A Kiwi who's been away from NZ for 20 years so always late to latest NZ sounds. Love plenty of the pacific sounds out of Kiwi land soo much talent but LAB stopped me when I finally caught them as after I heard the popular songs like this one I went deeper to realise that these guys are a chiasmic collection of genres and true musicianship. the lead singer captures you with that soulful voice and strong guitar chops inside those professional rhythms and fills backing these studio sesh's out! Yeah Boi!!
Can't go wrong with L.A. B. Those layers - arrangement, strings, brass section etc is reminiscent of EWF with that laid back Kiwi VIBE. There's so many more bangers for you to discover - Baby Will You Let Me, Controller, For The Love Of Jane, My Brother, Rocketship, Personify, No Roots, Why Oh Why, Natural, Under The Sun, Backseat, Oh Honey etc Fun Fact: Roundhead Studio is owned by Neil Finn from iconic 70s NZ band Split ENZ and 80s Aussie band Crowded House. He also did a stint with Fleetwood Mac. Oh and L.A.B are currently in California May 24 The Roxy Theatre, West Hollywood, CA USA May 25 Cali Roots, Monterey, CA USA May 28 The Republic, Honolulu, HI USA
love this reaction. Yes I do has a Stevie Wonder Isnt she lovely vibe to it and this studio version is the bomb. You almost forget theyre singing live with the quality and different layers meshing together perfectly. Wonder how many weddings this song is going to be played at 😂😂
one thing that comes through crystal clear in your LAB reactions in particular is the passion you have and appreciation of great music which LAB delivers in spades. They are an outstanding band able to perform multiple genres and great ambassadors for NZ. Imo this is one of their best live (in studio) performances and the sax solo from Louisa Williamson at the end is top shelf 👌
I so love your reactions. They're always informative and break down the technicalities of creating good music, which everyday music lovers like myself take for granted. And L.A.B is a great under the radar band to highlight and give extra exposure to the world to. Keep up the good work. Mauri ora 👊
Tēnā koe bro just came here to answer your query ...bt your following got you. Big fan bro, love that you have a connection to this group. And enjoy hearing your korero, your knowledge base around instruments, and constructing music. Probably the best ive heard

Another great reaction 💪 I was hoping you would react to this exact video because of the Live studio with band, seeing you appreciate all the musicians especially the brass was great 👍 Keep up the awesome reactions.
Watermark 'RNZ' onscreen is radio new zealand. Government funded radio station. If you can record at RNZ you can have top quality equipment and session musicians. And wonderful things happen.
The sax player is Louisa Williamson, she plays a lot of jazz.
She is brilliant
