I love that Michael is from my current hometown. He comes here frequently to perform, despite the small and relatively unimportant stature of the town.
It is quite surprising that Il Pirata is not known at all. I had the pleasure to see this performance. Everything was outstanding. Amazing singers as well as an excellent Geneva orchestra; even the French horns did a very good job!
Glorious ~ hearing his voice recently in the Wien Staatsoper was a treat and joy - so warm, rich and expertly produced - Bravissimo!! Can't wait to see his Pirata in Paris later this year.
I am waiting for him singing « le postillon de Long jumeau ».Superb voice and interpretation.I remember with emotion his DonJose in Paris in tce with M’N. Lemieux, he touched me a lot and it was my 5th Carmen.I hope to go to Bastille to hear him in this opera with Radvanovski. I cross France, Other countries to hear him’, unfortunately still now in San Francisco, we are not very lucky🌗
@@karlheinzkirchmann6469 from watching a lot of videos of him talking about his journey with his voice, most of the work he did figuring out his tenor range came after he was done with school. He talks about how became a bit of a voice scientist, obsessed with the technical aspect of how the voice works, to figure out how to fully unlock the tenor range on top of his natural baritone. His voice is kind of a miracle because his career is proof that the human voice is capable of so much more than what even the most skilled opera singer typically will use. I personally feel that it also goes to show that the modern classification system we use, in a lot of ways, unnecessarily limits people and forces us into a box. It didn't used to be this way. Singers used to be a lot more free to use the full capability of their voice.
I am jealous that you heard him live. The impression I get is that his voice is more sizeable than other Rossini tenors plus he has all these strong low notes you never hear from this type of tenor.
Helmut Fischer Many of his clips seemed to me to involve almost pick-up forces. Improvisatory surroundings, bad playing and conducting, and most strangely, what sounded like small and distinctly tepid audiences.
It's a pity how little music is valued today, that singers have to take on all jobs they get to be able to survive. There's no chance we can learn all that by heart, because performing is the smallest, yet the only visible part of our lives.
Comunque bravo.
How nice to know we'll have such a wonderful tenor to listen to in 2096!
Magnifique, quel chant, quel musicalité, quelle élégance !

Michal Spyres is absolutely adorable

Wow....he is great. I saw and talked to him after his concert in Amsterdam October 2018. His voice and interpretations are brilliant. Bravo!
Gorgeous voice. Flawless phrasing. Ahhhh....
God that sounds difficult. Well done Michael!
!Bellìsimo!Bravìssimo!¡Gracias,Helmut!Saludos desde Uruguay,en el Cono Sur de Amèrica!
I really wish you do a concert in TX … please!!

Do you know the precise dates of the Pirata? I see it's going to be a concert version. So where will it take place? I certainly hope not the Bastille!
@@danielm8840 I don't know the dates, but my belief is December?

One of my recent favorites in the past few years. Uff.. #BariTenor
Bravissimo!!! Pure bel canto style!!! I love it!!
beautiful,....lesson of singing
Would like to hear from him how and where he learned. I think He had to go a hard way.. He sings with 4 Octavs. And now he is SUPER-PERFECT.

Sublime interpreter! Thank you.
Bravo
I hope to hear him in USA , because i heard him many times in France, in Barcelona, in Italy but my family is in San Francisco! I keep hope!

Menudo cañón........ justicia para este magnífico artista.....
lucky....hamsome best voive nice beard oh me gooooooddd i love hem
5:01, Ah non fia sempre odiata
Why do you say recorded in February 2019? It says in the video's caption at the beginning "recorded in February 2096", maybe meaning 1996.
Ever heard of a thing called "typo"? Obviously it did not take place in 2096 or 1996.
Michael Spyres was 16 in 1996. Lolol

Reminds me of maestro Nicolai Gedda.

Tenor poc valorat.
Ja m’ho diràs.
Why is it that the majority of this tenor’s clips seem to come from odd venues?
In what sense is the Grand Théâtre de Genève an "odd venue"? What do you mean exactly?
Helmut Fischer Many of his clips seemed to me to involve almost pick-up forces. Improvisatory surroundings, bad playing and conducting, and most strangely, what sounded like small and distinctly tepid audiences.
8:40, not a good idea.
not a good comment.
It is a pity that sinhers today not know their roles or parts by heart. They keep their faces down reading the music.

Noiosissima! D'accordo. Ma lui bravo nonostante tutto.
