A remark I have make a few times, I'm an European and when I watch US political programs, it is never clear, evident to make the difference between "News" and "Opinion", where I live , news programs are labeled: "NEWS"; no other program will use that label. In the US, lots of people were listening to T. Carlson for "news" but his own lawyer was saying you couldn't believe him. A few years ago, the only "news" I trusted was John Oliver in the "Late Show...". Here, a journalist giving "the news" is not supposed to have an opinion, he/she brings the facts, verifiable. In the US everybody have an opinion and you don't even know if that person is a journalist...see the interview T. Carlson and Putin!?

Chapter One - Undermine the peoples faith in the media, so they begin to doubt the nature of the truth.
Chapter Two - Polarize factions in society. When people stop seeing the other side as human. Then human rights cease to be an obstacle.
Chapter Three - Marginalize the intelligentsia, people stop listening to experts then they become malleable.
Chapter Four - Elect a candidate under the guise of restoring order. Someone smart, someone charismatic but that can be controlled.
Chapter Five - There is NO chapter 5 because now the country is yours!

Barbara is well intentioned and defines valid stragies to allow verifiable truths to be presented for discovery. Two require acts of Congress and the other require that certain individuals stop watching FOX & Newsmax and read books or articles by credible journalists. It's a toss up which comes first.

The question of whether a construction hat is backwards is considerably less important (and would receive less initial scrutiny) than whether or not the 2020 election was "stolen". When a fact checking site is right 99+% of the time - it's "credible'.
