285kg Front Squat 325kg Back Squat 202.5kg Snatch in competition, in training 206kg, 196kg in international competition 242kg Clean & Jerk in training, 232 in international competition 245kg clean 262kg jerk from the rack 310kg Snatch Grip Deadlift without straps, best Clean Grip Deadlift 335 180kg Strict press This is from interview Klokov did in 2014.
All those numbers are obviously excellent, but especially his pressing / jerk numbers. 262 jerk from rack and 180 strict press are some insane figures.
Very cool video Gabriel! Klokov was an inspiration to many to get into weightlifting. I’d love to see your analysis of Norik Vardanian’s lifting style. He never ended up with a lot of international success but he is an amazing lifter nonetheless and has a very unique and technical style. Plus, he is Urik Vardanyan’s son…
is it possible to get Zhassulan Kydyrbayev 94kg 2014 Almaty with also Vladimir Sedov? They were amazing in their performance and brilliance. A performance of a lifetime both of them, if any one of them it will work, if both superb.
Akkaev actually injured his back very seriously in training hall at olympics and then he tested positive. Klokov never went! Officially knee injury but rumors were that he tested positive internally in Russia.
Gabriel, can you do Dmitry Lapikov's 210×2 and 217 snatch. I tried too copy his starting position because I have the same height and body type but it didn't work for me. When I saw Akbar Djuraev's 205 snatch, I understood what I had to do and my snatch increased 10kg immediately. Just like when you saw Yuri Zaharevish clean, you understood what to do.
Klokov tried to snatch like Chigishev but it didnt work for him. Klokov used only his back because he had a lot of problems and injuries with his quads and hamstrings thats why he has wraps around his legs and not knees and why he did som much deficit romania snatch deadlift.
Gabriel, how would you fix the common mistake of lifter's toes going up when the bar passes the knee? I would suggest them to stay over the bar longer.
I am working on this mistake in my snatch. From what i have heard from him, i think he would say to use the legs well and push through the full foot. Pushing with the legs causes the knees to go back and allow the bar to be close to the center of mass. In my own technique, i think the bar doesnt come towards me enough off the floor and my knees are in the way, so after i pass the knee the bar is a bit too far away, so my weight is back to balance it out/compensate and then it shifts back forward after the knee i.e., my toes come up because i have to shift my weight to compensate for the bar not being close enough to my center of mass so my body weight and the weight of the bar can come back together Gabriel’s toes sometimes lift up in his heavy snatches and he has done 190 so it probably isnt the most important. Main focus is probably as much power as possible while maintaining balance and bar path. I wonder what he thinks using the lats, because, for example, in toma loredana’s 121 at worlds training hall you can clearly see her shoulders being in front of the bar. This has been an essay and idk if you or gabriel will see it but i am helping myself by thinking this through anyway lol
Torokhtiy teaches (ukrainian technique ) to stay over the bar as long as possible but he was never good snatcher, only 185 in comp. I rather listen to Gabriel because his trainer was Nicu Vlad. One of the world's best if not the best snatchers in history. 200,5kg at 100kg bodyweight.
why don't analyze one of the best lifter, especially in snatch, Andrei Aramnau and 200 kilos and 236 in deijing? he is even better than Klokov, Klokov is a media lifter, no olympic gold medal, aramnau destroy him whatever he wanted

Also 226 kg push press. He said it on instagram a few years back
thank you very much. now I have all the details for video . will drop soon.
@@gsincraian you are awesome, Gabriel.
Evgeny Chigishev's 211 snatch at Doha in 2005 would be a great video for one of your awesome analyses!
il add him on my list
Great video and commentary as usual Gabriel, thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The gorilla snatching a tree in the forest reference was so good. Lmao
thanks :)
I noticed this week that most top snatch have their balance a bit back so the shin are straighter and so I tried it and it felt much better to me
good
Great video. You should make one on Milko tokola
Its on my list

yeah , was something there for sure.
Very nice analysis Gabriel!
Thanks!
Great analysis, thanks Gabriel!! Do you have a link to the original video?
nope, I dont have the original video link
I'd guess they got a tip off of what was going to happen?
for sure was something there :)
Your analysis videos are incredible!
Glad you like them!

The 94kg guy in the beginning of the video is Alexander Ivanov
yes, is Ivanov alexander
In the back it is Chigishev I think.
yes

Is strong dude
YES
he has one leg longer than the other and that’s probably why his legs are not symmetrical in starting position
Hey Gabriel, do you think a weightlifting competition without drug testing would be good? Similar to what powerlifters and strongmen do.

Edit: klokov actually says to keep the shoulders in front of the bar in the pull
As they told, they've got injured right before competition
An injury does not force you to leave the Olympic village :)
Gabriel, why do you think Klokov has black tape on the barbell?
what do you mean ?
Torokhtiy teaches (ukrainian technique ) to stay over the bar as long as possible but he was never good snatcher, only 185 in comp. I rather listen to Gabriel because his trainer was Nicu Vlad. One of the world's best if not the best snatchers in history. 200,5kg at 100kg bodyweight.
2012 was still potato video quality era.
probably this video was reposted alot , and loose from his quality too . I bet the original video is much more clearly

I choose lifters on analysis based on what comments I get.
