With the force and speed of the bass bitees the metal actually tends to straighten out because there's nothing to catch and anchor itsilf nto the flesh. Why do you think the bait comes off so esily? Don't you think the hook would snare if it was actually a proper hook?

We'd keep them for a few weeks during the summer on our screened-in porch before releasing them. They all seemed to have their own unique food preferences: one loved strawberries; another would eat nothing but bananas, still another would only eat raw hamburger. They quickly acclimated to being handled, and also proved adept at climbing up the screens, high enough that I had to have Dad return them to the floor.
