You know, the voice acting in House of the Dead games has always been terrible, but I find it impossible to hate. Maybe it's just nostalgia goggles, but the absolute sincerity of this ridiculous story makes for some great high camp.

By 2005 it was still competing against PS2 and the Resident Evil 4 which had been released that year, but still if you could not afford a PS2, those arcades were the best option to play videogames cheaply.
Honestly 3 had some of the better voice acting..... Which isn't saying much. I think the only ones with somewhat decent voice acting was overkill and 4.
The acting isn't so bad. It's the script - which appears to be a direct translation of Japanese script - that makes the whole thing all the more corny.

One thing that has my head scratching is why Death did not attack Daniel Curien when he walked in to help Rogan, unless it’s because he’s a Curien he was created to listen to Daniel
I played this so much on the original xbox. Unlocked so may secrets. The best being the house of the dead 2 as a unlocked game you could play, then unlock all the secrets that game has too. So fun. I can safely say id survive a zombie apocalypse for at least a day.
That's blatantly a SPAS-12 with the serials barely scraped off; the real thing goes between pump-action and semiauto at the flip of a switch. Evidently some kind of selective-fire modification with the forestock basically just serving as a charging handle after reloading. By no means an impossible or implausible setup, just realistically highly impractical between the comically limited ammo capacity of the underbarrel tube mag and the recoil issues that make full-auto shotguns an inherently problematic concept (which would be here made much worse by the absence of stock). An experimental weapon along these lines was actually devised for and field-tested by US Special Forces during the Vietnam War (IIRC a modification of one of the common Remington or Ithaca shotties) but dropped specifically due to those problems. The actual eyeroll bit is how they somehow reload the thing in less than a second... but that comes with the territory in this entire game genre.

El modelo más raro de ver y jugar era el de escopeta doble : el mando era una escopeta imitación de plástico que pesaba igual que una escopeta de verdad y recargabas amartillando
Quien diría que años después hoy en día tendríamos la posibilidad de jugar estén y un montón de títulos en la palma de la mano y gratis en nuestro bolsillo con emuladores..😂@@AlphagonOmegarius

I like this game series, because it feels like, you adapt to these situation, like Fuck these, imma not go easy, and bring out the heavy weaponery like shotgun in this game haha

I played this game on the original Xbox in 2005. Never heard the music until now because I always played with it turned off. I would listen to original music I composed which fit the game a lot better in my opinion.
This was always my least favourite HOTD game. I never liked the mushy graphics, repetitive locations and the reload delay, which is one of the most bullshit things in the entire series.
I’ve been playing this game again on my og Xbox recently and… dear god… the reload is so ass😭 the only time I ever take damage is when I don’t have enough time to react because of the reload. And the stupid sloth and the wheel of fate make me want to cry💀 I play on very hard with max lives and still lose at the end stage of wheel of fate most times 🥲
