If you think of it, Kyle's relationship with Ike is one of the few positive and healthy familial relationships he has. Given Kyle is half the time embarassed or half scared of his mom whenever she goes on one of her causes, and lost respect of his dad after season 20 when he learned he was SkankHunt42 and nearly caused all civilization to collapse, and got away scot free of his crimes.
with the exception of a few “real parent” bad terminology slips, ike is some of the best adoption representation on tv. the way it’s emphasized and normalized that he’s not only part of his family, but allowed to dictate what being an international adoptee means to him with strong ties both to the us (him being active during election season) and in his canadian arcs.

I actually liked season 20. Taking someone like Gerald and going, “What if he was a cunt?” is an interesting concept to me, and most of the moments I find myself laughing is when I’m watching Gerald’s plot. For example, the scene in his house where Dildo is giving his backstory, and it cuts back to Gerald struggling not to laugh, I lost it for almost five minutes. There’s so many moments like that where I loose it because Gerald is just a really funny character

i used to hate the one where ike had sex with his kindergarden teacher. it grossed me out and frustrated me to such a degree that it was the first episode of south park i quit watching halfway through because of how gross it made me feel. but after talking with a friend who was sexually abused by an older woman in his life i kinda get what they were going for. how society treats male sexual assault victims as being lucky and complaining for nothing despite it leading to very real trauma. i think that point flew over my head and i just assumed the police officer scene was there because "hahaha incompetent police officer funny haha." and not understanding the real albiet exagerated implications it had,
Yep, "Me Too" goes both ways. Male abuse victims deserve to be validated, and abusers shouldn't be overlooked just because they're female and/or hot (which is the reason why the episode had that running gag of every male adult saying "nice!" because the teacher was considered pretty and commending Ike as a lucky boy).

If you wanna take Ike's history even slightly further back before South Park, according to the DVD commentary in Cannibal the Musical they mention a scene where Trey (as Alferd Packer) wakes up from a nightmare and screams "IKE!!" (instead of "yikes"? I think just cuz it was sillier?) and so a few years later when naming Kyle's little brother for South Park they remembered that scene and that's how Ike was named.

We watched the episode Ike’s wee wee at a sleep over when I was like 8 or 9. My mom let me brother, our friends and I stay up late and watch South Park. I still remember that’ll vividly. It was that episode and the rain Forrest episode. Really good times watching South Park as a kid.

the best part about ike was seeing him during the post covid: return of the covid special on hbo max. ike, when he's older, comes back home to south park for canadian boxing day, and kyle seeing him and getting so happy was amazing. in fact, everyone got happy seeing him in the applebees plus max. ike embracing his heritage more the older he gets is just amazing. it's a character development that seems like it's reverting backwards, but its' actually growing faster.
