This will include installing texture mods such as ROSA Project Evolved and other great mods such as Project 2DFX. We'll also learn how some of these mods function and cover what their files do.

- Project 2DFX got an update in January 2024 which has made it incompatible with the 2018 version of Widescreen Fix.
Since there's been no significant changes to the mod to make updating worthwhile, I've replaced the link to the mod with a mirror link of a version edited by the MixMods team, which provides an additional two fixes over the version currently on GitHub.
- ROSA Project Evolved has gotten another update. It is now one download rather than two.
The mod is now on Patreon, but you don't need to sign up or pay to access it. Free versions of the mod are two months old, while being a Patreon member gets you the latest version.
When you get to the Patreon page, scroll down a bit and you should see the latest free version of the mod available to download, without needing to join.
To install, simply download the mod, open the archive and copy the "RoSA Project Evolved" folder from the archive to your "modloader" folder.
- For the few of you who are possibly having crash issues after following this part of the guide, this is likely caused by ROSA Project Evolved.
On some PCs, DEP (Data Execution Protection) will prevent "ImgLimitAdjuster.asi" included with the exterior ROSA textures from working. If you remove "ImgLimitAdjuster.asi", the game will crash when loading, as ROSA breaks the games default IMG limit.
Download "NoDEP" from MixMods, which will then allow "ImgLimitAdjuster.asi" to work.

DO NOT FORGET TO DOWNLOAD IMPROVED STREAMING BEFORE TESTING ROSA PROJECT! Textures will not stream properly & it will look horrifying. Not sure if the "MixSets" mod is really required yet but this has fixed my issue. Idk how it ran fine for you without it unless you didn't test for vids sake but I was an impatient dummy & speed ran some of these sections lol. Finally gonna enjoy this soon
If should work without improved streaming. If it didn't, chances are Open Limit Adjuster wasn't working for you correctly, but not sure.
@@TJGM RoSA buildings aren't popping in until very close. Building LOD distance is still bad after 2DFX. Ped, Veh, Veg & Object are adjustable but not Buildings? Could you direct me to the Building parameter within these mods you've covered or is an additional mod required to increase Building LOD distance? Buildings aren't considered 'Objects', right?

For the ambient sound to work in modloader you have to put the mod folder in modloader then make a folder inside the mod's folder called "CLEO" and then put the mod's stuff in it
Hope I can find a Mixsets guide here , I mean if you've prepared it .

i did installed the Ladders Mod, but when i get to San Fierro docks that have ladders, it’s just crash the game as soon i touch the water closer
ur awesome bro thank you for all that. I just had a problem with when i use any car and stop using w on keyboard the car brakes immediately. its bc of framer limit. when i make it on the limit it doesnt do it anymore but the fps is very low. I installed 60 fps fix script and it works now
No problem. A lot of things break at higher frame rates, framerate vigilante fixes some of them, but not all.
now in November 2023 it seems all the ROSA files are integrated in one, good
Hey man, I really appreciate this video series and it's helped me quite a lot in modding this game, although i'm having one problem though.
When I downloaded the "RoSA Project Evolved" mod, I tried to extract the folder to my "modloader" folder, and after it finished loading, I got an error stating "The parameter is incorrect." with no files going anywhere. I'll try the NoDEP mod to see if that somehow helps, but I don't know. It seems like i'm the only person having this issue to out of everyone else here
EDIT: Alright, I stand corrected, it actually DID work after I installed the NoDEP mod. It's crazy how technology works... Thank you for this informative series and God Bless You

I think ROSA got a new update because when I go to its page it says "Download v1.4 June 2023 HD PC (singleplayer)
Public version (as of 2 months ago), HD (2K/4K), full and optimized download." So I'm guessing it put all of its mods (interior, exterior, cjs house and cutscenes) into one big 7zip file. Is that right, because I dont wan to go half way trough this 😄. Btw AWESOME tutorials, you are amazing when it comes to this

Hello. As of today while I watch this, Interior 100% done of CJ's house as well as Cut scenes is paywalled at Patreon. Are we ok to install interior and exterior only for the minute and come back and install the other 2 later if we decide to donate via Patreon (and I am more than sure it is well worth it)
Edit: I stand corrected. Both file links are available on Patreon just in case anyone else sees this. However, once again, I am more than sure the donation is 100% worth it considering the work they put into putting Rosa together.

I saw your old Rosa guide and it used to have a Lite version, but the modmix site now links to the updated patreon HD verson, or an Android Lite version.
Is the framework for the Android Lite download fundamentally the same as PC, or is it incompatible?

Is there an alternative to Rosa because the some of the buildings textures don’t load until I’m right up on them and the games kinda lags it’s probably my laptop
uhh idk if its supposed to happen but fsr anim and audio files keeps appearing on my main C: drive and i keep deleting it to make space but it keeps re-appearing. ive been having sudden freezes and idk if its impacting my pc but im not quite sure why they are appearing outside of the GTA San Andreas folder. and also largeaddress.exe is fsr outside of the GTA San Andreas folder just on my C: drive with a windows shield icon on it? im really confused so sorry if i sound dumb. this is probably the wrong video to comment on but as i was going through file explorer i just noticed it so uhh lol sorry

"-ROSA Project Evolved recently got an update, which now includes 4 downloads instead of 3. The new download is "Interior of CJ's house". However, to install, it requires you to mess around with the ROSA IMG archives. Unless you're confident you know what you're doing, just skip downloading "Interior of CJ's house" for now, it will likely be included in a bigger ROSA update in the future."

is there any mod which reduces the lag spikes that im experiencing while playing san andreas?
For some reason I can't get SaaS to play nice. It crashes just at the end of the loading bar when creating a new file. CrashInfo points to a CLEO script, and SCRLog doesn't catch anything. Upon uninstalling SaaS though, the game runs fine again. If anybody else is having issues as of 8/2/23 and the ROSA fix didn't work, you might look there. A big thank you to you TJGM for this series!

@@TJGM Strangely enough it works if I install it into my Modloader folder, but not if I install it into the CLEO folder like in the video. I won't mess with it much more past this as it seems to work just fine just as long as it's installed into Modloader.

Hi, while copying RoSA to the game file, I keep getting an error message when it reaches to "grenade.dff". It gives options of try again, skip or cancel. Any advice would be grateful ✌🏾
Is there a fix for ROSA not opening at all? I followed the instructions in the description, but the game refuses to open, is there any fix for this?
ROSA evolved is bugged, my car mud now moves like a reflection which breaks immersion, without rosa mod the mud and dirt on sides of the cars were still but with rosa it moves like a reflection, is there a fix for this ?

RoSA has recommended/links to like 6 other mods, & those have recommended/links to more mods, but some are included with each other & it starts turning into a big can of worms
After installing these mods im getting 35-50fps with r5 5600x and rx 6700 xt it's my pc problem? or the game

Idk if you went over it yet, but after we installed all the essential mods could we put frame limiter off? Just so we’re not stuck on 30fps. Or should we set the frame limit somewhere else, like on the Open Limit Adjuster?
Keep it on. If you want to play at 60FPS you should use the mod Framerate Vigilante.
I didn't cover it in this guide because it doesn't fix everything unfortunately, but it does fix the major frame rate issues. Keep it locked to 60 however, as more things break the higher you go.
@@TJGM thanks for the reply! I turned it off and put vsync on (i have 60hz monitor) through nvidia control panel, but i also had frame limit to 60 through riva tuner as well. But if the Framerate mod you mentioned works better i’ll use that instead and turn off vsync and rivatuner setting
@@ItsYurVatoAlex I'd actually recommend using RivaTuner to limit to 60FPS, it seems to have the best frame pacing out of the lot.

Hi TJGM, I did everything in this guide including the showcases and the game runs great. I do have a pretty big problem, all the textures are loading in but they take way too long to load in. like almost 5 seconds which is not a lot of time but it's very noticable. What should I do?
Try increasing the streaming memory setting in Open Limit Adjuster to 1GB. Let me know if it works please.
hi@@TJGM I managed to fix it by doing these two things:
1. I had applied the large address patch to 1 of 2 exe files I was using. So I applied it to both.
2. And just like you recommended I also raised the limit adjuster to 1GB.

i downloaded ambient sounds into my cleo folder like you said and it crashes after the loading screen, i tried putting it in my mod loader to see if that works and the game runs but i don't think the mod is actually working

Is it ROSA project support with samp?
for the texture overhaul mod if i install a different mod that changes textures for example billboards do i need to put this as a higher priority so it uses that instead of rosa project?
It depends, as most of the ROSA textures are in IMG archives, which always have a lower priority anyway, so you wouldn't need to change the priority (I covered this in episode 3).
But typically, if one mod replaces a texture, and you want another mod to replace that texture instead, just set the priority of the mod you want to be higher than the priority of the other texture mod.

Hey there I had a question. So I have followed every video until this point and now the game wont open , not even my backups. Is this due to one of the applications that i had to install and did i do something wrong with them?
Delete your user files folder and try again. If you haven't restarted your PC either, do that too.

Hi I’ve followed your entire guide and installed all the recommended mods in these videos. The ROSA Project Evolved mod though doesn’t load the game for me. It gets stuck at the last bit of the loading bar. If I check Task Manager I see the game is not responding but it hasn’t crashed. The background loading music still plays. I have medium slightly dated specs 16GB DDR4, RX580 8GB, i7-6700k. Any suggestions? Should I simply wait out the loading? I imagine it doesn’t load properly.
Have you tried noDEP? I mention it in the pinned comment.
@@TJGM have tried and still no luck. CrashInfo doesn't say anything either since it doesn't crash. Just stops responding on the very last loading bit.

Hello there, i hope to get answer aftef intalling rosa project involved and did eveything as you did, the game wont boot, i deleted the exteriors the game start, i reinstalled the exteriors the game wont boot i deleted the hole rosa project ghe game work fine. So whats the problem. Please help

How do your files copy over so fast? I tried copying the ambient sound folder but it said it was going to take 6 hours. and for the ROSA project it said it was going to take more than a day... I have the game saved on an NVME D: drive
Some edits are made to cut the copying stuff out, but there's no way it should be taking that long, during the making of this video I only used a SATA SSD and no mod took more than a minute to copy or extract.
Are you copying the files from a slower drive?

hi, im getting alot of textures flickering and a slight blur, any ideas on what is casuing this?
Increase streaming memory in Open Limit Adjuster to 1024.
@@TJGM just tried at 1024, sings etc still flicker but as soon as i get close they sort themselves out, should i try 2048? or am i missing something im sure ive followed it spot on

This is a separate guide from the beginner guide. Don't follow both.

Hi TJGM, will my game lag after i install rosa project evolved
HERE ARE MY SPECS:
4 gb ram
intel uhd 630
intel core i-3 9100 CPU @3.60 Ghz
after following the guide it worked fine, but I have a huge issue, I can not save anything, it just says saving failed and that I should check my directory but I dont know what to do here and I am basically stuck, great guide btw

same issue here, saw the full playlist of the guide, and on the process i managed to save once (during the testings) but after finishing i cannot save. I gave administrator permissions, run with compatibilities, check antivirus, everything. I checked the "GTA SA User Files" folder in "My Documents" and tried cutting out the "set" and "b" files, and nothing....@@TJGM

hey! RoSA Project doesn't let the game start, I've tried removing all mods and leaving only RoSA Project because it could be in conflict with another mod, but once again I couldn't start the game.
But if you remove RoSA Project the game starts normally.
Is there any solution for this problem?

i think this is more than enough to run this game i dont know why im getting stutters
You could try Proper Fixes, which includes the SA Optimized Map mod, which improves streaming optimization all over San Andreas.

I don't want the ped, weapons and vehicle textures of Rosa.what can I do?
I don't believe it's that easy to separate as they're included in IMG archives with map textures.
Any ped, weapon or vehicle textures you do install after ROSA though, will be used instead over the ROSA textures, as explained in the guide.

I put SAAS and Project2dfx and my fps is sagging, from 60 frames to 50 places, and it doesn’t matter if the mods are together or separately ... I don’t recommend these mods ....
Sorry but those mods are fine on any sort of modern computer.
You can uninstall any mods in this video that you don't like though, but these mods are still heavily recommended, especially Project 2DFX which greatly enhances the visuals.
Others mods work but some gave me a virus

Edit: If i do what you suggest i get stuck on the loading screen while the music is playing and the exe is suspended when i press new game BUT if i lower the priority to 49 i cycle over to the closest mural of a woman and its not hd so it doesn't work...
i have the same problem, spent hours looking for a fix, it seems to be just the exterior folder?
@@shakezist same here interiors cut scenes and cjs house works perfectly but exterior fails to extract

Is there no way to fix the tick rate so it isn't bound to framerate? I really don't want to go through all this effort modding this gem just to be forced to play it at a suboptimal 30 fps just to make the physics and swimming not go haywire.
Can anyone verify that the Rosa files from mixmods are clean please? I had some malware trouble with this a week ago when i was installing gtasa.
They're clean, they're literally only game files.
