space etc, other cars (e.g. Golf) do it better and cheaper. Also it's fugly - come back the mk2, all is forgiven.....and then there's the new Clubman, dear God.

I've had lots of Minis, proper ones, not Binis. The first Bini wasn't too bad and a decent interpretation/update of the Issigonis classic. However, they're now just taking the piss. BMW still owns the portfolio of ex BMC/BL/AR/Rover model names, so just call it Maxi and be done with it. Muppets with more money than sense will still buy it.

I agree with the part that looks divide opinions. When I first saw it I was astonished and really wanted one! I thought it was very beautiful but the more I looked at it, the less I like it and now I think it is not well proportioned and it looks, well...... ugly.
