6-7-8-9-8-7-8-7-6-7-6-5-3 .... This powerful "Stones" melody opened the secret door in LB's room where the sandalwood box was stored. Unforgettable until the day I die.
23 years later and the title song from a sound blaster speaker still draws emotion from so many of us. Our lives were changed forever. This is where gaming began, with so much creativity and passion. How have we fallen so far? How have we let investors turn such an experience into dopamine manipulating slot machines aimed at our kids? We let our guard down and Wall Street stole our world. We need to flip the game board and start over. Boycott wall street as best you can. Vote with your dollars.
This is beyond mesmerizing. It feels like I am drinking a cup of nostalgia. And the way you are playing this piece is god-sent. So expressive, soft and elegant. Thank you for this. And thanks to David Watson for the composition.
I was waiting for it for 9 years... I learned to play some kind of simplified version of Stones by transcribing your video from 2007, now I can learn it the right way. Thank you!
I'm dancing on the thin line of "how awkward to wait for 9 years for a tutorial" and "how awesome to still care after 9 years" here, but I am glad it has some use for you too. It was a special request from yesterday so I kind of fast tracked it. Just got a new keyboard a few weeks ago, so I am just getting used to it. Let me know if there any problematic parts, and I'll do my best to help - all the best while learning it.
@@Widiar0 thanks again - AJ (Pico) would've been so happy if he knew some random person in the world shared with me how to play "STONES" on the piano. Thank you so much for posting this. I remember growing up playing this with my mother, father, and older brother. It was honestly some of the best times, and I recently started learning piano - so this is an absolute treat. When I get better I definitely will properly learn this and play it for my mother.
you have no idea how much it means to me that you'd take your time to post this for me. I was the one who was talking about my buddy AJ who used to play this with me when we were in our teens who unfortunately took his life on March 12th.. stones sounds so much better on the piano than any other instrument. Also, I've been playing the piano by ear for over 25 years. Music is my life.. I produce mostly hip hop/rap, but I can really produce any genre.. In other words.. with this updated view I'll learn this by the end of the day. so thank you so much for taking the time to setup a new video for me, maybe look me up sometime? If anyone would like to learn Widiar's version of this song, check out - ua-cam.com/video/z7rAR49TN_Y/v-deo.html This is by far the best version of Stone's I've ever heard. I first played Ultima IV when I was around 8-9 years old (about 30 years ago) and this is a song that has never gotten old for me and always brings back happy memories. Thank you Widiar for uploading it! Your improvisations are awesome:)
Well, well. Long time a go I watched your first video and I knew that this is the best version of piano stones I've ever heard. There was no tutorial back then so i started to learn from your main video, note by note. And I did. I don't why but it seems that this is kind of different version from your first one. Much simpler I guess ? Some notes doesn't suits for the original video of yours. Maybe I'm just wrong but hey.... You did a huge job man :))) Maybe I should put some more of my piano arrangaments on YT.
I realize it's awkward for you to respond to such an old original video, but thanks for being a little uncomfortable in making this. I have been taking piano lessons since January 2020. I've gotten through the easy and boring lesson books, and my teacher says I am a natural, but I think it's important to focus on passion. Your original video touched me on an emotional level, so thanks for the 'training wheels version'. Ultima 6 touched me emotionally as well, and I think the whole 'gargoyles are misunderstood' message is so important today. I should focus on this instead of the sonatina I'm working on. I might have to transcribe this in to midi and print this out. Thanks again!
About 5 months ago I picked up the Roland FA-08 keyboard. It's a bit advanced for a beginner but I rather enjoy the challenge of figuring stuff out, and I didn't want to have to upgrade to anytime soon, so I went for it. I'm curious - What model Casio are you using? Does it allow you to play multiple instruments? If so, which instrument are you using? The left hand almost sounds more like a harp than a piano. I have multiple piano's available on mine, however I can't seem to locate one that sounds like yours in this video. Any info around this would be appreciated:)
I have a really hard time seeing what you press on the left hand after the intro part. Is it A, E, A, C, E, C, E, A? I can't get it to sound good. The last E on the left hand together with the D on the right hand just doesn't sound right. I've been watching this video in slow motion 100 times just can't get it right
I struggled with this myself. After a couple of days painstakingly reverse-engineering Widiar's improvisations I created a couple of midi files so that I could load it into Synthesia and learn it as well. I've uploaded the videos at ua-cam.com/video/z7rAR49TN_Y/v-deo.html for anyone else who might be interested in learning this piece.
Hopefully Enchanced iQ's Synthesia version is any help. Your note progression seems to be proper, thou I am not sure which "D note" you mean exactly you have trouble with. Let me know if you still have problems after seeing Enhanced iQ's version.

Late stage capitalism. Emotion only exists because it is necessary to serve the shareholders. Don't you know??? :/

Disregard - I mixed 'Nylon Piano' and 'Nice Piano', tweaked the cutoff/release and now it sounds quite similar to yours:)

Can you give me the video position in min:seconds where you have the difficulty and I will try to guide?
Thank you Widiar. It's 0:39 to 0:52. Basically what I am after is the left hand pattern and how it syncs with the right hand.
