Join us as we turn our lifeboat into a liveaboard! Luja is a 8.5m 60 person lifeboat we purchased from BC Ferries in May 2020 and have been converting ever since. Videos are behind, but we will be catching up! Thanks for watching!

Thanks!
When it gets hard just think, "We're so lucky. People wish they could be doing this right now."
It's true.
We all, are envious.
Can't wait for the next upload.
The new door looks great! Hopefully the walk around deck will work out.
Hopefully there is space for a rubber seal between the door and the frame.
The walkway around the boat must be strong enough for two people and support the boat when docking.
There is going to be a bulb seal around the door sealing it nicely. What you saw in this episode is just the basic wood framing before the fibreglass frame is attached to create a finished frame :)
Loved that, she is really coming together, keep up the good work
Thank you!
I had to laugh when Toryn asks himself how he's going to make it work... That is the question I've been asking myself ever since you two started this project! Great episode - I LOVE the way you two find creative solutions to weird problems!
So impressed by your accomplishments as you tackle this project.
Great video! Keep up the good work!
I really wish i could find a life boat 😒 im on the east coast but im going to keep looking 👍
There is a lifeboat graveyard with lots for sale in Texas if that helps! I can find the info if your interested.
I do not think the the hull to deck joint, covered by the rubber rub rail is really intended to be walk on. It is slopping downward to limit the potential leak to the inside of the vessel. Good luck with your modification. Keep posting
I would have kept the rubber as the is a lot of bouncing on inland waterways... you will need good solid trimming round this to stop it shattering, can you reuse the nasty black rubber?
We did, it went back on around the outside :)
Why don't you put a walk way around it
stay tuned :)
