I've been following this story for several years now. None of the trolls and anonymous 'critics' on this thread are saying anything new that Jeremy Kipnis hasn't addressed 100 times over with candor, sincerity and humor -- except for maybe the suggestion of using solar panels -- Jeremy?
Yes, I could snub a painting someone else made saying it doesn't suit my lifestyle or bank account, but so what? The man actualized his vision without compromise, which is way more than most people can say.

kool youtube is great can just ask you, How does an imax print of a film hold up to the bluray with say dark knight or the dark knight rises which was shot in imax though i haven't actually seen either in imax and on bluray figured you would know for obvious reasons.

Snell THX Reference towers (the best speakers in the world) can flawlessly reproduce frequencies up to 100khz down to sub 1hz, which if not heard can DEFINTELY be felt, which is part of what makes this the greatest audio/video experience on earth with a 150dB @ 0% THD perfect sounding Snell THX Reference system

True, this room looks amazing from a technical point of view.
To really enjoy watching a movie / listening to audio there would be too much distraction for me personally.
For instance, with the open character of the room i can imagine it would get pretty windy when you turn up the volume.
Still. i'd wet my pants if i were sitting at the center of it ;)

It is a nice setup, but I have mixed feelings about your cabling and the number of speakers you have. Although recreation of the sound stage is very important wouldn't it be hard predict how so many speakers would interact with each other? There are so many questions I would love to ask as I am starting to get into high end audio, but I am too poor to hit this level lol.

Since the source if the IMAX portion of the movies is shot and transferred from 15 perf/70mm film, the inherent superiority of the IMAX film format shows through, even on BD (or 1080P streaming via Netflix or Vudu). Consequently, if ALL cinema were shot in IMAX (or 4K Digital), the quality of the home experience would be noticeably better than from 35mm or 2K Camera sources (even displayed at 1080P).
When displayed on 4K (& 8K) displays, the difference is really amazing, and more than obvious!

If the upscaling is as good as the Sony VW-1000ES, then 4K upcaling blu-rays is definitely worth it! His Snell THX Reference system goes all the way down to 1hz, he doesn't need a vibrating system!!

    2) Because my Kipnis Studios Standard (KSS)™ - TRINITY Ultimate Home Theater is also a laboratory where I test and review AV technologies from around the world, I have had most of the serious motion controls systems, here for evaluation. They CAN make a significant difference in the immersive experience that I create and which I call The MIRAGE Effect™. But it is secondary to getting the best possible picture and sound quality, which entails building a dedicated theater w/ non-parallel surfaces!

Too much equipment for the size of the room. Mine was made from a 2 car garage and den measuring 18x35. whats the dimensions of this room?

  • @KipnisStudios
    @KipnisStudios  12 років тому

In fact, ANY interior design aesthetic can be created to suit your exacting requirements; it's up to you. But my KSS™ TRINITY Cinema is a laboratory and demonstration facility, which can seat from 3 - 33. TRINITY's goal is to show what it really takes (in terms of technology and integration. i.e. 4K & 8K Cinema Projection, 8.8 & 12.12 Surround Sound, Dedicated Room, etc) to fool the senses, completely. With this kind of resolution, I achieve "The Mirage Effect!"™ where YOU are in the Show!

4K Commercial Sources include DCI CInema Masters played back through SONY LMT-300 Cinema Media Server (this is the same as is in AMC & Regal Theaters). I also shoot my own stills, movies, and 3D at 4K & 8K; played back via 5 Macbook Pros (1 Controller, 4-slaves). FInally, there is the wealth of 1080P sources, such as Blu-Ray, Cable, Satellite, Netflix, Vudu, UA-cam, and these can be scaled using a broadcast scaler, like my Snell & Wilcox Interpolator 3, or the Terranax Scaler to look SUPER!

  • @KipnisStudios

You really must first consider that:
    A) the Speakers are designed for this purpose by Kevin Voecks at Snell for Tom Holman and George Lucas at THX Corporation as their "Statement Product for the Home"!
    B) the room that all the speakers and the audience reside in is built from scratch for the precise acoustic purpose seen here: the Ultimate in Audio & Video Playback Fidelity
    C) my KSS™ Surround Sound Design produces a "You Are There" immediacy, which I have patented as "The Mirage Effect!" ...

The Snell THX Reference towers are used by George Lucas in his Skywalker Ranch Theater and Tomlinson Holman's reference theater. Even the White House theater uses them. Jeremy Kipnis carefully selected the best equipment as the sole purpose of the media room "Cine Beta" was to create SOUND and IMAGE better than anything else in the world, which is why he chose Kevin Voecks' #1 finest surround system, the Snell THX Reference

Hi-Fi electronics are not like computers, they don't 'outdate' every few years (especially amplifiers and speakers). Some of McIntosh amps are in production for more than 30 years without any change. Resale value of hi-fi equipment is also very good - so it can be considered as investment.

Impressive system you have..I think the room is too small..Speakers are too close to the listener resulting in a unbalance of sound waves..With that amount of power you could easily have the speakers atleast 5-10 feet away..

Snell THX Reference system > IMAX surround system. And the Sony 4K/8K projectors in the KSS has 3 times the contrast of what IMAX theaters consider standard. I believe the max surround system of the largest IMAX theaters run around 11,000 watts. the KSS has it beat, from the 8K resolution,to the 100,000 watt 12.12 channel perfect sounding Snell THX Reference

  • @KipnisStudios

    3) Obviously, in a $6 Million Ultimate Media Room, you had better be able to hear the difference between an analog source and a digital one. In fact, as a recording producer & engineer, it is an endless source of pride to be able to produce RED BOOK CDs that mimic the sound of great analog; producing highly detailed, 3-dimentional sound-staging with wide dynamic range and no hint of digititis!
My KSS™ Standard requires separate 800 Ampere analog and digital power supplies (or generators)!

    $750k on Speakers
    $1 million on Amps
    $250k on Projector
    Assume $250k for Sources
    $250k on Interior
    $100k on Power and Grounding
    $200k on Wire
and your only at $2.8 million.

Ho and you definitely need to put more seats in there, unless you have no friends or family.

I'm sure it sounds and looks incredible, but I totally HATE how the room looks. Soo sloppy and cluttered with wires. I highly doubt all of that money makes a difference. Waste of money in my humble opinion. Why would u need to be able to turn it up as loud as a jet engine?? Talk about total overkill. This guys an epic fail. I would be ashamed to show anyone that room with all the wires and crap on the floor.
