Thanks for this video Akshat, Fantastic analysis. One request for a video - so If you could make a video on why a certain stock, preferably a tech stock, is overvalued, it would help understand us better. So what I mean to say here is, the P/E ratio might be super inflated, but would be very interesting to understand why the reason for inflated P/E ratio given by Prof. Damodaran not hold true for the overvalued tech stock you would analyze, considering that IT industry made massive money in the last 12-18 months. Thanks again for the wonderful lessons you give, really helps a lot 😊
Thank you very very much. First time someone explained big fundamental in simple way. Please help us many intermediate investor with these fundamentals
Peter lynch said that ..people loose money waiting for correction than actual correction. your videos are very informative and interesting. Thanks Akshat
Akshat you nicely explained the current economic scenario and also explained in simple terms what Prof. Damodar has said... keep making more videos like this.
Just for the first point stated by Damodaran Sir - think there is some disconnect between what Professor said and you explained. Professor said that as and when more companies get listed (and this wl keep happening because most till now have been family driven and not captured in market cap) - the market cap will keep going up. Your point was that Indias GDP is underestimated that it doesn't capture unorganised sector (which isnt necessarily true).
I liked the video, I subscribed to the channel .. but still I was looking for other things which I can do on the screen to thank you for your awesomeness!

I told on my Facebook timeline in March 2020 to buy heavily and also mentioned that it will double the money. I did not miss the bus and I asked others to sit in the bus. You have to tell this when the market is crashing and not after a year and half. Also, there is no knowledge required to make money during crashes, but you must buy blue chips at cheaper rates.

Thanks for this video its quite informative. Could you please help me in understanding- 1: Market Cap/ GDP - if it's fair to say that the ratio of formal to informal sector in 2021 would have been similar to the previous few years, then the number of companies contributing to the market cap and GDP would have been about the same in say 2021 and 2019. So though we can't get the exact ratio in India, it would be skewed by similar margins each year. Can we conclude that this ratio being 100 is concerning, considering it has been below 100 in most years with the same informal sector in India ? Also I'm a bit confused with your statement that this ratio should always be high in India, as the same is not reflecting in the graph shown in this video. The last time it was this high was before the 2008 crash. 2: Bitcoin Hedging- The last two significant dips I could spot on the S&P500 graph were in Mar 2020 and Dec 2018. Looking at the Bitcoin graph it too dipped at these same points. So how does Bitcoin act as a hedge for market correction/ crash?
I don't agree on the crypto as hedge... why don't you use dollars to hedge rather than cryptos.... cryptos always crash before the crash in the markets.... it happened in 2017. same happened in 2020 as well ...however I do like the idea on hul and hdfcbank....
@Akshat: Thanks for the informative videos. Regarding the market cap to GDP ratio, though I might have misunderstood, but as per my understanding what Professor was saying that the reason we have had historically low ratio is since in India we have majority of the businesses as family run/private businesses so the market cap doesn't capture that bulk part as compared to efficient markets like the US and not that it is not being captured in GDP. Please correct me if am wrong.
I have a question: informal sector is 30%+ of the economy, which as per you is not represented in the reported GDP figures. So, do u mean India is a 3.6+ trn economy surpassing Germany (~3.6 trn) & its not reported in international media???
The unorganised GDP which is not getting captured, also its market capital is not getting captured.. so whatever market capital which is there is for the organized market and organized GDP.. then isn't it ballooned??

Do you think exide will trade above 170 again ?
So should we stay away from IT sector stocks? As it's showing a massive growth and its way too overvalued now..for eg Infosys,TCS, happiest mind, tech Mahindra,Lt tech.
Hi Akshat, what sould be ideal allocation to equity, debt and crypto in current market for someone in their 20s with a moderate to high risk appetite?
Alot of people lost money in that crash. Mr. Ashwat was also trying to avoid making into Indian Media's Headlines to- "Market overvalued and crash coming soon by renowned professor Mr. Ashwat Damadoran"
Would you consider real estate as hedging strategy too ?
When Market Cap to GDP ratio was low, at that time also, the informal sectors were contributing to GDP. Can you share your views in this context?
So do you say that market correction in US wont affect india? I dont think so. It will definitely affect. But and till that time i don't invest more and more. instead of I do SIPs and Swing trading.
Overvalued is very simple , not a stable business model , burning whole lot of hell cash . But still market cap is high

Stock and Crypto markets were highly correlated in the past (US data). Not sure why crypto will be hedge against stock market in India. If anything, both markets will move together. Best case scenario is : More printing - Dollar/INR weakens (High Inflation) - Crypto/Stocks rise
Thanks a lot, Akshat it was really a boost upon confidence, even I am new to stock market hardly 5 -6 months but have been trying to study the fundamentals understand the global cues to invest for long term, and for that, I think investing in undervalued to fairly valued sectors is important. Lots of people have made videos on IT sector but the way you do the analysis I think many of us will be benefited from videos on undervalued and fairly valued sectors. Finding goods stock in those sectors will be our homework. What say???
