Lets Play: "Slay The Spire" Part 18 (The Defect Ascension 1 Run 6)

This was a run was a FOR FUN run at first but then it became REAL FUN real fast.
I really doubted this deck at the start because it started very sloppy. At first it was a orb generation deck, then slowly shifted into a Kunai and Vampiric Bites deck with great defensive cards all because of an early Toxic Egg pick up.. I thought this was going to be over in act two but as the deck started to form, it started to show me its potential, and I started to see a completely different way to play! Thanks to a huge pivot in act two, we joined a group of vampires and became a vampiric automaton. I had an amazing name for this deck if we made it, I was going to call it "The Vampiric Byte" but it wasn't meant to be.. Maybe I'll make a 2.0 in the future and properly get to name this thing.. The core identity of this deck really stemmed from generating a ton of orbs that can be pushed off easily, and then shoring up our defenses with our ALWAYS upgraded skill cards like upgraded Chill, upgraded Leap, upgraded Genertic Algorithm.. and any damage we DID take, we had so many upgraded Bites that we could heal from half health to full in two turns.. We also had a Incense Burner helping us on crucial turns, giving us intangiblility allowing us to recover our loses and redefend. We also snagged a Calipers late game to keep on any excess block for following turns.. But none of that mattered versus the Time Eater.. OF COURSE WE WOULD FACE THE FREAKING TIME EATER! CMON MAN WE'VE LOST TO HIM THREE TIMES ON THE DEFECT ASCENSION ONE CLIMB! We we're like 40 or 50 health short but man it was still such a fun deck to play and build and really highlighted for me the depth this game has and just how many different ways you can play and build a deck within the confinds of this system. It truly is one of the best games I've ever played and I'm not mad about having to play and build more!
