It will depend on the size extrusion you want to use. For example, the extrusion I used to buy mine has a "slot width" of 8mm, so I get M8-8 Hammer nuts (the twisty ones that 'lock' into the extrusion)
You could do that, but it then the top is supported by clamping pressure rather than the legs taking the load as you would be attached to the side of the extrusion vs. having the load on top of the extrusion. I think it depends on how much weight you want it to hold.

That's a $1,000.00 aluminum bench,LOL It's $9.00US just for the connectors he's using and he using 4 on each piece. 4 x 50?? wow wish I had that money.LOL. Still a nice table, I agree.
because you can modify this if your needs change. Adjust height, add new stuff. remove stuff. Welding would be good if youre certain you will never have to dissasemble this.

Beautiful work! I am looking to do something similar using a Festool MFT/3 top. Can you explain how you attached the top to the frame?
He put in a lot of extra t-nuts to use with L brackets and corner brackets to screw into the tops from the underside.

i don't know where you live but you can order those aluminum extrusions really cheap from china... like he said $270 dollars
