Jesse and team, you do SUCH a great job on all your videos not just with verbal explanations and all the tips, but with camera angles to show things clearly as well.
Have these been cleared for safety by vets where there’s often a risk of a head collar increasing pressure around the eye and causing problems with circulation from the neck to the head for dogs with primary glaucoma. They look a brilliant solution for safety and to stop rain getting into our dogs eye providing they don’t cause pressure build up around the remaining eye or cause problems with circulation under his chin where you talked about the need to adjust "so that the elastic portion of the strap it’s just a little bit tight." Regards, John
I ve a German Shepard who have Pannus since her 3 years now shes 8 years was the vet who told me to get ones to protecte her Eyes from solar radiation..nevertheless u have some valid points.
This is my guess.. a head collar could be a problem because of how tight they are and from tension/pulling/tugging from the leash. These goggles arent on super tight as it appears and wont have any sort of external forces applied to the goggle, unlike the collar.
I took my springer complete with her Eddie the Eagle goggles into the Royal Veterinary College for her appointment the other week. The ophthalmologist was really impressed with them and took Bella to show her colleagues and even took a video of her!
Why do people wear sunglasses? To protect our eyes from uv, sand and dirt when its windy, glare from snow or lakes, etc. Dogs eyes work just like humans, so anything we use glasses to protect us from dogs can also benefit from. My dogs hikes, hunts, and goes all over with me. He is out just as much as me and his eyes are at eye level of plants, pollen, sticks, etc a lot more. So its great he is protected!
@@twitchc6c723 following the logic you're using there, "why do people wear sunglasses" we ought to put all sorts of things on our dogs... such as boots to the point of malformed paws, literal trenchfoot but for dogs, and paws that are unable to balance on their own. Your creating a failed animal that wont be able to cope unless wrapped up like a human because... "why do people wear sunglasses hurrdurr" you're projecting your own emotions onto the animal!
@@doriandundee9906 My springer spaniel lost an eye whilst running around the woods and bulldozing her way through the undergrowth. She managed to get 3 thorns in her eye and had to be rushed to the Royal Veterinary College. She eventually lost that eye. I asked the ophthalmologist if this was quite common and she told me that she had 3 dogs in that day with thorns in their eyes. My springer now wears Rex Specs whenever we are out to protect her remaining eye. She is perfectly happy wearing them and it doesn't bother her one bit. I have tried other protective goggles for dogs but Rex Specs are by far the best on the market. You only have to see how many scratches she gets to the lenses to see why she needs to wear them!
@@jill517 Yeah, since I wrote that comment my cat actually lost an eye in a fight and the injury is still very severe even after surgery :( Wish I had these for my cat before this happened but then again, my cat would never accept anything like that.

They r so well made. The strap design is the best part. I never thought there could be a way to strap goggles to a dogs head

These are like pit vipers for dogs
Why would a dog need these? And no, I don't airlift my puppy out of a lake with a helicopter
