In Sweden is makes sense that youd pay $29 it's a socialist country afterall where everything is going to be inflated. Here In Canada it'd prob cost you $12. That's why people need to understand the negatives of socialism. Sure school and healthcare is free. But you'll be paying loads for produce and rent so does it even matter when you can barely survive?
SlapShotRegatta, next logical question would be what's your average wage/salary/payment in Ukraine? Answer: not very high, so it's not as cheap as you may think for regular Ukrainians especially now when lots of people lost their jobs. Also almost everybody in Ukraine has a garden. My dad said they were having big harvest this year probably except of wheat because Russian herd is burning wheat in this war purposely. My dad was trying to sell out ORGANIC cherries and nobody wanted to buy them because again they are having lots of cherries this year. It's good Ukrainian soil is so rich, this year Ukrainians will be having problems with heating their homes but at least won't be hungry
In the US we pay exorbitantly to walk into a well lit store with perfectly shaped and colored foods.. but I'll take 2$ for groceries over what we have any day
In Ukraine actually the prices are not so low, but here Pavlo has shown the purchase of produce at the sidewalk, which is tax-free and basically illegal to be sold. But the country can do nothing about it, as people performing this are usually pensioners, that need some money to survive. Although the quality of such products is often better, than at a supermarket. Also you should consider, that due to the war, the US dollar has strengthened relatively to UAH and people have no choice, as to sell cheaper, because the purchasing power has gotten lower, despite fuel for example has become much more expensive.
You also have to consider that in some sense the prices and commodity of Ukraine is also subsidized by billions of US and euro dollars via military aid packages that make it possible for them. There's hidden costs in everything when you get down into it.
@Adora Tsang No, Ukrainians only earn around ~$6500 a year, which makes Ukraine the poorest country in Europe. In India people earn $2500 a year(as poor as many African countries) but i earn $11000 as an engineer which is almost 5 times more than an average indian.. but $11k is still very low compared to incomes in Western Europe and North America. Where are you from and how is the life there ?!? 🙂
@Adora Tsang I was at Safeway (Hawaii) in July and saw exorbitant prices compared to Germany or Italy. I can see how many Americans prefer frozen meals or take away... two vegetables/tuna sandwiches would have costed us almost 30$ plus the time for preparing the ingredients. This is just out of the world...

I had a smile all the way through! Super healthy meal. ❤️ In London it's not always cheaper in the market, than the grocery store/supermarket or better quality, because it's far from the countryside - but - you eat healthier as there are no tempting chocolates, cakes and sweets! I'm with the Michigan person below. All that would cost $15 plus here. All you need now is some sort of meat for a great meal. My wife is of Slovenian decent, and she would sour those cucumbers. Slice thin. Add sliced onions. A generous amount of pepper. Then mix with vinegar and oil. She may also add a pinch of sugar. I'm not sure. Best to cover and let sit overnight in refrigerator before eating.
@@grondinehamelin I know it's a tragedy. Australia is similar to Argentina in that we have strong agricultural resources, we also have an abundance of raw materials. The products look amazing and the prices are incredible. Only a kilo of tomatoes, depending on the market is around 3,00 to 3,50€ in Munich at the moment. The air raid siren at the end is an eery reminder of how Russia it's still trying to annihilate a country and its people. Stay safe, healthy and happy!
The prices in big cities would be higher as well in Ukraine. Also almost everybody has a garden in Ukraine to provide for their families. And we are having a good harvest this year!
If Russia wanted Ukraine wiped of the map, it would already been. Ukraine nationalist should not have fought their own (Russian speaking) citizens for over 8 years and instead should have implemented the Minsk agreement. West and NATO wanted this, now normal people suffer. Learn the facts.
@@ironkcoony I hope Pavlo will quickly delete your disrespectful and ignorant comment (and mine together with it). Nothing justifies launching a war of aggression and committing war crimes. Blaming the victim and third parties is not only stupid but also shameful. You should not try giving lessons to anyone but learn decency yourself.
@@yndividual1 following your logic, Germany was a victim in 1944 when the Allies landed at Normandy. You are ignoring everything that happened before. Didn’t Ukrain fight its own citizens in Donbas? 14000 dead in 8 years? Didn’t Ukraine refuse to commit to the Minsk treaty? Russia drawing a line was inevitable and also the goal of western powers. Ukraine will be used and sacrificed, just as the west always does. My grandparents were Ukrainian and Russian and I fucking mad how the west again and again enforces it’s interest on the back of innocent people. Wake up and look at the facts.
Reminds me of Warsaw, Poland in 2006. I could buy honey on the street from private vendors. Unfortunately, that all changed when the government demanded that people have a vendor's license. The good old days.
Great to see that so many people there can still grow vegetables and sell them on the street ! Your Dinner looked very healthy . Thanks for sharing and stay safe !
That air raid siren right at the end is chilling. It's so sad that a few lunatics in the world want to spoil everything for everyone else. Be happy. Stay safe ✌
I am right now in Kyiv. I sleep very well despite air raid alerts. I have not seen a single destroyed house here all the weeks. Friends at home are more afraid that I am here.

Wow!! It all looks delicious!! Good to see y’all out and about!! Thank you for sharing!! Always look forward to seeing your videos and what’s going on in your life!! Much love from North Carolina!!
Battles continue at the East and South, in other places people continue to live. But often the air alarm goes off and rockets arrive. You now, after 5 monts of war you get used to it, to air alarms, and just continue to live.
You could live in Germany 1944 and barely get the impression that a war is going on and coming to an end. You really overestimate the dependencies when living a simple life. Thats why sanctions will hit long time later.
Wow, you would be shocked at our prices in Canada. The tomatoes would cost about 4 dollars or two dollars a pound. You would be lucky to find the corn for maybe 50 cents for one or two dollars for four on special . Here it is sometimes more expensive to go to the farmers market than to the grocery store to buy strawberries etc. I like your videos on food , & when Luba is cooking and even when you went to your local thrift stores very interesting. I have made Luba’s soup with beets…it is “some good”. Thanks for sharing your country and life with us. Stay safe.
Well then you should grow your own..I am in Canada too..all I buy in the store is non food...the rest can grow outside...but as most Canadians are fuck lazy and rather sit all summer at the lake they need to go buy food ...
I just looked up how much it would cost where I live in Australia for the exact things you got. It came to just over $58 AUD, so that's about $41 USD. Groceries, especially fresh fruit, vegetables, meat etc are so expensive here at the moment. With the floods and other supply issues it's also difficult to find fresh things in some areas. It was wonderful to see what you bought and what you made. We'll get peaches here in the next few months when it gets warmer, I'm looking forward to that.
I need to look into the cost of hiring a translator and language instructor because Ukraine looks like an amazing place! Without knowing the language I would imagine it would be impossible to function there. Stay safe you two!!
It would be possible . Young people especially they speak really good English! And older generation they are really friendly so even if they could not understand they would still be helpful
It's really not so hard - in the cities and even smaller towns, you can usually find an English speaker - especially among the young. The phone translator is a good idea as well - and if you're thinking to learn a language - well, Russian is probably the most practical... just in case. Please don't hate me, Ukrainians.... but when Ukraine wins the war, they probably won't force everyone to speak Ukrainian, like the Russians do with their language! HEROYAM SLAVA! PEREMOHA UKRAYINY!
@@edfederoff2679 I have talked many times with it. It needs practising because you have to first think what you are saying. One sentence at a time. Maybe not the optimal solution in a market place.

I know the blackberries here in Vancouver are about $8 for that plastic cup I saw. The good news is that they grow wild all over Vancouver and we have a nice secret-ish spot! Have a great day!
In Ukraine, many can no longer afford it, only water and canned food sometimes. The government steals money, huge corruption, even humanitarian aid is not given to many.
I miss shopping in the open air rynek! I love how they price everything, they just pile it up and tell you how many hryvnia it is! I can't wait to go back!
Pavlo, its great that you support local farmer's market. My wife and I do the same here in Wisconsin, the plus side is even if price is same as supermarket we get fresher higher quality produce and local gardner's/farmer's make more money (no middlemen!). Besides its alway nice talking with them about what they have, and what will be new the next time!
That's alot .Just bought a bag of Ontario grown apples for $8. at the store.Funny a bag of Oranges not grown here was $6.Got to check out the Farmer markets a huge one in St Jacobs a 60 min drive from here.🇨🇦
Greetings from Michigan, USA! In my neighborhood right now for $2, you'd only be able to buy 6 ears of corn out of your purchase. All of that would be $15-$20 here. Prices very reasonable there buying direct. Take care. Wife and I love your videos. Parents very cool also.
Der eindruck, Die Produkte seien preiswert, billig täuscht. Man muß bedenken, wie wenig auch die Einkünfte in diesem Wirtschaftsraum sind, dann sind die Preise im Verhältnis ausgewogen
Incredible how much food you can buy with 2$ over there. In the US, the corn alone would be 0.50 - 1$ for one piece. All together, that is maybe 30-40$ US.
But also your salaries are much higher. Another reason why veggies and fruits are so "cheap" because everybody has a garden and grows what they need for winter. The last reason is the harvest is really good this year, thanks God people won't be hungry.
The ending of the video with the air raid siren was very ominous of the times we live... scary to think this could happen in the rest of Europe and even in my country 🇺🇸 Were those quail eggs tasting any good? Be safe you two!

Thanks y'all 👍. I saw a big jar of mayonnaise at our local grocery store for $11 😬. Other than necessities, we fight inflation in our household by not paying some of the craziest prices.
Hi Pavlo, a person in South Africa put some shop bought quail eggs into an incubator and actually managed to hatch one egg. The quail chick went to a wild life home.
We don’t have open farmer markets here in Price Utah where we live but we’ve been eating fresh garden vegetables for about a month now. FYI corn is native of the America’s. Thanks for the video Pavlo. Praying for this insane war to end and you and your family’s safety and well being
This is a good example of the real Ukraine. Reminds me of better times and why the country is worth fighting for. I miss walking in the market every week on Sahksagansko.
Реальная Украина, сейчас жрать не может себе позволить, государство не может продовольственные пайки нормально организовать, все воруется в огромных количествах пенсионеры не могут себе позволить ничего!
Love your Slanina. I am making the same from my pig in California. Not many here appreciate that. Nobody sells it, really. Corn here is cheap, garlic, but small pickling cucumbers are hard to find, you almost have to grow your own. In this area are vast almond, pistachio and walnut orchards. The vineyards go all the way to the horizon, and wine is cheap and good.
Pavlo< Can you show us how to make salo? I love salo but never made it. It is very expensive specialty more costly than Ribeye steak ( 46 USD / one Kilo)
@@pavlofromukraine One day I was in a Slavic restaurant in Sacramento and had amazing borscht, fresh bread and salo for the first time. There are many people who live in Sacramento from Ukraine, Russia, Serbia and Croatia. There are a few Serbian churches, Ukraine and Russian communities and until recently a Russian AM radio station ( in Russian) . Most of these people are in groups and know each other. One day I met man at a local hardware store who recently moved from Siberia as a Beekeeper. This is an agricultural area and bees are very important to pollinate the crops. One unfortunate thing I do not understand is that highly trained engineers from Ukraine or Russia have credentials and degrees that are not recognized! Too bad. So these people have to work in different trades. Physics, calculus and statistics are not based on language or culture. The integral and trig functions are the same in all languages!
Salo (food) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Slavic word "salo" or "salanina" as applied to this type of food (it has other meanings as well) is often translated to English as "bacon" or "lard". Unlike lard, salo is not rendered. Unlike bacon, salo has little or no lean meat. It is similar to Italian lardo, the main differences being the thickness of the cut (lardo is often sliced very thinly) and seasoning. East Slavic salo uses salt, garlic, black pepper and sometimes coriander in the curing process, while lardo is generally seasoned with rosemary and other herbs.
I can get enough rice for a week on the equivalent of $2. I could probably buy the potatoes instead of rice. But not both. The only thing you have there that I've bought in the past few years is tomatoes. Locally grown, bought from the farm truck.
Wow just the corn would cost me $5 Canadian. All that would cost about $20 here where I live in Montreal Canada. Food inflation has gone up 20% since the pandemic. It's absolutely propostrous gas 2$ per litre at the lowest octane, grocery stores, restaurants, public transport etc etc. Here you guys are dealing with a war and your still able to find food much cheaper than what us Canadians and Americans pay.
Air raid sirens have to be unsettling to hear! I continue to pray that this war comes to an end! Glad that you can support the locals by purchasing their tomatoes cucumbers and so many more good things! All looked delicious! How did the quail eggs taste? Better than chicken eggs? Very good amount of food for $2.00! Hope you enjoyed your dinner 🌽🍅🥒🥔🍑🥚

@@ironkcoony bullshit!
Thank you ❤️Im pleased too see that you are both ok. I hope your families are ok too! Xxx the food looked amazing!!! Xxx
@@maritaschweizer1117 Friends at home .....in Russia? 🙄
@@hopebgoodone friend is originally from Yakutia in Siberia and worked 6 years in my company in Germany and has married in Mykolaev in Ukraine. Another friend was originally from Ukraine but live now in Russia. Not all Russians are totally brain washed.
My 3 favorite eggs are duck, quail, and then chicken. Unfortunately you can only buy chicken eggs here, so you have to raise your own if you want the others.
Thanks for showing guys! I enjoyed it!😁
Wow!! It all looks delicious!! Good to see y’all out and about!! Thank you for sharing!! Always look forward to seeing your videos and what’s going on in your life!! Much love from North Carolina!!
Hope you guys are keeping safe and well. From this market shopping video you wouldn't know that there was a terrible war going on.
In US it will be around $20-25
You forgot to specify the region where the purchase was made. In Kyiv, the prices for these products are two to three times higher.
I need to look into the cost of hiring a translator and language instructor because Ukraine looks like an amazing place! Without knowing the language I would imagine it would be impossible to function there. Stay safe you two!!
Install Google translator in your phone and you can discuss with Ukrainians quite easily after some practise.
It would be possible . Young people especially they speak really good English! And older generation they are really friendly so even if they could not understand they would still be helpful
Better learn Russian.
Hello from Edinburgh in Scotland.Hope you guys are doing OK.Find your videos very interesting . It's interesting to see how people live in other countries. Our prices are crazy high compared to yours so enjoy your prices.
Your videos are getting better better!
Love this. Take us go grocery shopping more often.
Catching up (again) on your videos. I love this one! Great content, editing, music. The ending of this video really hit hard...take care of yourselves! PS, good on you - 191k subscribers!!! 🙌
Really nice video! I liked the music with the food preparation and the video angles. In the Netherlands, that amount of food would cost about $10.
I know the blackberries here in Vancouver are about $8 for that plastic cup I saw. The good news is that they grow wild all over Vancouver and we have a nice secret-ish spot! Have a great day!
I can't even buy 1 liter of milk here in Denmark for 2 dollars lol.
Stay safe you guys!
After the start of the war in Ukraine, the dollar rose.
Now most Ukrainians earn 250 dollars a month.
In Ukraine, many can no longer afford it, only water and canned food sometimes. The government steals money, huge corruption, even humanitarian aid is not given to many.
but salary in Ukraine only 300 - 350 euro per month, the people is very poor
Huge love and support for you and the family. Stay Strong!
When Ukraine kicks out Russia, it would be wonderful if Luba and Pavlo could tour Mexico, USA & Canada! We are waiting for you 👍❤
I miss shopping in the open air rynek! I love how they price everything, they just pile it up and tell you how many hryvnia it is! I can't wait to go back!
I'm from Germany and I would estimate the costs for a similar grocery shopping to 12-15€.
Both of you are doing great, keep it up👍
I’m so glad you 2 are happy and safe … I hope it stays that way .. great video and delicious looking produce !!!
Gotta love summer veg, they're extra tasty, stay safe out there you two
That's alot .Just bought a bag of Ontario grown apples for $8. at the store.Funny a bag of Oranges not grown here was $6.Got to check out the Farmer markets a huge one in St Jacobs a 60 min drive from here.🇨🇦
Greetings from Michigan, USA! In my neighborhood right now for $2, you'd only be able to buy 6 ears of corn out of your purchase. All of that would be $15-$20 here. Prices very reasonable there buying direct. Take care. Wife and I love your videos. Parents very cool also.
In Canada it would cost $40.00 at garden market. A large tomatoe in the store cost $2.00. Its ridiculous.
@@brendabrinkmanpasichnyk3500 Here in Zürich I’d pay like 50-70 CHF for this, incredible!
I was going to say the same thing for here in Michigan... lucky I could get just the corn for $2. Incredible groceries for just $2.
Der eindruck, Die Produkte seien preiswert, billig täuscht. Man muß bedenken, wie wenig auch die Einkünfte in diesem Wirtschaftsraum sind, dann sind die Preise im Verhältnis ausgewogen
Another great video, market food looks great, buy local , good to see everyone going about normally👍
The food looks yummy 🍅🥒🌽😋👍
Really good prices. Here in Costa Rica all that costs about $8 to $10 us dollars.
Hi Pavlo & Luba .your food looks fantastic and great its all home grown and sold in the Markets .
Incredible how much food you can buy with 2$ over there. In the US, the corn alone would be 0.50 - 1$ for one piece. All together, that is maybe 30-40$ US.
That is a lot of food for $2.00 USD. Wish our food in Texas was that inexpensive. Both of you take care.
But also your salaries are much higher. Another reason why veggies and fruits are so "cheap" because everybody has a garden and grows what they need for winter. The last reason is the harvest is really good this year, thanks God people won't be hungry.
A local grown market will usually be cheaper and more healthier. You guys have a great personal garden! Stay safe!
The ending of the video with the air raid siren was very ominous of the times we live... scary to think this could happen in the rest of Europe and even in my country 🇺🇸
Were those quail eggs tasting any good?
Be safe you two!
you two seem to be incredibly nice couple and fit perfectly together. just subbed recently and really enjoy seeing the two of you happy.
That’s absolutely amazing!! Are all these things home grown too? How lovely. You wouldn’t even get one of these portions for that price in England xxx
Yes, people still have gardens and grow veggies, fruits, berries for their families. What you see in the video is very typical for Ukraine.
Sending love from philippines!!!
Damn just 3 potatoes cost me $ 2.50 in Florida (which I thought was cheap. Inflation is insane here, everything is going up so fast in price. Houses , cars, food , it's crazy.
In the US those quail eggs would probably cost about $50 dollars, if you could even find them.
At my supermarket here in Brisbane Australia, for $2 I would get 1 tomato and 1/2 a cucumber if I was lucky.
so glad you both are still safe, happy and healthy and back to youtube! i was worried for you guys!
Hey, Pavlo and Luba, great shopping, you guys got some really good deals and the produce looks really really good. I am getting hungry just watching this video. You both look really good and making the best of a bad situation. I love your community, nice that you can shop locally. Luba looks so pretty. Take care until the next video. Uh oh was that sirens I hear?? Stay safe. Slava Ukraini. Dawn and Mike from Minneapolis, USA.🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
I’m 62, my husband is 63 and our 33 yr old son had to move back home for awhile and our grocery bill is about $800 month, maybe more. And I know the food has pesticides. We buy organic as much as possible, including meat, so that’s more expensive. Amazing what you bought for $2 👍🏼🙏🏼🇺🇦
Thanks y'all 👍.
Oh my!!! I’d love to get all that for $2. I just paid $6.00 for a dozen ears of corn here in Wisconsin…
and I just paid $2 for an, 1 ear, of corn in Tokyo
We don’t have open farmer markets here in Price Utah where we live but we’ve been eating fresh garden vegetables for about a month now. FYI corn is native of the America’s. Thanks for the video Pavlo. Praying for this insane war to end and you and your family’s safety and well being
All of those vegetables would have cost well over $30 here in the US!
What an inspiration you both are, the world could take lessons from you.
Greeting and prayers from U.S.A.❤❤ Here $2 would buy 2 pieces of corn.
Very nice, indeed! It's very interesting to see how your life is, places and prices. Congratulations for both of you from Portugal.
Food looks good guys. And you both seem happier despite the ongoing Russian barbarism.
Holy moly 2 bucks goes a long way in Ukraine...stay safe, a bunch of folks are praying for ya'll daily!
At the supermarket on the weekend, 4 large corn on the cobs were £5.50 here in 🇬🇧.
In USD about $6.50
Pavlo< Can you show us how to make salo? I love salo but never made it. It is very expensive specialty more costly than Ribeye steak ( 46 USD / one Kilo)
maybe one day:)))
Salo (food)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Slavic word "salo" or "salanina" as applied to this type of food (it has other meanings as well) is often translated to English as "bacon" or "lard".
@@jankohrasko2500 Thank you. I was wondering what that stuff was.
Of course, what you wrote reminded me of Jar-a-Lardo, the clown from Mar-a-Largo. 🤓
I can get enough rice for a week on the equivalent of $2. I could probably buy the potatoes instead of rice. But not both. The only thing you have there that I've bought in the past few years is tomatoes. Locally grown, bought from the farm truck.
You did well. You can't get that much in the USA for $2.
2$ in the us might get you a cup of water.
2$ in US is not same as 2$ in Ukraine.. think out of American mindset
Right, earning $2 in the US is much easier.
Hi Sherry! It tastes the same as chickens, I did not feel a difference at all! Stay safe!
Interesting Video! 🙂
And the air-raid alarm at the end reminds everyone that the war is still going on.
People in Europe are rotting themselves, with crazy gas, crazy food prices because of the Russia invasion, i dont know what kind of war is it when you eat better and cheaper than europeans
Your meal looks good and healthy, and the prices are good. In the USA our groceries are crazy. Prices keep going up. But there are some grocery stores that have good prices still. Thanks for your video. It's good to see you are both doing well. Have a wonderful week!!
This just makes me angry! As a American that my taxes are being sent and most of my country homeless can not afford any like this! but a county that we send money to the cost of things are better? But this Admin is sending billions over seas but not helping our own!
Hello Pavlo and Luba. Thank you for sharing this video. WOW $2.00 that is a lot of vegies. Here in Australia, they want $10.00 for a lettuce. That is so crazy. Love and Blessings to you both.
