    Good ukuleles, Kiwaya sounds amazing, really suggestive.

    The Moon Bird soprano is such a unique ukulele. It's an absolute cannon in a soprano body. It can rival so many concert ukes and even some tenors in terms of depth of sound. The fact that it's not as popular as it should be is a literal crime. Sue and arrest everyone (except you and me, obviously).

      Haha! You, me and some others but not as many others as there should be!

      So, it's a musical “stay out of jail” card?

    Hey Matt, thanks for the video (and for selling me a really really nice Millar long neck mango soprano a few months back :) ).
    As an owner of a Kiwaya KTC-2 I will venture to say that the problem with the KPC-1M is indeed mostly an aesthetic one, but not due to the wood. To be frank, I found the headstock on their modern line quite ugly, it might not be by himself, but the problem is that it is a modern headstock - and modern offset fret markers - with an otherwise really traditional body and look. For instance, the bridge is a really traditional one, and it does not fare well with that modern headstock, at least in my opinion.
    I feel that there is something not coherent in their modern line aesthetic, whereas I found the traditional line to be one of the most beautiful understated lines ever ! As much as I know how good any Kiwaya will sound, I will not buy a modern line one just because of this unsettling aesthetic I guess. Especially taking into account that there is so much competition in the modern ukulele market.
    I should add that I have nothing against modern ukulele design, the Moonbird series is really beautiful, but it is really coherent, a whole.

      That's interesting. I love the offset markers and don't mind the headstock, and find the tone better, for me, on the strummer series... But if everyone liked the same thing it would be boring!
      Glad you like the Millar, that was lovely mango!

    The Kiwaya is my favorite 😎 I bought the Victoria for my daughter last year. It's an absolutely amazing ukulele for the prize. In terms of playability it is among the best ukuleles I have ever tried.

    I've fancied the Victoria for ages and I just may get one and it really sounds lovely when picking. It's becoming very clear that I won't be able to venture higher up in the market for some considerable time. X

      I think I'd have one, rather than. Diana, if that helps!

    I think that people pay 1000£ for a tenor with ease. But the same amount for a soprano seems too much for many

      It does seem to be the case. But I sell twice as many Kiwaya KTS-7s as this one and I'd have the aNueNue any day.

    Great video, Matt. I have my sights on an aNueNue, but, yes, probably bigger. An idea: Why not have links in the description directly to the instruments on the WoU site?

    Hi, I've been wanting to get either the Flight victoria soundwave or the flight voyager uke. I saw you tested both, which do you think is the better buy? I love the soundwave effects but the solid acacia of the voyager model is tempting.

    • @WorldofUkes
      @WorldofUkes  2 роки тому

      Voyager for me. I'd go for the better uke over the extra functionality. I think, in time, you could get a small multi effects pedal and use it fairly quietly with the voyager... And the effects would be better than on that small Victoria (good as they are for their compact size).
