NORD has a very elegant tone... always useful in every project ... In the past decade I went crazy buying 6 Clavias of different models and ALL sound amazing in their own category.
Just noticed, his patches are all "likes", as in L.1, L.2, L.4, etc......these are not the factory presets as they would be as follows: A.1, A.2, A.3 and so on......I own the NLA1, the faxtory patches are great but these have been tweaked. Nothing wrong with that, but don't expect it to sound just like this demo at first.
Can anyone confirm if this has Fatar TP/7BA keybed or not? This is one of the cheaper Fatar keybeds so I hope not... However I know that each manufacturer tweak their key action even it's Fatar. I haven't tried one yet myself, but would be good to know what people think.

@chief tp Thanks for the recommendation! Would you by any chance know how the hs60 compares Juno DS 61/76 ? I would rather an internal speaker but I don't mind getting a workstation that doesn't have one if I'm getting overall better bang for the buck..
Thanks for the demo. Useful...sadly confirming I don't need that synth :P I LOVE Nord and I'm a Nord user and fan boy...but that demo shows that the sounds on the A1 are a bit "dated" compared to other modern synths out there now. I would love a similar demo for the Lead 4 now ! ;)
@@SPAZZOID100 yeah I know the word is maybe not 100% right but I don't feel the sounds are up to date with current pop production standards, which is what I'm after. It also doesn't sound quite as fat and deep as the analog synths out there. That being said...it's a great synth ! But not what I'm after now.
Great synth but the keys are not so good (cheap) ... You can use midi to solve this. The best synth keys are from the brand Novation ... Feels good, aftertouch ... This should be on the A1
On the contrary, I have owned a lot of synths and I am really happy with the synth engine of my NS3. I think depends on how much you master it what you can get out of it. Of course it may be a matter of tastes as well, but what I am trying to say is that this demo is not representative of A1.
@@georgesboutz7534 sexy? eouw - never saw something more ugly than this red piece with a piece of wood as a Pitch Controller and a thin plastic toyish ModWheel....Terrible Keys and the ControlButtonNoise is next Level 😂 You have to be Nord Fan to like this Instrument like 2 Guys I know - they hate everything what Roland and Korg doin and love only Nord and Moog and Elektron. Great Humans - not 😂🤦
@@swtdr34mz just got this one, the color is a bit much yes. But there is nothing plastic about it, all metal including the mod wheel (excluding keys and knobs ofc). I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t like the wood pitch lever thing, but it is nice. Feels very natural and it has no dead-zone so any movement is affecting pitch. Keys are not bad, they are not weighted which some people doesn’t like, but it is high quality non weighted keys, feels exactly like an old midi controller I have that I love that has vert similar keys. Wish it had aftertouch and can’t figure out why the “osc mod” uses the left-most display for some modes but the oscilator display for other modes when showing the values… other than that it is everything I expected and it feels like a high quality product unlike some of the more plastic roland and novation synths (not same price at all but still). Build quality is top notch. Would never buy it for MSRP though, I got it second hand for the same price as a DeepMind 12. Picked the nord simply because it is “locally produced” close to where I live and that I expect the quality to be higher.
Hey @@TimH123 I'm looking for a good quality (no reliability issues) 61-76 key keyboard, something with basic control over the sound with preference for internal speakers.. what would you recommend as an alternative?

I've been looking at this synth for ages, so this is a super useful video. Thanks 👍😊
Jack's playing completely sells me on things! Best Nord A1 video out there :)
Really nice full sound from the Nord range
A great entry to the Nord brand without busting the bank! We are really impressed by this range.
I have it and it's great but why didn't you show what it does in multi mode?

best demo I've seen! He's playing actual music, thank goodness. I'm really excited about this one!
Nice sound and great looking synth 😍
Jack & the Falcon! Yeah.
Hello Guy
Can you share all this marvelous presets please?
Does the nord lead a1 have something like the multi mode on the access virus?

I've only ever used two brands. Access and Nord. They're all I need tbh.
Add Novation Peak to that and you have the perfect trio, for me at least.

As long as the poly doesn't sound stuck in the 1970s, I'm down. Nord is above the rest though.
not any more its now 1499 in 3 years ...gone up in price
It could use a couple more octaves but I still want one.
The A1 is great
Got one, f-ing brilliant ❤️ but only payed £945 a year ago!
Sounds almost DX-7ish at times.
If they did this offer again Id jump at it.
what is the difference between Nord Lead 4 and Nord Lead A1 ?
Go on their website or even on UA-cam. They have a video explaining their products line and differences very well ;)
Shame you didn't demonstrate the multi-layered sounds. Otherwise 👌
We can try and get a longer demo recorded next time... This was just Jack's run-through of the first 10 patches, keep those eyes peeled ;)
I also want to know how good the keybed is. Is it made overly cheaply?
yes but it plays very fast 👍
@chief tp any idea of a good alternative the the Norm Lead A1 that also has internal speakers? For around $650

I got a Nord Lead 2x, wondering if I should do a switch, or get a rack version of the A1
I owned that one as well, and yes, A1 sounds better to me.
Yes Jack do the multi's and blow us all away 🤟🏻👍🏻😁
awesome great job
damn you should of checked levels, that was clipping and cracking in every patch
I almost brought one today 😅
I like how he reviews stuff..
individual patches and also programs which contain up to as many as 4 parts
That’s worth a *ton*
6:01 Easy Jack, that wheel don't go sideways
Still trying to plug a sustain pedal into my girlfriend. Make a tutorial on that one please!
That sounds like a really bad idea. Look for a damper pedal input instead.
But red

Extra comment/question : Do we know if the synth section in the Nord Stage 3 is the same as the A1 ?
Mathieu Fiset yes we do; it is the same indeed
Mathieu Fiset “dated”???

But none as sexy as the NLA1.
And as versatile? I'm seriously asking. Looking for viable options.

Nord. They always sound dated to me, from new. Except the Modular G2, that still sounds relevant.
“Dated” & “relevant” are VERY subjective terms.
Hence “to me”.
