I don't really know how to play the guitar, but I'm readying myself to play this song before I propose to my girlfriend tomorrow. With a little luck and thanks to this vid, it'll be worth it. Thanks!!!
Sorry for the late reply, it went pretty well 😅 turns out she doesn't have a fine tuned ear and we've been happily married for almost 4 years now. It's been most excellent but I don't feel confident with singing it out for her again.. not without some practice first 😳
Wow, a tutorial that doesn’t go too fast to understand yet doesn’t crawl along slow as molasses and actually explains things? Have I died and gone to heaven?
Pete, you really made my day! This song has always been a favorite. I've never even considered trying to play it though. But, thanks to your tutorial, a couple minutes of practice, and I CAN PLAY IT! Yeah, it needs work, but I never would have or could have without your tutorial. THANK YOU!
@pisdon2 That's good mate. Many people have problems with barre chords and using the capo on the 2nd in this song reduces the amount of barre chords necessary. So this video is just showing an alternative way of playing it. I covered it without the capo myself, but I personally think using the capo does make it a little easier.
thanks, I love it. great progression. never knew it. always loved the beatles. someone gave me a book about their lyrics now I want to play these songs I have known all my life. drove with my mother to take my sister and friends to see them in new Orleans when I was still very young. never saw such lunacy from teenaged girls. took me awhile to figure it all out, but I finally went out and bought a guitar and I could sing in tune and the rest is kismet. paul simon wrote a line. I lying neath the stars, just playing my guitar, and thanking the lord for my fingers.......the was called Duncan...cheers mate
Hi my friend, I saw a video of a street musician with a drum kit on his back, playing a guitar and singing this song, so I came straight to my Beatles go to and that's you. I thought for sure John wrote this anyway another great one by the fab four. Thanks, Peace 🕊️.
It does not go to A7 (Really B7 Capo 2ND fret) every time. On the word "ooh" right BEFORE the word "closer", the chord changes to a Gm (really Am Capo 2nd Fret).
Thanks mate. A lot easier for me to play with the capo. After a couple of days I removed the capo and played it without. Could never get my head round all the chords.. Thanks again man, your teaching methods are great... Keep Rockin...:)
I don’t understand all of that discussion in the beginning. If you just put the capo on the first fret and do exactly what you said, that’s the song in the correct key.
Thanks, yet again, for a great and quite useful lesson. I'm steadily working to get a repertoire together to perform solo gigs and I just remembered today this song doesn't have an instrumental break which is what takes longer to learn. So, I'll throw this one into mix!
Once again an excellent tutorial. I have no problem playing the chords and I know the words and can sing the song....but not both at the same time..any suggestions?..creative ones please haha!...thanks for all your playing lessons
Excellent lesson you are awesome thank you so much, my grandson loves The Beatles and now I can play for him myself. I will be back to learn more Beatles thank you
Every morning, when I begin to work, I take a look into my ABO and I hope to find a new tutorial from Peter .... and ... WOW Peter, THX again for this tutorial ... With best regards from Cologne, Germany
I really appreciate the details you provide in this tutorial. I'm a little bit more advanced for a beginner play that was looking for an easy barre cord song this did the trick
I was actually struggling with this song (teaching meself for about two years now) and your lesson of it with capo 2nd fret did the trick for me. Thanks a gazillion for this lesson, Pete!! From a McCartney, M.P. from the land up over. :)
Awesome work, as always, Peter. Thanks for taking the time to bring some happiness into an otherwise crappy work-week! I believe your tutorials and covers are keeping me from developing an ulcer. Add "Healer" to your resume.
thats great thanks . I can play it for my new girlfriend .
omg
Claudia Ellis are you the girlfriend
Give us an update are y’all still dating
king
Are you guys still dating
Lennon wrote this song, thought it suited Harrison's voice.

How did it go?
Mission failed we'll get em next time
I think your GF insulting you every time she remembers your guitar playing

Oh, so the capo - that's the secret! Thanks man :]
Ele só precisaria destacar os acordes no vídeo.
Barre chords are not more complicated than a clumsy capo.
You're the man, any lesson you have available would be valuable to any guitar player!
Really cool video. Only that.... George didn't write this song, pity really.

love yer wk - but this is a john lennon song - he let george sing
@drno62 True, he didn't write it. He did sing it though.
George sang it but it was a Lennon-McCartney song
Amazing thanks so much!
Wow! This is perfect! I love it! Thank you so so so so much!!!
Brillant song by John Lennon

Briliant tutorials for The Beatles and Oasis, keep them coming!
You need Am in. "Oo uoo oo closer." to be perfect Am. or Gm. With capo in second freet
Or C
@@marcuovalcer7628 Yeah, I always play a C there.
Esse cara é o mais objetivo e ensina bem pra caramba e com simplicidade.
