I absolutely love your messages. Do you have any books or study guides that are written. You have so much information it's hard to take notes.

Hey Chris I’ve been useing your method in studying the bible and the text but I am having a challenge with a few text that maybe you could help.
My question is did Enoch and Elijah get taken to heaven or did they die like all others.
Hebrew seems to say this and Christ implies no one get into the throne room with these garments so what gives with these two guys.
    Thx so much Chris..

Thanks for your question, Peter. With regard to Enoch Hebrews 11:5 explicitly says that he was taken up so he would not see death. This confirms Gen 5 where Enoch is singled out as the only person mentioned in the chapter of whom it is not said that he died. As for Elijah, 2 Ki 2:11 says that he went up to heaven and then he shows up again with Moses at the transfiguration. It's also noteworthy that when a person dies this is usually stated quite clearly in the Bible, either by way of the verb "to die" or a reference to their burial or both. But none of this is ever mentioned in connection with Enoch and Elijah. So if we take the text seriously we have to conclude that both went to heaven and did not die like everyone else.

Thx you Chris for replying: The only challenge with this understanding is all die… all have sinned our garments of flesh are not fit for the heavenly realm.
Help me please get my head around this.. Methuselah name means judgement (death, ) is it possible god took him before the death judgement oh the flood.
You often mention a play on words.
Thxs again your insight I value.

You say that all die. I'm assuming you're referring to texts like 1 Cor 15:22. Yet the same Paul who wrote 1 Cor 15 says in 1 Thess 4 that there are people who will remain until the coming of the Lord, who will be taken up while still alive. So apparently not everyone dies physically speaking and Enoch and Elijah belong to that group in the sense that they foreshadow the experience of those living just prior to the final judgment and the return of Christ (which in those cases would be Noah and Elisha who are both types of Christ who bring salvation to God's people). Now concerning the garments, you are right that they are not fit for heaven. That's why we need to be clothed by God with the garments which he provides. We already see this right after the fall with Adam and Eve. And even though the text does not explicitly say so, it's fairly clear that the clothing God provides is that of animals which would have had to die. What we have here is the first hint of the sacrificial system which appears again in the very next story with Cain and Abel, showing that it was in place from the very beginning. This system pointed forward to Christ and by faith in him those who offered the sacrifices were cleansed and clothed with the garments of righteousness.

Thxs Chris for answering your answer is on par with my thought.
Blessing and I would love to hear more of how the sacrificial system worked from early genisis on.

Scripture actually tells us to "rightly divide the Word of Truth" as we study to show ourselves approved unto God.
Do theologians even know what that means?
Paul was given a different Gospel than what Jesus, Peter, James, John, Hebrews, Revelation had for Israel. Without rightly dividing these two programs (if you will, or Gospels), Christians end up with countless denominations by mixing parts of Paul's message with parts of Israel's message. Some even wind up thinking THEY are now part of Israel. ...or they have replaced Israel.
I don't think ive ever heard a theologian teach on right Division.
