The whole "Lamb, tell me a story" exchange is one of my favorite lines in the game. I know they represent death, but it's somehow just so heartwarming, with how melancholic the Lamb is, and how naive, excitable and earnest Wolf sounds. On the other hand, they can be terrifying to play against haha. Nothing quite like minding your own business in the game and suddenly getting marked while you hear them say "The masks of the Kindred seek you!" in unison. Definitely one of the best characters they made. When you tire of all these darker champions, though, and when you can fit him on the list, I recommend you check out Kled. He's goofy as hell, and some of his lines are... interesting, to say the least.
There was originally cuss words in Kled's lines, but someone thought it was too much. I forget what they were exactly, something simple, like "can you believe this shit" or the like.

Elegant way of describing Them. I've enjoyed the poetic element of Kindred for many years, and I can play quite well with Them. That ult can win, or lose, a game in a moment.
Fun fact: in the french version of kindred's voicelines, there is a kid's song. The lyrics goes like this: "lamb: let's take a walk in the wood, while the wolf ain't here, 'cause if it was... wolf: *scary heavy breathing*"
Oh! There’s a hispanic version of this song that’s used in a game, me and my friends used to play this a lot as kids. This is how the game went: One person was the wolf, and hid somewhere, the rest of us sang this song, and at the end we would ask something by the lines of, “wolf, little wolf, are you there?” And the wolf could answer that he wasn’t there, and we sang the song again, and the wolf could pospone it as long as he wished. But when the wolf eventually came out, it didn’t say anything, it just sprinted out of its hiding place and you had to run away and make sure it didn’t get you, it turned into a kind of “tag, you’re it” game. This is how the song went: “Jugaremos en el bosque, mientras el lobo no está, porque si el lobo aparece, el lobo nos comerá. Lobo, lobito, ¿estás ahí?”
It is sad for me that i have been playing League for 8 years, maining Kindred since their first release for 6 years but almost noone cares about them until Riot decided to make Lamb a freaking loli and now people jump into the character because of Spirit Blossom Kindred Lamb's design. Those know Kindred of that loli fetish thingy doesn't desverve them.
Yep, you got it right, they are the grim reaper of this universe. They're ultimate(I think, not sure tho) I think it makes a reference to the ballance that they are also trying to keep, not just killing anyone, but preventing the death of those whose time is not yet to die
Yeah Kindred's interactions always get me too 😭 What I think is even more sad is the irony of their personalities. Wolf is the emotional one, feeling everything 200% but has no idea what he's feeling. Lamb can't feel emotion and yet she is the one who knows what each emotion is and tells Wolf what he's feeling. Great video once again and on one of my favourite champions too! Keep it up

hey man great video as always, i recommend watching wat we call interactions, basically it gives context to most of these voice lines, wat i can recommend is listening to the uncut version of the voice lines then followed up by the interactions, ofc it can make the vid lengthy but the interactions arent always very long, or u can just listen to the interactions only but imo sometimes that can make u miss on some gems that sometimes hidden in the lines, if u're really interested in the league universe i highly recommend it, ofc it can leave more questions of why did they say that thing to that certain champion but in time these interactions will make more sense in time, i just think it would be very awesome to see u understand more and more interactions thru out more vids to come, just my opinion tho, keep up the good work
@Ninja Hitman thanks! Great idea, the thought did cross my mind but didn’t want the video to be too lengthy. Think like you say I could combine the interactions with the full voice lines and or anything else I can find. Have had a few recommendations on other kindred related stuff to check out...so maybe that will be part two. I did check out the first minute of the Sett interactions and they were entertaining so will look at doing these at some point.
@@TheReelSym when it comes to lore stuff and stuff u just listen to i think lengthy can be fine(at least for me) the interactions between champs and sometimes when the champ does a certain action(placing wards, moving from base, respawning and a lot more actions)will add alot of flavour and context. also if u didnt know skin lines in league have their own lore, they're not as big ofc but they can be a very nice twist on the champ nature, and sometimes a combination between 2 different skin lines(wont spoil that one just yet) that could be another idea for another vid. thanks for taking up the time to reply.

When Looking at Kindred's Ultimate and how it stops people from dying, one of her voice lines when she ults is "savour life's closing path" another being "not here not yet" basically kindred or Lamb and wolf are the living embodiment of death so along with that they decide when you die and that's why her ultimate stops people from dying it's kindred basically saying you are not to die now.
It's probably more about ideology than personality, considering how the story mentions opposing nations. If you recall the Legends of Runeterra videos, Noxus is fascist-esque and value power and strength above all else, so they'd see Lamb's choice as weakness and cowardice. Demacia is all about dignity and pride, so they'd see Wolf's choice as pathetic and weak. Lamb laughing at the squire was probably more at the squire not choosing her, and facing the consequences. Sport, instead of clean and quick. Besides, they're way too old to care about innocence. They're not evil, they're a fundamental law. For example, if no one could die, then we'd suffer from extreme overpopulation very quickly. I dunno if you saw, but Lamb's Respite prevents everything from dying, not just allies, symbolizing how death is in essence impartial and objective.
Yep that video is great the music and the voice line go together so well. “my favourite portrayal of death in media” when I come to think of it yeah I think I agree! It’s creepy, sad and beautiful all at the same time.
“Tomorrow is a hope, never a promise!” is a quote i didn’t expect to find so much relatable to me, cause it’s true. Hope to free myself from the dark. Hope to see the phoenix inside me. Hope to be the one i want to be in front of everyone with no fear and no desperation... Maybe that’s why i main Kindred - because of the fake promises that i hear every single day!
Fun fact: Jhin and Kindred share similar attributes as they were developed around the same time. The hunting mechanics was originally ment to be for jhin, who was a robotic cowboy bounty hunter (which ended up being his release skin). They scrapped that and added to kindred turning jhin into a psychopath serial killer. This was referenced in the lore by stating that kindred is usually around places jhin has been, as he brings death wherever he goes
been waiting for this i reaaaalllyyy loved the reaction as i also did main kindred before. fun things to note is in the splash art where they are standing over the dead body, since its animated whenever wolf comes close to the persons face, the light he emits makes the illumination on the person to show thier skull. and for the ultimate, its just a personal opinion of mine, i think that since it prevents everyone from dying for some time. i think that it represents the time lamb gives someone to choose how to die before they die which ties in nicely as a lot of dying in game happens after the ultimate ability ends. love the vidsss keep them coming 🙏🙏

If you want more on Kindred there is a short story about her made by Riot, its pretty cool definitely recommend plus you can always watch her "interactions", which are basically voicelines that are triggered when performing certain things while in game(Killing/encountering other champions, buying items etc...). Definitely one of my favorite champion designs.
even if you don't make a reaction video out of it i really recommend you to read the "A Good Death" story and also listen to the champion theme The Kindred are probably my favorite champion in the game, and mostly because of lore and theme great reaction :)

Unfortunately Kindred is one of those characters that Riot until recently pretty much forgot about even though in my opinion they are the best champion in terms of concept and design. The character's voice lines are hauntingly beautiful yet sad and their newest skin called spirit blossom Kindred tells another version of their tale. In this version The Gray Man, what Kindred was called before they split in two, let the hate and loneliness get to him and took a magic axe and tried to kill himself. However because The Gray Man is immortal it split himself in two instead and made a friend which happens to be himself.

As I already commented on the voiceline-video (the same one you selected, funnily enough!) Kindred is my favoured champ in aesthetics, voicing and personality. Fun fact: If you listen to their voicelines closely you can tell that lamb is actually blind and wolf is deaf. While Lamb knows what emotions are, but cannot feel them, and vice versa for wolf.
great video as always! If i may suggest something it's Pyke, overall a badass champion with a great theme song, abilities, backstory and voice. Also kinda dark so it fits with this one and jhin :D
The duality between Lamb and Wolf is amazing. Lamb is the wisdom, know all the emotion but do not feel them, While Wolf is pure emotion, feel all of them but do not understand them. Lamb is blind, while Wolf is deaf. And finally Lamb is the peaceful death the embrace, while Wolf is the brutal death, the fight; the denial or the warrior's death too (like in noxus or freljord)
Sweet video, and agreed on ghe cills part:D i really like the idea behind kindred. Also id recommend a reaction to Falconshields "This is war" series. Its a hige collaboration between some of some of the league communitys streamers artists and such who basically make rap cyphers for different regions on the league world. The first ones a tad wonky but the rest is pure gold :)

Good video and reaction. I said it before but I hope your videos get more views, simply because you properly dive into what you are reacting to, whether that includes reading a story such as in this one, or finding info through a second video or another source. Its a different and better style than 90% of what passes for reaction videos on youtube nowadays. That being said, Kindred is one of my favorite hero concepts in all of the existing games. The idea of Death itself feeling lonely and willingly separating into two entities, each with their own personality and drawbacks - like another person commented, one with feelings but without understanding and the other being opposite. It's a shame that their abilities in game always felt lack-luster to me so I never got to play them much. Quite a bit of passion and work was put into creating Kindred, and it shows.
Riot did an amazing job and actually a very like touching and like heart wrenching job on our view of death we see death as something to fear so we try all our lives to run from it which is wolf but the few who cherish their moments and accept death don’t suffer they Rest In Peace and go willingly to lamb
You should check Aatrox: He is one of my most favorite champions and his backstory and some voice lines are pretty tragic but his cause is the end of everything His theme is also metal asf.
The grim reaper was basically invented during the Black Death in Europe. Death, the person to bring one to the afterlife, was not always seen as a skeleton or something to fear. The Black Death changed that. Suddenly in culture we find him depicted as a skeleton.

They should make a nemesis for wolf who is always one step ahead of the chase after resisting wolf. Would be really sick to see how they could approach that.
Such a strong symbol. The creative team of riot really outdid themselves with making up such a rich mythology. What I love most about them is that you would expact the wolf to be a cold hunter and the lamb to be pure and innocent. Yet the wolf seems very immature and impulsive, always asking the lamb about stuff and being held back by it and the lamb is a very calm and collected hunter and has VERY deep lines. It fits their roles very much aswell. The lamb takes down the mature ones who accept their end calm and gently, while the wolf chases and hunts down those who "selfishly" refuse to accept that their time has come and hold on to their lives. I assume Aatrox would like to have a word with them?

When Looking at Kindred's Ultimate and how it stops people from dying, one of her voice lines when she ults is "savour life's closing path" another being "not here not yet" basically kindred or Lamb and wolf are the living embodiment of death so along with that they decide when you die and that's why her ultimate stops people from dying it's kindred basically saying you are not to die now.
Edit: As i was saying Kindred decides when you die, so they also decide how long you live for.
It's probably more about ideology than personality, considering how the story mentions opposing nations. If you recall the Legends of Runeterra videos, Noxus is fascist-esque and value power and strength above all else, so they'd see Lamb's choice as weakness and cowardice. Demacia is all about dignity and pride, so they'd see Wolf's choice as pathetic and weak. Lamb laughing at the squire was probably more at the squire not choosing her, and facing the consequences. Sport, instead of clean and quick. Besides, they're way too old to care about innocence. They're not evil, they're a fundamental law. For example, if no one could die, then we'd suffer from extreme overpopulation very quickly.
I dunno if you saw, but Lamb's Respite prevents everything from dying, not just allies, symbolizing how death is in essence impartial and objective.
Best quote of kindred: when you mark someone -> Both kindred : "The masks of the Kindred seek you ."

Fun fact: Jhin and Kindred share similar attributes as they were developed around the same time. The hunting mechanics was originally ment to be for jhin, who was a robotic cowboy bounty hunter (which ended up being his release skin). They scrapped that and added to kindred turning jhin into a psychopath serial killer. This was referenced in the lore by stating that kindred is usually around places jhin has been, as he brings death wherever he goes
been waiting for this i reaaaalllyyy loved the reaction as i also did main kindred before. fun things to note is in the splash art where they are standing over the dead body, since its animated whenever wolf comes close to the persons face, the light he emits makes the illumination on the person to show thier skull. and for the ultimate, its just a personal opinion of mine, i think that since it prevents everyone from dying for some time. i think that it represents the time lamb gives someone to choose how to die before they die which ties in nicely as a lot of dying in game happens after the ultimate ability ends.

Yeah noticed that too, its a nice little touch. The closer kindred gets to them the more dead they look. Interesting way of looking at their ultimate, makes sense. It is called Lambs Respite so yeah once its over you more than likely are going to die!

If you want more on Kindred there is a short story about her made by Riot, its pretty cool definitely recommend plus you can always watch her "interactions", which are basically voicelines that are triggered when performing certain things while in game(Killing/encountering other champions, buying items etc...). Definitely one of my favorite champion designs.

Unfortunately Kindred is one of those characters that Riot until recently pretty much forgot about even though in my opinion they are the best champion in terms of concept and design. The character's voice lines are hauntingly beautiful yet sad and their newest skin called spirit blossom Kindred tells another version of their tale. In this version The Gray Man, what Kindred was called before they split in two, let the hate and loneliness get to him and took a magic axe and tried to kill himself. However because The Gray Man is immortal it split himself in two instead and made a friend which happens to be himself.

Kindred is my favoured champ in aesthetics, voicing and personality.
Fun fact: If you listen to their voicelines closely you can tell that lamb is actually blind and wolf is deaf.
While Lamb knows what emotions are, but cannot feel them, and vice versa for wolf.

That one voice line with the axe gave me chills. You should do one of these on Aphelios, he's supposedly the most complicated champ in league.
The duality between Lamb and Wolf is amazing.
Lamb is the wisdom, know all the emotion but do not feel them, While Wolf is pure emotion, feel all of them but do not understand them.
Lamb is blind, while Wolf is deaf.
And finally Lamb is the peaceful death the embrace, while Wolf is the brutal death, the fight; the denial or the warrior's death too (like in noxus or freljord)

Yeah, the new Kindred skin is a the interpretation of the Kindred in the land of Ionia, a nation in story. Those people see Kindred as a little girl in a mask.

Good video and reaction. I said it before but I hope your videos get more views, simply because you properly dive into what you are reacting to, whether that includes reading a story such as in this one, or finding info through a second video or another source. Its a different and better style than 90% of what passes for reaction videos on youtube nowadays.
That being said, Kindred is one of my favorite hero concepts in all of the existing games. The idea of Death itself feeling lonely and willingly separating into two entities, each with their own personality and drawbacks - like another person commented, one with feelings but without understanding and the other being opposite. It's a shame that their abilities in game always felt lack-luster to me so I never got to play them much. Quite a bit of passion and work was put into creating Kindred, and it shows.
Great video as always. Kindred is one of the most uniquely designed champions for sure.

Riot did an amazing job and actually a very like touching and like heart wrenching job on our view of death we see death as something to fear so we try all our lives to run from it which is wolf but the few who cherish their moments and accept death don’t suffer they Rest In Peace and go willingly to lamb
You should check Aatrox: He is one of my most favorite champions and his backstory and some voice lines are pretty tragic but his cause is the end of everything
His theme is also metal asf.

The grim reaper was basically invented during the Black Death in Europe.
Death, the person to bring one to the afterlife, was not always seen as a skeleton or something to fear.
The Black Death changed that.
Suddenly in culture we find him depicted as a skeleton.

Such a strong symbol. The creative team of riot really outdid themselves with making up such a rich mythology.
What I love most about them is that you would expact the wolf to be a cold hunter and the lamb to be pure and innocent. Yet the wolf seems very immature and impulsive, always asking the lamb about stuff and being held back by it and the lamb is a very calm and collected hunter and has VERY deep lines.
It fits their roles very much aswell. The lamb takes down the mature ones who accept their end calm and gently, while the wolf chases and hunts down those who "selfishly" refuse to accept that their time has come and hold on to their lives.
I assume Aatrox would like to have a word with them?

recommending aatrox, you've probably gotten this one before, but i really like his character because of the mix of pure hatred but also the melancholy he embodies
You should check out Aphelios, Akali, Camille, Irelia, Pyke and Sylas.
They have some of the best champion themes in my opinion.
You should do sylas he has a great story and trailler and hes story is a comic as well
Looking at the content on Sylas I think I would need to break his down into two parts. Would want to make sure I covered everything properly. I would say he is one of if not the most requested champion.
