- We came very close to having to go through Colon Cancer treatment in America and as an American Sofia has been able to witness first hand the process and benefits to a system with free healthcare. This video is basically the observations of that.

Great points about the health care system in America. Health is treated like a commodity that you have to pay for. Also the issue of health insurance. If you supposedly have "great health insurance" and you're still out of pocket 40k then there's an issue there. Aussies really are lucky that we not only have great public healthcare but even better private health that's supported by great health insurance and a country that generally supports those who end up being sick
We actually tried coming back to the US to continue treatment. But thats another frustrating and upsetting story for another time. ❤️
Thats what happens when you have a health care system based on profit. The US is so backward on this issue. We pay soooo much more for healthcare than any other country. And its not the best outcomes. The Republicans have been fighting to take us back before Obamacare when insurance companies could deny you for a pre existing condition! They claim they are for small business and entrepreneurs but in the past if you wanted to start your own business you couldnt get insurance if you had a pre exiting condition. You were forced to work for somebody else to get insurance! Thankfully thats changed but its still very screwed up. So glad to see Ben is healing and doing better!
