Now More Than Ever

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is situated squarely in the midst of North Dakota's Bakken energy boom. The development of this boom has brought along with it a cornucopia of opportunity, though the long term outcomes remain to be seen. As development increases, so too does the importance of this park.
This video is the first in a series about how the surrounding oil development affects our park. It is meant to inspire dialog and raise questions, not necessarily to answer them yet. Please post your thoughts here and help us create a dialog about these issues. We will listen to you and appreciate your comments If you speak from your personal opinion and are respectful of others.
The Park's official standpoint on the Bakken oil drilling is that we are not against development; we just believe that it should be done with care and in a responsible manner. There are plenty of videos with technical information, advocating for strong standpoints on all sides of the issue. Our intent is not to take a side; rather, it is to emphasize the uniqueness and importance of our park in light of the surrounding development.
