I respectfully disagree with Mr Roberts view of how Putin fought this war: Had Mr Putin move in to Ukraine with a powerful force in March 2022 and knocked out the government as Mr Roberts suggests, he would have triggered a nuclear war. Instead Putin opted for a war of attrition, and by doing so he has knocked out three NATO armies along with their over priced equipment and at the same time Putin has managed to keep China and the BRIX Nations on side. And throughout, Russia has developed a booming economy with a growth rate of 6% in March 2024 while under sanction. I rest my case?

Fr, i respect him but to say Putin is delusional not seeing this as a full out war is just kinda ignorance on his part. If most of ppl in the world sitting on their couch could see this as a gang up attempt from nato, then an ex KGB turn President with one of the most powerful spy net work could definitely saw it. 😂
The way Russia wage attrition war is fitting with their doctrine and capabilities, like you said it knocked down 3 nato already, and definitely denazi alottttt of Ukrainians. Ukr and Nato are forced to fight by Russia term, why change that? And risk lost the active role in the battle back to nato? Most US ex mil personels came here on this channel and acknowledge the way putin conducting this war, but non mil mem like him talking abt Putin being delusional is kind of a hugeee reach lol 😂

I also tend to disagree with Mr Roberts on this. There are always multiple considerations and constraints, Suddenly take and occupy a large country like this would have backfired in one way or another and it's unlikely it would discourage the west. Surely, Russians made some mistakes but overall but they are well aware this is a war with the west and I think Russians chose the most optimal way of dealing with the problem.

While he sees that Taiwan will be peacefully reabsorbed into China via trade and economic links, he doesn't understand that after Russia wins (this being a certainty) Russia wants, and needs, to be thinking about the day after, and living and trading with ALL of it neighbors, something very difficult when you've bombed them "back to the stone age", as is the American way.

His claim that Sweden and Finland are as dangerous or more so than Ukraine is intentionally ignorant of the Nazi threat in Ukraine or the history of those Nordic countries. The Finns don't know what they've gotten themselves into and Sweden was the special gift to NATO for keeping their citizens distracted by increasing immigrant instability. It was their booby prize for being a valued EU vassal. We've already learned that Sweden's 'neutrality' during WW2 was a front so they could keep shipping nickel and other products to their German friends across the sea. And the fact that Finland didn't disappear entirely as an SSR after WW2 is testament to Stalin's measured temperament. Like you say, Finland and Sweden can watch their social programs and middle class comfort disappear in exchange for a locked-in payout to the MIC.

Finns have become mad. I'm Finnish myself but I live abroad and thus I don't get to feel the atmosphere in Finland but what I get through media makes me not want to even visit that madhouse. I mean, Finns voted the extreme right party coalition in power and then like a cherry on cake for the WEF bitch president Stubb (Stupido by the dissidents). So now Finland is completely occupied by z*ionaz*ies.
The government has already launched an unrestrained program to strangle the poor, destroy small businesses and the middle class. At the same time, the government declares that military spending will be permanently increased because of the Russian threat. Everyone with two braincells can see that this is against reason and mere madness. Finland would not have needed anything other than to stay out of NATO and remain neutral and the people would have been fine.
Despite all this, the majority of the people are still in favor of the regime. Because of the wars between Finland and USSR it's easy to incite the people to Russophobia which in itself is absolutely crazy because the people who fought the war are almost all gone and the younger generations have been able to enjoy prosperity from good relations, first with the Soviet Union and then with Russia, and from Russian trade, which was a significant part of the economy now lost due to mindless sanctions.
The interviewee mentioned the possibility that the mR*N*A va*cci*nes have taken cognitive abilities away from people. It seems to me that this has happened to the Finns. How else would they have been so easily mass hypnotized to Russophobia and war psychosis against all benefits good relations with Russia brought for people. Personally, I have severed my relationship with Finnishness as sad as it is. Finland has voluntarily given its independence to the Anglo-Saxons, the country is run from abroad and the people have lost their minds.

It takes time for truth to see the light. The real reason for Russia's war in ukraine is now known by billions. Russia is a nuclear power but has to be strategic and diplomatic. They have gained the support and respect of the world. Russia can absorb losses to gain a decisive victory in the end. The formation of the new multipolar world via BRICS depends on Russia and China. The West wants a wider war to destroy the multipolar world. Iran Russia and China are safeguarding this project. The rules based order is attempting to destroy international laws so as to do whatever it pleases. Russia's strength and survivability have inspired smaller nations to say no to the greater powers. Even Madagascar president recently kicked out an EU official for interfering in its government's decisions. These things wouldn't happen. They never happened three years ago. The world is changing.

I'm afraid my respected fellow southerner succumbs to classic American impatience. The situation is more of the pit bull that has secured a death clench, and so, conserves energy, maintains advantage while his foe exerts and struggles. Russians have struggled with westerners on that same land about every 80 years and are not averse to casualties for strategic gain. America is far too young and arrogant to see what is occurring.

Thank you for an interesting discussion gentlemen. This war is not about Russia vs Ukraine, so if Russia anialated Ukraine within a week, nothing would have been achieved, barring a great PR loss as the West highlights the "barbarism" of Russia. Meanwhile NATO would have lined up the next Russian "victim" through some highly publicized provocation to illustrate "Putin's lust for conquest". As it is, Russia used the tennets of International Law to enforce UNSC resolutions which culminated in the Minsk agreements. Minsk was ignored by Ukraine as well as garuantors Germany and France. Under International Law Russia was therefore justified in launching an SMO under the Right To Protect (R2P) Russian speaking Ukrainians from the NATO enabled and supported Ukrainian military, who by that stage had already killed about 15,000 Russian speaking Ukrainian civilians in Donbas and Lugansk. Mainwhile Russia is building BRICS+ and winning the PR war while the West is launching more wars while bankrupting and disarming itself, all while its natives are suffering the economic fallout of sanctions and excessive money printing to finance the wars. An attack on Russia by NATO will result in a massive no-holds barred counter attack by multiple players. The result will hopefully be a globally equitable multi-polar world order which strictly adheres to International Law. This new order should usher in global economic growth benefitting all peoples of all nations who are prepared to work, putting an end to the corrupt, criminal and parasitic tenure of the West's "Golden Billion".
