I couldn't narrow it down to just 7 this week, forgive me! This seriously isn't gonna be a regular thing for this series, so don't get used to it :p this week on SOS, I counted down 10 of Linkin Park's most underrated & underappreciated songs! Of course these are by no means their only underrated tracks, so let me know some of your favorites in the comments!

I don't ever hear people talk about Hands Held High
TRUE. The lyrical meaning is very strong
Joe Likes movies Hands Held High has very good lyrics, but as a song it never got me. From all of Linkin Park songs, Hands Held High is the one I like the least.

EricAndErica M A Thousand Suns is a beautiful album and is definitely underrated but I don't think it can be compared to The Hunting Party. The sales is very less for Linkin Park's standards
and I doubt that many casual listeners would've even heard of songs like All for nothing, Drawbar, A line in the sand, Mark the graves, War and Keys To The Kingdom. I mean, all these songs are beautifully composed but are extremely underrated.
Blackout from A Thousand Suns is EASILY one of my favorite LP songs of all time. It always blows my mind to hear fans trash this album when I thought it showed the group's true creative potential. But Blackout blew my mind on the first listen & I still get chills when Chester loses it in the bridge.
Yes!! I still cringe a little when I hear In Pieces but other than that, it's pretty good. Not my favorite by any means but still a great listen.

Josh Cisneros Definitely agree with you there. I get so, SO tired of people saying "they should go back to the Hybrid Theory sound, they've sold out, *whine whine*". Linkin Park are artists, first & foremost. They create what they want to create and if you don't like it, that's fine. But don't act like you have some right to dictate where they take their sound just because you're a fan. It doesn't work that way! The true fans stick by the band, even if they aren't into what they're putting out at the moment.
MattyMatt right with ya man. I hate all the people who say "this isn't Linkin Park" like ummmmmm yes it is. They are an EXPERIMENTAL BAND. They were never subjected to one genre. And besides, bands make changes. Everyone does! We can't forget that these artist are just like us: HUMAN

Iridescent. My favourite LP song and one of the best songs I've ever heard. It's just so magically beautiful.
Mike's haunting vocals, the beautiful chorus with sweet singing by Chester, the amazing melody, powerful lyrics, the "let it go" part at the end.
Can't believe how it's not one of their most successful songs.

My favourite Linkin Park album has got to be Living Things, simply because it's a mastered version of all their styles that they've gone through in the past albums, and it works so well. I did like Minutes to Midnight has a close second though

I don't believe Michael is any kind of hardcore fanatic of any of their albums, rather he's just expressing his dislike for One More Light and the Hunting Party. While I myself like Hybrid Theory a bunch, I and presumably Michael here enjoy the rest of their albums excluding ones mentioned. Just because they don't like a recent album doesn't mean they're devoted to their debut.

ElJuninense YES, I'LL BE GONE. I'll Be Gone is my 2nd favorite Linkin Park song, only behind Leave Out All the Rest. Took a bit, but it did surpass Numb, which was my #1 before Leave Out All the Rest, but now it's 3.

Glad you pointed out Robot Boy. Not only one of my favorite LP songs, but IMO one of the best songs ever recorded. Ever since the release of ATS, I've played this song more than any other. Never gets old. Totally epic sound.

They play the melody from Blackout live as a sort of remix often. And that song was also in the soundtrack of FIFA 11. Surprised me, honestly.

How are Papercut and Don't Stay not even on this list? Honestly those two are like the two most underrated songs this band has EVER written. Papercut should easily be the fan favorite for Hybrid Theory. It's so much better than In The End and Crawling (don't get wrong I love this songs too). Papercut is hands down the best track on Hybrid Theory. Just makes ya want to start fucking jump up and down. And Don't Stay is the say story for Meteora, albeit with less jumping.
Papercut is one of their most successful songs!
Leave Out All the Rest is my personal favorite Linkin Park song and it hurts knowing that nearly nobody gives it love. I know some people may not like it due to the fact that it's more of a personal connection piece, but I can't help but feel that the song is so underappreciated. Along with that, I'll Be Gone is brilliant.

Dude Little things give you away is the new academic music (that's a good compliment if wondered), everything from A thousand suns drive me to somewhere else near the paradise (even if the album is all about apocalypse and politic issues), I personally find everything from the Hybrid Theory EP a master piece and I'm still enjoying She couldn't from one of their demos.

love these underrated song videos. heres a suggestion for another top 10 or sos (i commented this before somewhere) - top debut albums, top sophomore albums and top 3rd albums. cause the first 3 are without a doubt the most important in a bands career and can make or break a band and their future

Solid list; you hit several of my own personal highlights (Rebellion, My December, Roads Untraveled, The Little Things Give You Away), that weren't necessarily singles and/or don't sound like stereotypical Linkin Park songs.
Your mention of "Forgotten" was interesting, because while I always enjoyed that track on Hybrid Theory, it was actually one of the few tracks that I thought was even better on the remix album, Reanimation. Probably an unpopular opinion, but that was an early example of the band doing something much more low-key, electronic, and introverted, and bringing in a guest rapper to put the song in a very different context. Now that I think about it, it's probably because I reacted well to some of the more radical reinventions on Reanimation that I was willing to be patient with albums like A Thousand Suns.

I love your passion for the hunting party! I think it's a great album, all for nothing is one of favourites, so exciting to listen to both Mike and Chester singing against each other.
Little Things is one of my favorite LP songs, even though I'm still not a fan of Minutes to Midnight.
I honestly still think The Catalyst is underrated. I never hear anyone talk about it, and it seems the band doesn't really seem to acknowledge it anymore.
I'm sure at some point a few One More Light tracks will show up in the future. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it's still a definitely weak record for them.
Thank you for mentioning Rebellion! It was super underrated. And I do agree that people just didn't talk much about The Hunting Party. Such a well done album to me.
Has anyone noticed that the last track on Meteora, the last album before the band's change in style, is Numb. And the first line spoken in that song is ''I'm tired of being what you want me to be.''

my point is: when you were discusting why you didn't like robot boy at all when it was first released i felt like you could totally be saying the same thing for the stuff they're releasing now, so, if it's not your thing now, don't be disappointed, it could totally be your thing in the future

I just can't understand what people are referring to when they say One More Light sounds generic....like, in terms of what, exactly? I mean, it's such a vague statement that people have made with each and every able they've made since Meteora, so please be specific. If anything I'd say that's a generic statement from a generic fan

Good List. I probably would have cheated and sneaked in a Reanimation track, which if you can look over the stupid as hell titles and the awful In the End remix has some of the weirdest interpretations of the band's songs that might actually be better than the originals like "P5hng Me A*wy" "1Stp Klosr" and "Krwlng".
