The next thing you should research, Bruce, is the "Dunning-Kruger effect".

People throw dunning Kruger around left and right usually when somebody disagrees with them and this is an actual perfect dictionary definition case of the dunning-kruger effect

GE BWRX 300 is the tenth version of their Boiling Water Reactors. BWRX-300 has a more compact configuration, with an electrical capacity of 300 MW, reduced need for concrete and steel, and an estimated construction time of only 24-36 months. Sorry Bruce - the tech already exists. It is an evolutionary design.

they do exist they have then on ships and submarines and nuclear reactors give base load to the grid

When it comes to nuclear power and nuclear reactors the sky obviously doesn't understand anything

Whole of life cost per watt, nukes are cheaper. With current technology,
The reality is small modular reactors are potentially a world changing situation for nuclear energy, however sadly it seems only russia and china have the balls to invest in it.
Nuclear reactor that are built for power generation today are large devices that need to be built to tight tolerances onsite. This drives up the cost per watt exponentially.
The smr philosophy is around being able to build smaller reactors offsite in a controlled environment, and deliving to site and installing them in banks to get the desired capacity
They will also not use water for the cooling of the core, negating the massive structures needed to protect the environment in the case of disaster, as these cooling methods cant explode like water cooling can, they will use liquid metal or salt or a nobel gas to cool the reactor, so to save a lot of resources.
Dude every government wates crap loads of money every day, you would t belive it... A nuclear power plant is the least wasteful use of money.

Hi, I checked Ontario's electrical prices...cheap as chips...Come to Australia... Wind & solar does not work & is sending us broke...we need Nuclear (to be "clean") but because our weak, woke Government (similar to your Trudeau) ...we are paying 30 cents per KwH or more...(16 cents off peak) I think you need to re-evaluate your thoughts. We have coal & gas coming out of our arse...supplying the world in cheap (so called) dirty energy, as we shut down reliable dirty power sources...please do not comment with "Thank you for your comment." Think then reply...Cheers from Downunder...fellow brothers.
