Hey James!! It's been awhile. Sorry to hear about your setbacks, but you've still got this. I'm proud of you for starting again. It's not easy the second time around. Well, the first time is definitely not easy either! However, it does seem to be more difficult to jump back in. That's where I'm at as well. I had been doing well with my weight loss, then life kind of knocked me down. I'm struggling to get back on track, but I'm going. Slowly, but I'm going! Definitely not easy to start over, but it's necessary. If I can do this, then I know the prince of positivity can, too! You'll never know how much you've inspired me over the years. I'm blessed to have met you so long ago. Im very happy to see you're making content again. Prayers for continued success. ❤
I had a breakthrough with my weight loss and I wanted to leave a word to you. For a while now I've been diving deeper into meditation and eastern religion/traditions and such. I'm a hardcore atheist and materialist and I still am, but I found alot of utility in some of their teachings, and in particular meditation. Meditation has a lot of scientific backing and has helped me a lot with resisting urges to eat. I had a meditation stint a few years ago, like 10 minutes a day for a couple of weeks and in that short time I had some interesting experiences with lasting effects. Nothing supernatural, I just realized I could do something in my mind that today I find kind of mundane. And now about a month ago I had another stint that was way more rigorous, like 15 minutes for couple of weeks or so, and while I didn't have a big experience I did a lot of progress in my ability to focus without getting distracted. And now in the past few weeks I've been able to easily avoid my cravings for food, and I honestly attribute this almost entirely to my increased awareness as a result of that meditation session. The issue was that I would automatically just buckle after a craving and mindlessly go to the kitchen and sasiate it. But now I'm much more able to notice the craving, detach from the negativity of that craving and just shrug at it. And do something else. Sometimes I still mindlessly go to the kitchen but I catch myself and snap back to reality. So, I think there's a lot of secular evidence towards meditation and I believe it can be a key piece in getting control of ones behavior, by increased awareness of what is going on in the mind and not following impulses mindlessly, and detaching from negative feelings which makes their volume go down, therefore easier to ignore. My recent stint also involved reading the book "the mind illuminated" that is an easy to read but still in depth guide to meditation. It has its buddhist influences, but the instructions for meditating are straight forward and secular. If you haven't tried meditating before, I would highly highly recommend it.
I am down 1,7kg down since your last vid! Lets gooo boi! Just doing my 30 min walk a day and eating 2800 kcal a day works just fine right now! I've canceled my gym membership a while ago... its just to exepensive.. Got myself a stationary bike and some dumbells
NICE WORK Patrick! Lets goooooo! Great to hear you are putting in the hard work as well, no gym necessary. It is just my preference :) Keep up the hard work, I am right there with ya!
Its awesome that you got on the documentary and got hired! As a bigger guy what helped you learn technique? I cant get a trainer and have to do my lifting at home, but im trying to improve my technique, i struggle with cordination and mobility for sure
There are a lot of good resources online and youtube channels out there that can help with technique. The best advice I can give as a bigger guy is to know what muscle is supposed to be affected by the lift you are doing and feel for it. I use an app (Strong) that you can look up differnt types of lifts in it and it will show you how to perform the exercise and what muscles they target. I then build out a plan to target all my different muscle groups during the week. Maybe this would be a gould video to make when I have the time. Thank you for the question!
It might help to film yourself when you lift and then compare your form against examples of others doing the same? I get anxious about whether my form's any good... I had to ask a random stranger in the gym if I was doing my weighted squats correctly.
Hey James! Glad to see you finding a good routine. I’ve had an Ozeri scale for many years now and I haven’t had any issues with it. I believe it goes up to 550 lbs which was beneficial for me as I didn’t want to see an error codes about maxing the scale out. Hope this helps if the third scale doesn’t pan out. Keep up the great work!
I couldn’t tell if your car was actually on fire… awesome VfX work!! And awesome video!

@@JamesJansen Oh yeah! I've used Strong in the past. Thanks for the response and a video would be interesting for sure!

Thank you for the suggestion Brandon! If the third one falls through, I will give that a try. You got it! :)
