The rod: Daiwa seabass 8ft6. Reel: Daiwa Sol II 3000 (which subsequently seized the line roller twice and then the complete reel died after less than 1 year use). I replaced the reel with a Shimano Stradic Hagane 4000 which has given faultless service. 10lb power pro braid, 20lb mono leader, spanyid raider 40g
Ryan Smith I do fish the breakwall but I don't get much success there for tailor or salmon... but I know a lot of other guys are successful there with bait.
Ok, so its not just me then 😉 I catch a lot up the beach...no gutters at the moment, but there are always fish about at dawn or dusk...still looking for that Jew on plastics...
I find that covering lots of ground works well with lures. Reading the water also plays a big part, but most of all, I find that very few metals actually have a good action. Most of them look lifeless on the retrieve. I really believe that lure selection makes a huge difference, because I have tried at least 50 different metals off the beach but only a handfull get results. I will do a video in yhe next week of the lures that I have had success with ar blackies
Malu Hunter thanks for watching. This was at blacksmiths beach NSW. I always put them back, although I've encountered other fishos who just kill them because they don't taste good... I say live & let live.
Any chance you could do a video on what beach structure you look for? And how to identify these structures? Thanks
Yip certainly can, just waiting for some good gutters to form and also to get some drone footage to really make it interesting.
Well done mate! Would you share some info about the gear used?

Alluring Fishing yea I haven’t had much luck either, might try up the beach more spinning with metals.

Alluring Fishing I had one good late arvo session there catching salmon on strips of mullet. Been back 5-6times and haven’t got a bite haha.

Nice work mate! Some of the best fun a fisherman may have! Pity they don't taste as good as so many other fish! Where was this caught?

Amazing catch. Even more amazing is watching it swim away to fight another day. Good on you for doing that...
