she was already kind of a mary sue in the original and i was hoping theyd fix that but instead they stripped her of her personality entirely. really lame.
This actress is very beautiful, I see that she is trying, she looks like Katara, but this is not Katara, this is not that girl from the southern water tribe with a will of steel in her soul and with fire in her eyes, I don’t see that in this girl...
Katara was simply handed the title of master out of no where. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy this adaptation and there were a lot of things added that I loved such as the funeral scene with Iroh and Zuko, but there was a lot that I didn't like. One being that they took away Katara's struggle with water bending and just made her a Mary-Sue. She does nearly every water move in the scroll without effort, she journeys to the North pole to find a master to learn from yet doesn't learn anything from a master and is just given the title of master for no reason. What made Katara amazing was that she showed that hard work and discipline can easily lead one to heights greater than those who are naturally gifted. Aang, in the animated show, was naturally gifted with water bending, Katara wasn't. She had to train hard and actually put effort, whereas the live action Neftlix show, she just becomes a master just cause.
Ah yes, famous northern scrolls for waterbanding. Makes everybody master within a week. Overpowered female character as a way to push feminism. Nothing new.
This Katara is too soft and weak. The animated is more stronger and pre mature. She is easily get angry because she is also a teenager as well. And, the water bending is soper slow.

The Actress really needs to work on her acting. She looks the part, but fails to emote well enough to represent the Sassy and Hotheaded Katara we all know and love from ATLA
They did bumi bad
They did a lot of things bad but it will fly under the radar because fans love the original so much and just want to see a decent live action. But this show could’ve been done so Much better
i loved katara! people are so annoying with everything has to be exactly perfect and equal to the original series but i feel like they really made her character essence to life
Still cant top the original series
Yeah No Shit
She looks the part but they removed all her flaws, you could say they very much 'watered down' her character
If you hate this Katara, you’re probably just hating for the sake of it. she’s not the best part of the series, but, she lives, and, breathes katara for how I see her and along the way she will become even better.
Really dumb how she just doesn’t need to learn from pakku or anyone to become a “master” dumb change for no reason
@@justinluna9600 Before arriving at the Northern Water Tribe, Katara was teaching Aang waterbending. She had learned some basic waterbending techniques by herself and passed on this knowledge to Aang. So, in a way, Katara was her own teacher before they met Master Pakku in the Northern Water Tribe. 😊

@@justinluna9600 and wasn't the animated version the same? Not once did we actually see her with paku training together after their fight, we just saw her came to the class late and that's it. After that she fight like a pro vs zuko and just becuz the sun rose she suddenly became too weak to block a single strike from zuko? Or is it that everyone deem that it was sneak atk?
I don't hate this Katara but I do miss her caring/fierce side a little. And her bond with Aang does not feel as strong. She is so focused on bending the whole time. But I loved the flashbacks and she was great in the finale.
@@irisjasmijnvanlieshout976 I searched on the internet and the creators said this is not what they vision for the adaptation and the Netflix didn't listen 😅
They made a strong female character into a Mary sue. Dumb af. She became a master without learning
hmm I think it’s something that can easily plan to put in during flashbacks in season 2. i think people are just too eager to criticise like wait n stop before they cancel the whole thing 😭

So sad now avatar is infected with woke. Woke is more dangerous than covid srsly
she was already kind of a mary sue in the original and i was hoping theyd fix that but instead they stripped her of her personality entirely. really lame.
At least what we can say for now is that it’s still better than that movie…The one that doesn’t exist
Nothing new.
i like her face is not even wet after she got water into her face. wow.... cgi at its finest
This Katara is too soft and weak. The animated is more stronger and pre mature. She is easily get angry because she is also a teenager as well. And, the water bending is soper slow.
Yeah, this Katara also didn't need a teacher cuz she was a strong independent woman and she fights for other women 🤦♀️. Girl also barely acted.
@@SangHendrix Most scenes i see her opening her eyes and be surprise and some scenes with sadness. Even her smile contains profound sadness inside
no its not
@SangHendrix youre so lame.grow up 😂😂
Agreed we need more emotive lines! Katara wasnt afraid to get angry and yell, this one too passive so far
Man, I was really let down by the actress that played her. I thought Aang and sokka were great shes just not that great
Not my Katara.
Katara is woke now so sad
Wtf? Where did she was woke
?
@@TalhaAnsar-pc2lw girl boss a master without learning.
@@Jimmyni-kk4em tf? I mean tf? 😭😭😭😭 you're so dumb, in every shot of her she was practicing water bending and she also got that water bending scroll from her Gran Gran.....one more thing she also learns thing very fast in OG series as well....
@@Jimmyni-kk4em”even the odds” with a bunch of untrained women against trained fire nation soldiers lol ”let us get the job done” 😂 they didn’t show them fight a single firebending soldier 😂
Why do they need to add all of those "Someday you'll be great" lines? Seriously, who even says that? And takes some of the originality of the character's journey away.
i juuuuust needed her eyes to be blue
nah ur good.
Bro i‘d rather have her be actually indigenous than have a white version of her with blue eyes
Same with Azula, I wish her fire was blue
@@samlung2724it became blue in one part, I think we will see the blue fire in season 2. I am loving Azulas arc so far. If we understand her better, her descent into madness will hit so much harder.
@@irisjasmijnvanlieshout976exactly
Not just that.. they made her submissive and took away from her courage and talent .. in the new series she’s constantly scared while in the OG she’s a fighter, a badass and she held the group together f.ex after appa was stolen in the dessert and took the leadership!
She stood up to sexist rulings and her brothers remarks and proved everyone the opposite! - that women can bend and are not meant to wash dirty socks & sew like Sooka said👌
Katara was done a bit disservice by the writers, as were many of the characters. No amount of passionate acting or talented other departments can make up for a god awful script and a poor grasp of the essence of the original.
Waterbeding “ ability to adapt and change” for example using sweat to break free from a wooden cage , blood bending. She has not shown Any sign of mastery but she’s a master 😂. Just so eager to call her master . The show is so rushed, the characters are not compelling . Where’s aang goofiness where’s Katara sassiness where’s Sokka’s skepticism and sharp wittiness ? The show is ok I guess but it could’ve been so much BETTER !
She lacks of emotion. I bet her as katara but could she improve her acting?
Patetico!!
Cambiaron a todos los personajes y eso q no son de Disney
La vdd no me gusto los personajes
Katara was black 👑 not white
I'm not racist tho
katara's race in the og is never explicitly stated, though she does have a darker skin tone. this actress isn't even white, she's indigenous!
I am guessing she is more like Polynesian in the story though, OG series water tribe always gave me those vibes.
She isn’t black, the water tribes are based on the Inuit people. This fact is so readily available, you do kinda come off as racist
I think katara was more Indian I always thought but I got what you are saying it's a bit white washed
the actress is indigenous pal
Super bad casting. The actors do not resemble the characters at all. It's like they're cosplayers. Bad cosplayers. I know there were a lot of bad things about the movie version but what they got down the best was the casting.
She killed the vibe of katara. Flat and expressionless. A big L. Only ZUKO boy did great in acting department
By the power of feminism she is master already in episode 1. Gosh love the show but their a bunch of scenes thats way off
Katara should be african girl with sone faurness in her
More like master of shit in this show
most trash character or netflix series no idea how to do acting comes with bad script writing
