    Tip 3 is basically the same as one of the theorems an online pro came up with back in online pokers heyday i forget his name but he had a few theorems and one was "if you get called on the flop and raised on the turn, then top pair is no good."

    I play a little looser than you recommend, but not by much. On the other hand, one of the earliest habits I developed was to never go over 3 buy-ins. I didnt want to quit too early because sometimes people have a bad beat or a short card-dead streak. However, if I lost 3 buy-ins, it wasn't my night and I should cut my losses.

    I would argue theres also merit to playing AX suited, especially with small X's, like A5s, A4s, as they can make Ace high flushes, and possibly the wheel or steel wheel, as well as strong one-pair hands (especially on connected broadway boards, like AK9 rainbow)

      @@dsrrellgriffith1161 Also true, but you can also make some *really* hidden 2-pairs. For instance, AK is almost never folding on an A, 8, 4 rainbow board. A4 is ahead of AK here. You're getting *paid*.

    I had a player that x4 the big blind, I had pocket 10s and knew he didn't have much, so I 2x raised him, then for him to all in. I called, he had Q7 suited, and hit a queen on the river. What should I have done differently?
    I feel like 2 of my better options were-
    1. Either bet in way more than a min raise. I should have just flat 3-4x him to really show hand strength
    Or 2. Just call, get to the flop, see that there's no face cards and shove cause my pocket is better than the boards top potential.
    I don't know which of the 3 would have been the right decision. Clearly the first one didn't work, but who knows, he could have shoved in regardless of what I did

    • @noseboop4354
      @noseboop4354 Місяць тому

      2x raise is indeed a big sign of weakness, always 3 to 5x raise, unless you're new to the table and want to see the reaction of other players. After the other player goes all in, if it's a new player that you have no idea about, I would fold. But if you know the player well enough that their all-in is too wide, or it's a new player but they seem very casual about poker, then I'd call the all in.

      You have to adjust to the players on the table. These strategies work when the other players follow the rules. People at 1 2 are often to dumb and stubborn to fold when they should. But I've learned you can play perfectly and still loose. Short term it sucks but long term you'll come our ahead

    3: you say the tight folk only play good hands, if they are raising on that turn, when you have flopped top pair, then how good is their hand really? Nothing suited is going to drop, obviously. Would you go in with pocket 7s on the flop let alone the other cards?
    This example suggests the tight has a shit hand. You flopped top pair, mathematically, they know what the good hands are as you listed a few minutes before.
