    My grandparents told me there used to be some families living in those caves with their farm animals until the forties! They didn't want to change their ways and they didn't leave until they were forcefully evicted.

    We did visit the Buskett Gardens when we lived in Malta, but didn't get too far as we went by bus and so were on foot, so didn't come across the caves. Your video was very impressive, Steve, the information that you gave was so interesting, the area should be made part of the World Heritage and preserved for future generations. Thanks again.

      Malta has a lot of hidden treasures. Under Valletta are still a Warren of caves and tunnels still unopened to the public, under ground train tunnels war shelters etc..it is said...that under Valletta city is the oldest Prehistoric Temple in the world and in the 1700's the temples of st john build on top of it and have hidden untold treasures......The other cave i enjoyed the best .Għar Ħasan Cave, it lies within the cliff-bound coastline.With breathtaking sea views..I make a video so months back...hoping to start going round the old forts next week ...weather permitting...:-)

    These caves are incredibly impressive. Well preserved for being over 5,000 years old. I thought they had caricature, I loved them. As for the cart ruts, we are still scratching our heads as to How..What..When.. I think why they shoot out on the edge of a cliffs is, that the cliffs had given way and sunk into the sea and left the ruts hanging out ??? Or maybe the cart ruts went from Malta to Sicily when they were joined. I wonder if they ever found ruts at the tip of Sicily. I would imagine there would be large areas of land under the sea when it was split apart. Anyway, sorry Steve for going on. As always your walks and history are fantastic. Cheers 😊

    I've just stumbled on this video. I've been there a few times, too. Just beyond the cave complex there are some Roman Quarries.... very shallow, but impressive. There are also 2 punic tombs dug into the rock.

    Once I was told by a guide that the roof was removed (blown) by the colonial government of the time to dissuade people from returning back to the cave to live

    Cart tracks? I think they are more like furrows thinking that food would have been rare. So they might have poured dirt in to them and tried to grow plants that they could harvest, and SURVIVE.!!;-)

    • @originalherdsman3524
      @originalherdsman3524 5 років тому +1

      Yes produce like strawberries /sald / herbs , etc. Also maybe a water drainage system to make the most of the rain water , any little water could not be wasted .
      The inhabitants made the most and adapted to what they had on offer. Very much as it is today in Malta.

    I found your cart rut video☺ I love those caves it would be great to have a time machine. UFO landing tracks would be exciting but it's probably something like old water erosion from a time when there was torrential rain. Maybe when a meteor hit the earth then perhaps it was covered up for centuries. Or maybe it was when Santa used to have his home in Malta before he relocated to the North Pole and they are his sleigh tracks. 🎅

    • @EnglishmaninMalta
      @EnglishmaninMalta  4 роки тому +1

      That would be cool! There are many the same all over malta can not be water if you see you would understand ..They are perfect guts the same distance apart for a long way and so just disappear off the cliffs

    I had to laugh...my husband kept telling me the same thing before our trip to Malta. "Malta's a big rock. There's no dirt there!" I told him I wasn't going there to look at dirt, lol.

    The English came in and forced them to pay taxes and when they moved them out. They came back to find them still there defying the tax order. So they blew up the cave in 1835 I believe. Good old English rule.

      I've been to these caves many times. The people they found in the caves spoke a dialect of maltese that no one has ever heard before as well. Very interesting stuff here. Miniature elephants were also found (only ones found ever in the world)

    • @EnglishmaninMalta
      @EnglishmaninMalta  4 роки тому

    Watched anther video from English tourist he was a engineer and thought they were drainage and water collection channels They would be quite easy to cut with a oxen and two pronged plough set at 1.4 meters two prongs would make control better and in wet weather the limestone would be quite soft

    I think the "cart ruts" where formed when Malta was attached to Africa and the earth was just forming. They look like there was different layers of rock, some softer than others and over the millennia they got washed away. Just my humble opinion of course.

    Human cart ruts,turned to stone. This contradicts our current dating assumptions and our whole view of historic chronology.
    Petrified flood mud.

  • @FullMetalNobody
    @FullMetalNobody 4 роки тому +1

    Is that stone or was it originally ash??
    Those tracks look too wide and set edges to be from cart use..
    Possibly stone pulling ruts via quarrying. No wheels have ever been found. Just saying.
    Great explore , thank you

Research the hypogeum at hal salfini, and underground race of human sacrificing people live underneath malta m read the nat Geo article from the 1940s about the missing school children/teacher! And it's the knights of malta aka St John they have permanent observer status at the United Nations.
