Okay say this book did tell us how the world was going to end. Shouldn’t us adults be able to inform ourselves to be prepared? This is OUR PLANET TOO!! We deserve to know EVERYTHING about it!!
Sure…this planet was in a stable orbit further from the sun, past Mars, with a uniform crust and completely covered by partially frozen water. A major collision occurred which shattered about one third of it’s crust and pushed it closer to the sun. This was pretty much in slo-mo as the water poured into the gaping molten wound while the first steamy atmosphere was created and the remaining crust appeared as dry land. Due to its instability while new thin crust is continually forming beneath the oceans, we have shifting plate tectonics and continuous continental drift and perhaps even occasional crustal slippage. It’s truly amazing how this volatile world was actually the perfect environment for life to take hold and evolve into such variety.
