Totally agree with your analysis David. So many positives including Morton, McConnell and Nyomi who looked very assured. Thought Endo was excellent again and confirmed we now have 5 options at CB. Not a great believer in buying just for the sake of it and keeping certain influencers happy but a LB is definitely needed this month.

Completely agree with your Danns analysis David. I"d really like to see him get more time off the bench in the league. He was excellent last year, knows where the goal is, and despite being young looks like he can cope physically. And Endo is a really decent 6 - I actually think he looks better there than at CDM and I hope we keep him.

Chiesa needs game time, he was injured for so long and had no pre-season, what else did we expect? It's outrageous when i hear ppl say he has not accustomed himself to the phhsicañity of the league, that he has not worked out for him?! Elliot was out for a long time and hes not at hes best as he too had to find his way back slowly even thoigh he was amazing last season. BUT YES! No doubt that if chiesa stays fit from now until may, then we will see match fitness build, his eye for goal or hard work is not in question. So what if he lost a bit of pace? DO WE NOT state time and again that he has a good footballing brain and great technical ability?..Let's be fair and real about who we have on our hands. He has thw right medical team around him and slot has handled him remarkably well thinking of where the player is at fitness wise and has been gentle with him. WE will be raving about him in 3-4 games fast forward when mo and nunez will need a rest as we are in so many competitions. 15-20 mins here or there towards end of games, start of games at anfield against poorly teams will all help him get the confidence he needs.

With Salah and Chiesa I think its best that instead of guessing what may happen or what players may think in the future, to watch and see what happens on the pitch and enjoy yourself as a fan. The more players we have fit the more competition there is in the squad, the better we will play, the more matches we win and potentially the more trophies we win - all players (and fans) want that.
Well Mo is a professional player, he knows how rotation works, if he's not happy then he's not happy, it's for his benefit after all, and the team. The youngsters were great to see.
Chiesa is pure world class…. Just need time to adjust to epl. Also need to improve physicality a bit more to really cook!! Will be a huge asset for us second half of season.
Danns must be a nightmare to mark, he has so much energy. I would keep him and Chiesa around the 1st team for the rest of the season. We have a proper player in Chiesa - likely more a squad player but a very technically gifted player none the less. We have not had to play him because Salah even by his standards has been exceptional all season and due the other options we have. We are trying to solve this main striker puzzle - damning on Nunez that we are throwing Jota and Diaz in there ahead of him. Chiesa isn't quick but neither was Firmino - if he stays fit then he gives up another option in playing him in the false 9 or wide right. Finally and I know that our academy set up is a bone of contention for some fans (many think it only exists to produce young talent that we sell on to generate money) but some of our young players currently are exceptional.
Endo, Chiesa and Danns showed what specials stars they are. It exposed how slot has sucked the real gems in the back burner. As you mentioned, the 16 yrs kid shouldn't have been thrown into such big game from the start bec it will stint his growth.
We've got good youngsters waiting to slot in. Our squad is deep in terms of youngsters who can hold their own against senior players. Any top club for sustained success needs that production line as well as good buys.

I loved the young guys today as well. Danns has that natural 9 way about him, always in the right places and picks up tap ins. This team could use a real number 9 idk if we buy one in January but would love to see an upgrade in the summer window to split time with jota.

Played really well today (albeit against a low league team), but a good performance and a goal will only do him the world of good. Nice to see McConnell and Danns back with minutes and the other young lads did well. How must Nunez and Elliott feel? nothing seems to run for them. The effort from the senior players was good they were up for it and not sulking. Chiesa certainly has quality but his loss of explosive pace from what he used to be was very evident. I don't see any mid-table teams in Spain, Italy, or Portugal giving LFC big cash for Nunez. I guess this would have an adverse effect in terms of LFC summer transfer plans because of FFP/PSR ?
