Children's Services

HIQA’s Children’s Team promotes safety and quality in some of the children’s social care services in Ireland. To do this, we inspect some of the social care services children access to determine if they are meeting national standards. This means that we visit services, speak with children, their families and other important people in their lives. This includes their carers, staff, social workers or guardians ad litem (a person who represents a child’s views). It is really important to us that children who use these services are safe, respected and listened to.
